Regarding the tone, I don't think anyone here can say anything that won't spoil the game, so I would say to just do your best to keep playing since the ending has a huge payoff.

Thankfully I started to open the spoiler tag and then thought better of it since it was a different poster.

Originally I was simply stating one major spoiler for Danrop2 and clearly stated to TC not to open it, in hopes I could have a veteran determine if the spoiler would ruin my enjoyment of the game.

I don't know if anyone ever cleared it up for you, but that original spoiler you posted, really has no bearing on the overall plot. It's absolutely worth playing, even if you know that.

Gundham is so perfectly written. It's such a great intersection between taking himself too seriously and absolute nonsense, while still being a good guy deep down.

I love Ibuki too. She's a fun take on the genki girl archetype. So damn cute.

Wow, I hated that. Episode started off great and then got tame and kinda petered out.

Marie was a fun, unexpected Easter egg/cameo.

DR2 is basically just the first game but with better music, a more interesting setting, and much better characters.

Definitely give it a go.

Depending on how loose Gilligan wants to be with reality, maybe both Kim and Jimmy are charged, and the two of em land in a low-security prison that houses both men and women.

Final scene could play out showing split screen of them going through all the same stuff, parallel, and they meet up to talk through a fence in the activity yard or something and be like "Fuck."

It did. But it opened up other twists that you wouldn't've gotten if you didn't go into it with other knowledge from the anime.

DR1 yeah, it's very rushed and incomplete. But DR3 ain't bad. It gives a lot of expansion on the world.

Interestingly I ended up watching the prequel portion of DR3 before playing DR2, which some might say is blasphemy, but honestly I don't regret it.

TC, obviously do not read aaanything about the DR3 anime before finishing the first game lol.

I swear to God if Saul pulls a "I was the mastermind, Kim had nothing to do with it." and ends up being the only one who goes to jail, I'm gonna be piiiiiissed.

I feel like ending can really go one of two ways at this point.

Gene gets arrested, and when confronted with Kim's statement, he confesses and they both go to jail for a lonnnng time. IMO a happy ending lol.

Second outcome, Gene either doesn't get arrested, or does and outright denies the Kim statement, effectively telling her to fuck off, and getting away with everything which would be incredibly dark and unfulfilling.

Whatever it ends up, I hope something extravagant happens. Kim dies, Jimmy dies, they both die, etc... I want something EXCITING.

Also, did that scene with Kim and Jesse take place before Jesse & Walt got involved with Saul? Could she have been accidentally responsible for ultimately convincing them to get into him?

Holy shit Jimmy has officially stepped into Heisenberg, villain-antagonist territory with this almost final ep. Like, the Howard thing was up in the air side it was more Kim taking the lead with that. But threatening Carol Burnett like that was really uncomfortable.

I hope it ends with Kim and Jimmy both going to jail for the rest of their lives.

Yeah she's basically like a hybrid of Snake and ZSS. I've heard a lot of people really like her so far.

So far I've been maining Bugs, though I actually like Lebron James a lot too. I messed around with both Finn and Jake a bit as well too but nothing serious. The game is a pleasant surprise so far!

Yeah I didn't really like the ep either. I figured we would be getting an episode that takes place entirely in the future timeline, but I didn't expect it to be immediately now. I thought for sure we would be getting a Breaking Bad timeline episode from the perspective of Saul after the way last week ended.

This episode was kind of a drag.

I'm surprised that many people didn't know Gus is gay. I thought it was pretty well known at this point.

Game is fun! It's tricky cuz it plays soooo similarly to Smash but is just different enough that you can't just pretend you're playing Smash lol.

Right now my biggest adjustment is there not being a shield. I'm usually a defensive player so not having the ability to stall with a shield is throwing me off a little.

Then they went full on scheming and Jimmy just decides to have a change of heart with the Howard scheme but he could have easily stopped that one as well any time he wanted but didn't because of Kim.

Which is exactly what Kim was talking about when she said they're bad people together.

I think the difference if l in my mind is that Jimmy more or less stuck to mostly-harmless grifting for money, nothing grand.

Kim literally had a "ruin an innocent man's life" fetish which was gross for so many reasons, and ultimately led to the guy getting killed.

I know there's a big debate about to go down, so I'm gonna firmly plant my flag in the "Kim's a villain" camp.

Like, that's just kind of how media works. One charcter is the best/strongest/smartest/etc until a new one proves themselves better.
It's like Dragon Ball. Whatever new big bad that gets introduced has the absolute highest, must unthinkable power level of all time, and it's not possible for anyone to get stronger. (Until the next arc when someone does) Just instead of power levels, BBBCS has drugs and move-making.

Either way like I said earlier in this thread, his mistake was fighting on Gus's turf. Out on the streets, Lalo would win. He underestimated just how far ahead Gus would think in his own controlled areas. Like, her completely disarmed Gus. Who would think there could be a gun planted down there in a secret location meant to be hidden lol.

Lalo I figured was gonna end up buried in there anyways. But when they showed Howard's body too it really bummed me out. We know his body is never going to be recovered out of that place . His family and friends are going to be lead to believe he went on some cocaine bender and killed himself.
