| Mobilezoid 01/21/22 5:06:34 AM #20 | Also can I just say that games being cheaper on Steam was never a reason for 'Steam loyalty' because I don't think it's ever been true. Epic's whole business plan is to throw discounts and free games at people to build a userbase. There are reasons for preferring Steam over Epic, even if they seem silly to others who don't care. And I don't mean blind loyalty to a faceless corporation. Some people don't want to support artificial exclusivity. Some want to play on the client with more features. Some don't want to support Tencent. Sometimes it's as simple as already owning a bunch of games on Steam and not wanting to split their library. If one game being cheaper on EGS is enough to shake your 'Steam loyalty' then you probably don't care about any of that, though. I mean, Epic got in trouble with some developers during their first sale for deeply discounting games without permission. Steam has plenty of sales and cheap games too but it's not like Epic has a reputation as being way more expensive.
