I don't think anyone blasted him for ruining a marriage. If anything, most people fell for his "guilt" and went out of their way to absolve him.

This topic was just a poorly disguised brag and I'm about fifteen years past being impressed that someone had sex.

+3 B: The Beginning - Keith vs Gilbert

My third was from Revue Starlight but Karen vs Junna in Ep 2 so sadly no overlap between our votes.

Gundam Wing

Looks like this is on Crunchyroll for easy watching, so if it's a good place to start I might check it out. No guarantee I'll move past it unless I like it and I'll probably watch it really slowly, so fair warning on that.

I'm not sure, I'll probably just try to keep up with a few airing shows for the next little while. Continuing to chisel away at my backlog would come after that.

I don't think I'll ever watch a truly massive franchise, either. I look at the length of something like One Piece and go lolnope. HxH length is probably my limit.

Killing Bites is about people infused with animal powers who battle one another. If you can look past the blatant fanservice elements, there are a lot of creative fights in this anime that made it a whole lot of fun to watch. The plot is mostly an excuse for the battles, but it's at least decent too

Laid-Back Camp is about girls who discover the simple joy of camping. This anime was by far the most relaxing experience of the year, but it also had an impressive amount of depth in both the camping adventures and the characterization. Laid-Back Camp had a ton of funny moments, too.

Last Period is about characters who live in a gacha game. Let me be up front, the comedy in this show is super lame. However, that's also what makes it kind of great if self-aware lameness is what you're into. My favorite part was Wiseman, a group of antagonists who burst into scenes with a dumb Team Rocket-style introduction. They also produced an ED song that was far catchier than it had any right to be.

Planet With is a mecha show about a boy who fights both to undermine a non-standard alien invasion and against the super-powered defenders of Earth. For me, Planet With was the perfect mixture of seriousness and absurdity. It featured silly animal mascot things, but also had a lot of moments that kind of got to me. The pacing of the story was great too, covering a lot without ever seeming rushed.

Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl-senpai is about a guy who strives to help various girls who are inflicted with quasi-supernatural problems. I'm really not sure how else to quickly describe it, but that blurb doesn't do the show justice. The main characters all have fantastic development and chemistry. Aside from a few pacing issues, I've always been satisfied with how the individual arcs were handled.

Revue Starlight is about a group of theater students who participate in a rather unusual series of auditions. This is a hard anime to describe without giving anything away. I guess I'll just say that all the characters were unique, the animation was beautiful, and the story was filled with tons of great symbolism. This show really deserves at least a chance, because the first episode is an excellent indicator of the awesomeness that follows.

Zombie Land Saga is about a group of girls who are turned into zombies in order to form an idol group. This show has a lot of fun characters, and their zombie/idol misadventures lead to a lot of hilarious moments. What really pulls it all together for me, though, is that it also has a lot heart. It may be an absurd look at the idol genre, but I feel that ZLS also works as a legit idol anime too.

Alright, here are fifteen 2018 anime that I at least want to remind people of. Some are obscure, others were seen by practically everyone. Some have wide appeal, others might only appeal to me. Regardless, while I don't know how in demand my opinions are, this is mostly just a way for me to kill time at work so I'm going to get started! These are ordered alphabetically.

A.I.C.O.: Incarnation is a sci-fi story about a girl who needs to venture into a containment zone to reach the heart of a hostile, biological burst. There were a lot of things about this that appealed to me. The plot was focused on a singular goal, there were a lot of interesting battles along the way, and the burst provided some neat visuals. The main girl, Aiko, was also someone who I felt had a lot of depth.

A Place Further than the Universe was about a group of girls who strive to become part of an expedition to Antarctica. This show was a decent mix of fun slice-of-life and emotional character moments. The main cast was always a joy to see together and the impact of watching their journey still sticks with me even several months later.

Asobi Asobase is a comedy about three girls who form a club where they try to find fun ways to pass the time. Each episode was divided into skits, and not all of them were winners. However, if you want over-the-top comedy, this is one of the best options of the year!

Dragon Pilot: Hisone & Masotan is about a girl who is chosen to pilot a dragon in the Japanese air force (yes I know that plot is obvious from the title, shut up, these quick descriptions aren't always easy). There's quite a bit of absurdity to this, starting with the girls needing to be eaten to pilot the dragons. That's part of what makes it a fun anime, however, along with the oddball characters and unique art style.

Happy Sugar Life is about a teenager living with a little girl under questionable circumstances, and how she'll do anything to maintain their happy life together. This is one where I imagine the dark tone and concept might turn people away, but those are also the show's strengths if you're in the mood for them. Seeing into the main character's mind and glimpsing how she reacted to things and justified herself was always fascinating for me.

Hinamatsuri is about a psychic girl who drops into the apartment of a Yakuza enforcer. This is primarily a comedy anime, exploring all the ways that premise can be hilarious. However, for something with such a wacky foundation, there were also a surprising amount of moments that managed to get to me because of how real they were. Basically, Hinamatsuri always nailed whatever tone it wanted to convey.

Iroduku: The World in Colors is about a girl who is magically sent into the past. This anime is a slow build, primarily exploring the relationships Hitomi forms in the past. The magical aspect of the setting provides a lot of beautiful moments, however, and in my opinion the relationships between the characters eventually build into something equally as magical provided you have patience and aren't turned off by the more high school drama aspects of it.

Katana Maidens is about two girls who learn a terrifying secret about their organization, which protects the world from supernatural monsters. This is by far the most personal-taste pick on my list, but I just couldn't let 2018 pass without shilling Katana Maidens one final time. There's a lot here to nitpick if you want to, with budget constraints often limiting fight scenes and the second half failing to deliver on the promise of the first. I still feel like Katana Maidens has a solid core, though. The characters are intelligent in pursuit of their goals, which often results in neat moments. There are also times where the budget and all the different elements click together, and those rare instants were so magical.

Yeah, I imagine best female character would cover 90% of waifus. The only exception would be attractive non-characters. Nana from Sunohara-sou was probably the hottest girl of the year... but even then there were far better characters who were also good looking.

Still, include the category if you want. I'm in favor of as many categories as possible. I want Best Anime Hair so I can vote for the girl who was in one frame of Zombieland Saga who shaped her hair into a giant bird.

Today's episode of Bunny Girl was really good, I thought.

I liked how easily the actor/boyfriend drama was finally swept aside. Kaede making progress was nice to see too, I'm glad we're back to 3-episode pacing so nothing has to be rushed. The amnesia reveal at the end might justify how attached Kaede is to her brother if he was literally the only person she knew for a long time. She had access to a TV too so I choose to believe she watched certain imouto anime and got the completely wrong idea about how sisters should act from that.

so far it doesn't seem like you are very enthusiastic about the upcoming season

That list at the end is literally just the stuff where I went 'oh hell yeah, I want this right now'. I'll still check out other stuff and hope to be pleasantly surprised. I just won't be watching literally everything like I tried to in 2018. Lord of Vermilion, Island, Master of Ragnarok... lots of stuff made me reevaluate the dark road I was on!

And the epic conclusion.

Sequels:
B-Project- Another sequel to something I've never heard of.

New Stuff:
Grimms Notes- People have books of fate, but Chaos Writers are changing them! This world must have tons of plot holes. It's also a video game adaptation so I'll probably pass on it.

Pastel Memories- Another video game adaptation, this one about managing an otaku shop while also battling some memory virus. At least this one sounds kinda interesting but I don't have high hopes.

Egao no Daika- Something about nobles on another world. This had a surprisingly lengthy description considering how it told me absolutely nothing.

W'z- A guy is a DJ and... stuff happens on the internet? The picture makes me think this will be a bad Persona ripoff.

Circlet Princess- It's about an augmented reality sport. I also had the idea for an augmented reality sport way back in high school so I'll need to watch this purely to see how fully they stole my idea.

Meiji Tokyo Renka- The description said it was a romance, but little else.

Bermuda Triangle: Colorful Pastrale- It's about mermaid idols! You don't need to say anything more, anime. You've won me over.

Renshi Ekoda-chan- I disliked the art style in the image so much that I didn't even read what it was about.

Dimension High School- Guys are transported to an anime world and go to high school there. I could see this being funny if they go crazy with it and are self-aware, but that's also a recipe for the blandest school anime ever if they do it wrong.

Flying Babies- It's about people trying to become hula girls. That has potential, but I'm not a fan of the art style based on that one image I've seen of it.

Ongoing list of what I'm actually looking forward to (not necessarily all the stuff I'll check out):
BanG Dream 2nd Season
Kakegurui xx
Endro
Yakusoku no Neverland
Kouya no Kotobuki Hikoutai
Bermuda Triangle: Colorful Pastrale
