that seems hard to do, I only did one or two cases but I remember it being way too easy to read someone's facial expressions wrong and use the wrong reaction.

So much 'opposite day' in this topic.

Playing Starfield now and find myself reminiscing on Mass Effect 2 when I had so many crew members that I thought were cool (Kasumi was mysterious, Miranda was a bad @%# and people were actually scared of Samara).

I didn't get Legion until near the end of the game but I would have saved his pet on another planet too if I had the chance.

Also playing a lot of Starfield recently and it is depressing that this extremely enormous game has like no soul at all. So I do wish it had... more likeable companions like ME2 I guess.

Seems like the logical move for them since it's one of the few MGS games not available on PC and I'm sure people would eagerly buy it (like myself). Instead of wasting time releasing half-assed ports of the originals...

I've played Runescape since the original game came out but I will not touch Old School. Just too much progress and time invested in the main branch. Also the easter event this year is pretty dope.

It is also a shame about Shroud of the Avatar, which is an MMO originally crafted by Richard Garriott himself. It had some interesting old school mechanics to it but failed to gain a lot of traction, and I think he got outed from the project at the end of the day. It's still around but I don't know who plays it.

I watched through the whole Alien series this year, and then circled back and watched all of the Predator movies. I 100% recommend Alien through Alien Resurrection. Prometheus and Covenant: they have extremely fascinating premises but fail to deliver on what could have been really deep themes. As a result they end up just being vehicles for events happening and people dying and it's not that interesting.

For the Predator movies, I would recommend Predator, Predator 2, Alien vs. Predator, and Prey.

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem was too dark, had a completely different tone than the original, and didn't really do anything to contribute to the world. Predators had a few good action sequences and plot twists to it but overall it was just a really bland idea - random people who you never really care too much about end up on a planet being hunted by Predators and they're just trying to survive. And The Predator was a borderline family drama with generic and awful "commentary" about the military, and way too much terrible comedy to take seriously. It has Keegan-Michael Key in it, I think that probably says enough (I like the guy for the most part but he's a comedian and... he's basically just telling jokes the whole movie.

I can retire from the military in like three years. Won't be enough to live on but it'll be something and I'll probably get a job after that for a while. Definitely stuffing money in my TSP and a regular investment account too (I know I should have done an IRA but I like the liquidity of a regular account idk).

But I have a problem with mine now. I logged on yesterday and messed around for a couple of minutes, went and updated my password. Then I went to log on again an hour later and it said that after 2022 all accounts needed to update their password, and it won't take the new one that I just entered...

I should really go to bed but I'm going to load up one of these games...

Or not. I just updated my password as the first thing I did when logging in and now it's telling me invalid password.

Taught honestly about STD risks, transmission, symptoms and dangers. Taught about all the different types of birth control options out there, did the infamous condom on a banana demonstration. I'm sure there was more but that's what I remember, was a pretty candid discussion, at least at the high school level.

All I remember from elementary school (and *maybe* middle school but I don't even remember having it there) was moreso about reproductive health in general, like the different organs that exist.

Apparently the 25th anniversary is in 240 days.

I also haven't seen Snapple in a long ass time. And also used to love the stupid Snapplefacts, would take turns quizzing coworkers at lunch back in the day with those things.

I remember traveling around trying to collect items for my shop before the bots came in and basically demolished that (I don't know if they ever fixed that). Also remember the player-owned theme park before they discontinued it. There were a couple girls back in school that I was crushing on so I mostly played it because of them, never did anything too great though. My account is still alive but of course my pets are dying.

Yeah I loved the tea ones, the milky one was weird to me. I remember how hard the news reported on how unhealthy they were... I wonder how they compare to modern day energy drinks and that shit at Panera that gives people heart attacks.

I use reddit more often but no specific board. I have an account on a spin-off of a shutdown spin-off of a certain board here, and I was going there for a little bit but honestly... I've never felt like I really belonged there or here or anywhere, but over there it's just particularly more toxic so I left. Don't know if I'd go back, but *maybe*.

So embarrassed, just killed a guy who walked into my line of fire as I was trying to get a bug trying to flank him... normally I don't think it would be that terrible but it was right as the drop ship was landing for extraction -_-. Threw a reinforce beacon and he was able to get in but still fml

I knew people at my tech school (military) who were too addicted to MMOs and were not completing homework/studying enough to complete it.

I honestly don't remember my very first MMO too well, it was a multi-user text-based game. All I remember was trying to make my username Assassin and it said that it contained censored words so I shortened it to Asasin >_>

After that I played a lot of Phantasia IV, which is also text based, based on Lord of the Rings if I'm not mistaken. Apparently somehow that is still kickin'.

After *THAT* I got into Runescape, which was my first real regular MMORPG

I've had that happen to me and I just record the fact that the individual received the (or refused) the negative feedback and push it to the next level if necessary.

Bought the special trilogy that came out fairly recently. But haven't touched it yet.

I played through the original game as a good guy. Tried to play it a second time as a bad guy, but "bad guy" in that game meant being a SDIQ and an insufferable a-hole.

Played maybe 2/3 of the second one before I realized it's all just about doing missions for a bunch of crewmembers I didn't care about.

Think this is my favorite faction storyline if only because it starts by you being kidnapped by the UC and being blackmailed/extorted into the whole thing. And then you can just go around and kill a bunch of UC dudes on the missions and totally destroy their reputation and plans. Ultimate payback.

I don't even remember the other factions that much and I'm pretty sure I did all ... three or four of them.

Just tried a few Bot missions (only level 5 so far), and holy shit they are so much more difficult than the bugs. And annoying. I hate those Commissar things.

This is definitely not true. That's kind of like saying you only ever need a pneumatic jackhammer for every home improvement project because it can essentially do whatever a screwdriver or hammer might accomplish. If all you have are nuclear missiles, then you cannot really adequately respond to most threats. Also the military does other stuff like humanitarian aid and protecting shipping and disaster relief.

Anyway I guess my furthest right viewpoint would be that there should be limitations to free speech, specifically definitions of hate speech should be expanded and we shouldn't tolerate pro-Nazi/pro-fascism language or attitudes.

I can see what the hype is about, just played a few missions, hit level 4. I was so lost on my first mission but now I'm getting the idea. Seems like it takes forever to get those materials for upgrading your ship modules though :(

I love how the strategems work and how you interact with things in the missions to activate new ones. Like the last one I did we activated and loaded an artillery gun for massive damage.

Caved and bought the game, never played the first one, just keep seeing so many damn articles about 2.

I saw someone post that on reddit and I schooled them (politely) on why the logic is flawed. Really need to have some sort of financial education courses in public schools for real.

Pagan Ultima 8 was one of my favorite games as a kid, even though I sucked ass at it and barely understood anything. That execution scene in the beginning beats out most modern games by a mile.

It gets better. It bugged me that a lot of the action choreography in the first felt so copy-and-paste (how many times can you watch Keanu Reeves flip a guy on the ground, shoot someone in the head, then shoot the guy on the ground in the head, then peak back and forth around corners or peoples' heads while... shooting people). But they did a good job branching out and making the sequels a little more engaging I think.

When you say "free", you mean the Free Trial, right? I've read a lot of people are getting the Starter Edition through Game Pass "for free" but that's just putting them on track to a subscription fee once that "free" period ends.

I was pretty spoiled by some Star Wars mod for Battlefield 1942 that did Battlefront a million times better than Battlefront.

I don't fully believe the "we've solved cancer" thing because of that concept of Multiple Discovery that states that when one individual or group comes to some scientific discovery or invention, there's usually other individuals or groups coming to the same conclusions around the same time.

The withholdings are, but aren't. My wife's state taxes are withheld but we get it reimbursed at the end of the year, it's just easier than dealing with all the paperwork the state requires to get an exemption (and you have to submit that paperwork every year, too, so it's not really that convenient). Similarly I could just stop tax withholding for my military pay but I would prefer to keep it going for now especially as I branch out and get more non-military pay that *is* taxed. It's just easier to keep pushing tax returns the way I've been doing this whole time than try to play a numbers game.
