Not competitively but he did do some fighting in Hong Kong's rooftop fighting scene. It was one of the things that led him away from traditional martial arts and into creating his own hybrid thing.

My argument is that Whoopi's statement reeks more of the ignorance pervasive in society on the subject than some sort of anti-Semitic stance. She should of course be criticized for it and she should of course educate herself better on the subject.

Though most scholars place it between 200,000 and 800,000. 15,000 homosexuals were killed in the camps, and those that survived in many cases were put back in the camps because being gay was illegal in the countries that rescued them. 250,000 handicapped people were killed and another 360,000 forcibly sterilized.

It doesn't do them the justice they are due to be just counted as part of a lump sum of 6 million Jewish people. Though to be fair, the Holocaust Memorial Trust does a good job of calling all of these groups and numbers out, it's our failure as a society to teach the information properly that is the issue.

There are plenty of positive forces for change in India, Modi and his Government aren't one of them. There are people who will argue that incremental change is necessary in India to achieve the kind of goals that people want. Incremental change doesn't help or protect the victims of gang rapes or the fact that the rapists go unpunished. Nor does it help the women that this law would help protect.

Part of the problem is that people are aware of the disinformation but are so happy being able to point to the other side and say look at you stupid people falling for this that they're completely oblivious to the fact that in doing so they are doing exactly what Russia is hoping they would.

Take this topic, for example. You could have simply talked about Russian disinformation, but you made the conscious choice to frame it in a way that demonizes the right. Did you do that because you thought it would help counter their influence? Or did you do it because it made you feel good?

Very few people work multiple jobs. Most people who work more than one job are low skilled or lack education (and tend to have kids) so they work 2 service jobs. Idk where this notion that most people work 2-3 jobs came from or that the poor/uneducated working multiple jobs is something new.

And I do agree that essential jobs should pay well. I just don't consider fast food and dog walking to be essential

I don't think it's unfair to pay someone based on the difficulty, skills required, or danger involved with the job. If everyone can be comfy doing the bare minimum, why wouldn't they? If that job is necessary for society to function, then yeah. Pay people a living wage. You want people's time and labor, pay them, or do it yourself, or find a way to automate. Those are your choices. People are over the whole "work muliple jobs just to continue existing" thing.

It's crazy the cognitive dissonance people can hold, to complain about a comic showing a hero's dating and family life when the most celebrated superhero ever, Spider-man, his whole shtick is protecting the people he dates and aunt may from his villain cast.

Yeah it's the most disingenuous bullshit when people posit this as a legitimate critique. All comics are filled with slice of life issues, and plots that have little or nothing to do with people's role as superhero.
