Nowadays it isn't really seen as some deeply profound thing and I feel ironically it has more people chastising it for not being that and it has mostly balanced out to being treated fairly. Like as a hard hitting action action movie with a just good enough plot to keep you invested and some pretty cool world building it's awesome. As long as you're not trying to claim it's a lot more than that, then I don't feel you're really overrating it. NeoxTrinity does suck but whatever-- it doesn't take as much screentime as it could take. Nowadays I think more than Matrix being overrated I think I'm more in the camp of Reloaded being underrated, cause I mean, taking away the novelty of the world Matrix 1 built the plot isn't really a lot less coherent or anything, and I like the fight scenes and philosophy promos better there. Glad a lot of the write-ups gave it a shout out. --- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |

This same lack of awareness about a touchy subject plays out in the supposedly iconic scene where Marty takes the stage with a group of black musicians and a white high school. Of course, we know that small-town white folks in 1955 would never allow this to happen, and the room for social commentary between the decades is left empty. For me it's less about "lack of social commentary" and more that it breaks immersion or the feeling that we're actually in the 50s. There are a lot of things strewn throughout the film in the past that are basically things that feel straight out of the 80s. Something like this may come off as nitpicky to you but for me it's what keeps the movie from being legit really fun and unique and basically just makes it an above average generic 80s comedy. Generic 80s comedies aren't exactly my cup of tea. Gun to my head I still like the movie. But it could be a lot better. --- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |

I never liked it because the past in it doesn't really feel any different than the current day (the 80s) with a different coat of paint. There were a lot of movies and TV shows that had captured a feeling of "this is the past/future", even then. I always liked The Wonder Years for example largely because that felt like it was a past time. It's basically a generic comedy with a time travel gimmick. The time travel is wholly irrelevant to it. The only thing I can disagree with Scarlet on is dissing Doc Brown. He was fine for what he does. Dude being zany was the only high point of the movie --- No problem! I didn't notice a single mechanical difference between Ryu/Ken and Richter/Simon while playing their Classic modes. Lucina as a character still literally has no reason to exist. Villager is just an awful waste of space, as is Wii Fit Trainer. Why are Dark Pit and Dark Samus completely separate characters? Ryu can throw a red fireball with half circle forward and Ken throws a powered up axe kick instead. Ken's Shoryuken is significantly better as well in terms of damage and knockback. They've also got a fairly decent amount of different A attacks. I believe Ken's hurricane kick has a slightly different trajectory too. Basically they're about as different as you can expect them to be without them radically changing Ken for the sake of being different. If you actually play Street Fighter you can tell pretty easily. Can't speak for Richter/Simon as I haven't unlocked Richter yet but I imagine there are a lot of differences there too. --- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |

I suppose Mega Man has a slightly better chance on the off chance that Crono was SFFed by Cloud, but I'm not convinced that actually is a thing that happens based on previous matches involving CT/FF guys. Cloud with 56.12% Samus vs Mario With Smash hype at an all time high, and Samus now 0-2 against Mario (I'm pretty sure this is at least partially why Crono/Mario 04 was not close at all), it's time for the Samus miracle run to begin, and in convincing fashion. I think Samus is going to go big on the swing as she's basically got every intangible in her corner. Mario's got negative momentum from losing to Zelda, Mario is way less the favorite in Smash, and people remember past results and want Samus to win at this point. As the board's foremost expert on Mario vs Samus matches, having called both percentages within 1.5%, when both were WACKY RESULTS, you can trust me on this one. You will not be disappointed!
