and yeah, Boogiepop Phantom is an anime original sequel arc to the first novel in the series, Boogiepop and Others (I guess because the live action movie adaptation of the novel was successful) while the new Boogiepop and Others series is an adaptation of the first few novels. Most of Phantom is episodic stories about new characters.

Same. There's no flow here at all, it just moves scene to scene, no establishing shots, awkward animation most of the time. It's very obvious something is off even without having read it. It's not completely incompetent or anything but it's clearly not great.

Just like Whisper Me a Love Song, it's a studio where it was assumed this would happen, but you always wanna give the benefit of the doubt. I really hope they don't screw up Medalist next year because I hear great things about that source material (I'll have read it myself long before the show airs I'm sure).

Based on a quick google search, it's two genres I personally don't generally enjoy: music + cute girls doing cute things.

There's been a lot of overlap with my list in this topic so far, but I'm pretty upset that I seem to be totally alone on Sound Euphonium, it's such a masterpiece. Do people actually disagree or is it just lower viewership here than I realize?

Pretty sad I've only seen number 4 and a bit of 10. I stopped watching seasonal after 2018 lol.

Something I didn't include that wouldn't make the Top 10 at this time, but would criminal for me to leave off the honorable mentions: Rascal Does not Dream of Bunnygirl Senpai. I have a lot to catch up to with this one though, so it's possible it could shake things up whenever I do get to the rest of it.

Only watched 1 episode of Duke and Death and his maid. I really couldn't stand the whole "I'm not touching you" joke, and I couldn't suspend my disbelief concerning how foolish the maid's behavior was given the premise.
