While we're talking about it, there's something I've always wondered. How in the world did Steiner get enough dedicated supporters for an Alliance to form in the first place?

Last year, Lightning had five ultra dedicated savers, which is more than most characters have, and I can't imagine even that being enough to take over the contest. Trading future nominations and support can't go that far, can it? And how did Steiner get so many people willing to give that up?

That was my main team too. There were enough possible Com/Rav combinations to handle most battle situations, plus both Sab/Syn for fanciness and two options for healing. I never encountered a situation that needed Sentinel anyway

that's definitely one of those games that I'm not sure whether I liked it or not

You should play the prequel, Before the Storm! Chloe is in it and I remember how much you loved her

As for Haruhi, that reminds me that I should look into getting the other books. I read the first one and it was good but it was also basically just the first few episodes of the anime. I need to read more to get to the new stories!

Speaking of story, I guess the main question I have is how Max saw the tornado at the beginning of Episode 1 before she learned about her ability to rewind time. I thought her messing with time was what brought the storm, so why was the vision what we were introduced to first?

Within the story I guess you could call it a warning/premonition, and creatively it was probably just for the sake of a compelling opening. Still, I agree with you, and this is just one thing that ties into my main problem with Ep5. There were actually a lot of logical plot holes like this.

I've cobbled together a fanfiction theory for the storm that I prefer more than Warren's (since his essentially boils down to him having seen a movie about time travel once). I can share it with you too if you want (though if you're fine with the game's, that's fine too. A lot of people were and foolmo in particular had a less fanfiction interpretation that I also liked) but my explanation might fit better after you've played Before the Storm Ep1 just so I don't need to worry about accidental spoilers

Also I'm happy you decided to play BtS. Not many people here have yet!

I had a lot of significant problems with Ep5 too so if you ever get time I'd be interested in seeing what you thought about it, along with any other overall thoughts

As for Before the Storm, I absolutely loved Episode One and overall reception has been positive. Chloe is my favorite video game character though so I'm biased. It might be weird jumping right into it too because all the voices are different

Step three: eventually get sniped by some guy I never even saw

I'm at 72 hours. My record is 4 kills and I've gotten second a couple of times but only ever through hiding because I'm not very good. I can't snipe to save my life, my kills are always lame shotgun ambushes

Reynn and Lann were an excellent comedy duo and almost all of the FF cameos were awesome fanservice (it helped that a lot of my favorites were featured prominently, too). The story, while ultimately nothing special, was also handled well.

The gameplay could drag at times, I'll admit, but the Pokemon aspects were still addictive and having Lann ride a Valefor while balancing a baby chocobo on his head never got old

If you wanted to maximize how upset people are you wouldn't save people like Maechen because Charon and Gen take this thing roughly 37x as serious as everyone else, so making them happy causes a net happiness increase

By this logic he shouldn't save Ariana because there are equal numbers of people who love and revile her, cancelling each other out

Umaro is a cool yeti, Minwu is alright, and I distinctly remember using Maechen last year as an example of the worst possible FFX character who could be nominated into SMFFFC. That shows me, I guess!

Yeah, those 'Sit' spots are great. It wouldn't work in most games but Life is Strange uses them effectively to realistically explore Max's inner thoughts. There are two at Chloe's house in Ep1 that I always liked because they're just her reliving memories, subtly conveying their long history even though the player has only just met Chloe
