Everyone saying "how the Hell did he survive Return of the Jedi?!" and saying it's silly... do they not remember Episode III and the story of Darth Plagueis and the powers of the Dark Side?

"The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be... unnatural" (a line even repeated by Sidious in TROS)

and

"Ironic... he could save others from dying... but not himself."

The latter line referring to Plagueis, and it's heavily implied Sidious was his apprentice. So the Emperor coming back in TROS brings all this full circle, and even implies that perhaps he already knew how to bring himself back from the dead way back in Ep III, and possibly knew how to save Padme's life, but purposely kept that knowledge hidden from Anakin.

"Makes sense" is stretching it. But maybe people would have liked it more if his return speech to the galaxy wasn't given in fucking Fortnite.

It's still a bullshit excuse because Plagueis's power doesn't work like that. Clearly he could use it to prevent people from dying of old age or natural causes, but not from getting killed. If he could have used it to resurrect himself after Palpatine killed him, he would have. So Palpatine shouldn't be able to use that power to resurrect himself after Vader killed him. And especially not given how he died. Thrown into the reactor of the Death Star, which then exploded. Even if he survived the explosion somehow, he'd be stranded in the vacuum of space.

In the TOU you have a duty to try not to spoil things for other users and it's not hard to do. Say spoilers and blank out the spoiler in the topic title. It take 0.5 seconds.

The nonsense of his resurrection aside this completely destroyed the chosen one prophesy, and undermined Anakin's sacrifice completely. And dont bother bringing up his resurrection in legends continuity, it was dumb there and its dumb here.

I read a YouTube comment that had a brilliant suggestion. Imagine if The Last Jedi ended with the Fortnite broadcast from Palpatine. Cue the shocked expressions of everyone, even Hux and Kylo, then cut to credits.

Hell with all the revised and edited shit Lucas has done, I'd be okay with Disney doing that.

It was the only thing they could do to bring people back to the cinemas.
