As far as I could tell, I couldn't do shooting without a pet.

Even worse is that it counted as a holiday, so all the stores were closed. That right there is she shitty game balance. You can't buy summer crops til Day 2 of Summer -_-

I feel like it had to have been some sort of corporate style guide decision over the last decade. Like, they want to unify the Mario universe as this hyper controlled, really generic creation.

In Super Paper Mario, the elaborate story led the game away from the Mario universe, so since Paper Mario: Sticker Star Ive refrained from using stories that are too complicated.

To go back to Mario, in Paper Mario: Color Splash, I avoided having a complicated story so as not to veer too far away from the Mario universe, and instead aimed for a game with more memorable events.

Since Paper Mario: Sticker Star, its no longer possible to modify Mario characters or to create original characters that touch on the Mario universe. That means that if we arent using Mario characters for bosses, we need to create original characters with designs that dont involve the Mario universe at all, like weve done with Olly and the stationery bosses.

That last one in particular sounds like pretty hard confirmation of the rumored Miyamoto fuckery, which demanded they couldn't make unique characters anymore.

Well, pack it up boys. The Paper Mario we grew up with and love, is dead lol.

Realistic explanation and timeline of Geno support

Back in the mid 90s, he was fresh in people's minds. SMRPG was a lot of people's first real RPG, so they had a soft spot for him since he was a cool character.

Smash 64 was very rudimentary, so no one was expecting anything but the biggest characters so no one thought about him.
But then Melee released and it opened the doors to more obscure characters. And even then, around the time Melee released, he was still only like 5 years old.

By the time Brawl had come out, SMRPG was a little over a decade old, but during that span, Geno received cameo in Superstar Saga, which gave some hope for fans that he might pop up again someday.
when Brawl finally released, and we got third party reps for the first time ever, that opened the floodgates for a lot of character requests, and suddenly there was nothing holding Geno back in theory.

Sakurai then fanned the flames when he mentioned offhand somewhere that he likes Geno as a character, and wished he could have put him in Brawl.

By this point though, we were in the 2010s and SMRPG was a distant memory. But that said, like many people are saying, Geno basically became a meme request, because it seemed so implausible. But then we got a costume in Smash 4, in 2014.

At this point, in current-day, like people said he now just remains one of the big three characters that everyone thought would never happen (Ridley, K. Rool where big "never" characters). But people cling to hope because there's been these tiny little teases of him for over 2 decades. some people think that if he were to appear in Smash, maybe we would finally see a sequel to SMRPG. some people just vividly remember him being a cool character from when they were a kid.

But basically, the fact that people can't have him, is what fuels them to want him.

My in-laws are awesome. I like them just as much, if not more than my own parents haha.

My mother-in-law is a really quiet, mellow Midwest lady (which is fun cuz we live in NY). And my father-in-law is like one of the nicest people I know, goofy and fun and has a really good sense of humor.

Best of all, both of them are super apolitical, they never bring up politics or any of that bullshit. And they're super supportive of both me and my wife

Well yeah, like I said, I'm used to the usual levels of simplicity that comes with Bokujou Monogatari. I don't mind the visuals.

As far as jank, like I said. I feel like dialogue trees are incomplete. I don't remember any recent entries that had so many characters that just say "Hello" or "What do you want?" with absolutely no variety. Maybe I got spoiled by ToT.

Like, I know Marvelous is small but everything about the game makes it feel like it was made by a team of 3 people lol.

It does though. The music cuts off really abruptly in a lot of scenes. Characters have veeery few animations. For that matter, seeing NPCs walking at blinding speed then just instantly disappear mid-cycle when they get to a door, is lolzy.

A lot of the character's dialogue trees seem busted or like they never fleshed them out. Like, half the villagers, when you talk to them, just say "Hello." and that's it.

I'm not knocking the game, just concerned lol. I've played almost all the BM games, and i know none feel like AAA games level of polish. But this me, more than others, feels kinda broken from my initial impressions.

Nah you have one farm. I don't remember any problems with getting around. I think it had an elephant taxi system for quick travel.

I think the only downside was the waifus were just okay. There wasn't a ton of them, despite having 3 towns. The ones that there were though, were pretty good. I married a cool laid back sleepy tropical chick with purple hair.

I played Friends of Mineral Town last night a bit. And uh, wow this game feels cheap lol. Like I know the Bokujou Monogatari games have never been AAA or a ton of polish or anything, but this one espeeecially feels super janky, to the point it almost feels unfinished :|

For those playing the EU version... It like, it's okay right? Lol. The game doesn't just break or anything does it?

What's so good about Trio of Towns?

As its name suggests, it contains three fully fleshed out villages, each one with its own culture. There's a western town, a Japanese town, and a tropical town. There's a tooooon of stuff to do, and the game has a lot of customization in it.

TBF games releasing this year probably aren't the ones that are gonna be affected by COVID delays. Rather, games that were mid-dev this year, aiming to complete next year, are the ones where we'll really see it.
