I think the real solution is the USA setting aside some land and resources for the slave descendants to build a concise prosperous nation of their own. This way no one has to worry about any monuments coming down. Everyone can enjoy their own in peace. And from there the nations may learn to deal fairly with one another

I said white people WERE stronger and more technologically advanced back during the colonization era, which is why they waltzed all over any native resistance they came across. Pretty much, yeah. For essentially winning the game of Civilization that the whole world was playing back then. Everyone was trying to subjugate everyone. African tribes were doing it to each other, Native American tribes were doing it to each other, Asian countries were doing it to each other. The Europeans just had the means and the technology advantage to do it on a global scale. You don't see the Native Americans, Mayans or Africans making Transatlantic voyages to set up colonies on a new continent now, do you?

It's still a bullshit excuse because Plagueis's power doesn't work like that. Clearly he could use it to prevent people from dying of old age or natural causes, but not from getting killed. If he could have used it to resurrect himself after Palpatine killed him, he would have. So Palpatine shouldn't be able to use that power to resurrect himself after Vader killed him. And especially not given how he died. Thrown into the reactor of the Death Star, which then exploded. Even if he survived the explosion somehow, he'd be stranded in the vacuum of space.

Because that's wrong, independently of whatever the sellers did? It's almost like you have a choice about whether to set up a slave society and you don't have to do it just because slaves are available.

It's wrong now, yes, but back then it was standard fare. The Arabs had slaves. The Africans had slaves. Nobody gave a fuck back then.

Typically speaking, if you buy a slave, you are responsible for buying the slave. The same as with anything else.
