Most millennials and zoomers wont be able to retire period. But I wont actually reach that age, and it will have likely been abolished by the anyway, so its moot to me.

Retirement at 60 is the plan and on track.

Good job, no wife, and no kids makes it a wee bit more attainable.

Didn't think so in my 20's but rolling into year 39 pretty sure I will. I'm cheap as fuck I somehow managed to pull a six figure income with very little to offer the world have no kids or desire to have them and I'm handy with a wrench and diy.

I can retire from the military in like three years. Won't be enough to live on but it'll be something and I'll probably get a job after that for a while. Definitely stuffing money in my TSP and a regular investment account too (I know I should have done an IRA but I like the liquidity of a regular account idk).

I wont have any close family by then so the state can do what it wants with my body. Dump it in the sea with no fanfare for all I care.

Not really a issue. Being creamated. The question should be who will carry out my wishes. If I recover from my current health issues who will be there at the end. After my friend where it's was just me and other friend putting her to rest. It's worrying. My friend even brought it up.

Yup, I've been making extra payments on the house so I'll have my 30 year mortgage paid off in 17 years which is only 12 years from now. I've also been building a TSP/401k for the last 21 years. I'll be sitting pretty when I hit 50.

I don't think most millennials are broke.
But I do agree that they will see a large influx of cash due to inheritance.

In the US, it's only taxed if it's above like 11 million. We should decrease that threshold and tax it earlier tbh.

If I stay at my current job working for local government I can retire in 25-30 years with pension. And free health insurance. So I think I'll be okay... Putting money into a 401k, too.
