I thought this was about your son until you mentioned alcohol...!

What kind of rewards are you willing to give to eat more? When I was a kid we had the Clean Plater's Club (tm) where if we ate everything then we'd get a piece of candy afterward too. Maybe there's a variation for adults that could suit your needs.

Anyway, my thought's a desktop but it's changed from circumstance to circumstance. Basically, I had to have a laptop when I had roommates or lived in NYC, but when I'm living alone and feel more comfortable committing a dedicated space to the tech I gotta have a desktop. I have my five-year-old laptop and iPad if I need to travel, plus my phone. My mobile needs are comfortable now and they would still be comfortable if I lost the tablet...I'd say my laptop too, except I want to write on the road sometimes. Phone's helped a ton in those needs.

Alao, on longetivity of laptops: I had a laptop fry theee years into it after buying it new, and I had a laptop my dad who's not computer literate bought used from a stranger for $250 that lasted ten years. That has always struck me as a tech miracle.

Also I like to be ahead of the game with replacing a machine. Nothing sucks worse than having one die and not having a replacement on deck. The waiting is awful. I'm back in school too so not having a way to do work would be bad.

you just plug the controller in a usb port

yeah, seriously. even the PS4 controller is an official option on Steam now.

It's so much better now than the old days. Anybody else have to buy shoddy-looking SNES wannabe controllers to play Jazz Jackrabbit and whatever you were emulating?

But okay, about episode 3:

It was an all-around nice episode that ended with a few seconds that warps my understanding of everything that's happened the past three episodes. Just...shit. I thought Chloe and Rachel were going to own their house for a happy ending of sorts, and instead she's crippled.

I don't see much purpose on hypothesizing on what's changed and what's the same -- my relationships are either clean slates or mysteries I'll be blindsided by. Nathan's my biggest concern of seeing if he has changed much or not.

I hope Kate's okay now. I didn't think to look for her when they were smoking in the Vortex club huddle.

From a gameplay perspective, I'll be reeeeaaaal curious to see if I can delve into the past of any more photos or not.

Episode 3:

Left the money
Kissed Chloe
Sided with Chloe
Parking lot-throw
Chloe has the gun (is this insinuating I could have taken the gun back if I let Frank have it in Episode 2?)

Lisa died (plant named Lisa, how cute -- I name my plants too)
"Helped" Warren's exam score
Made the Vortex party list
Erased names from the same list
Erased voicemail
Didn't help Alyssa (didn't understand how to help)
Didn't warn the homeless woman (I DID THOUGH! Must have rewound back too far)
Didn't take a photo in the past (ditto -- again, too much rewinding)
No mark on the fireplace (saw the snowglobe that I assume Chloe had in Episode 1 though)

I had two vents I could open with a knife, then after I opened one I couldn't open the other even after I rewound. Little lame.

Still, showed Chloe Rachel's pictures with Frank and she wasn't happy. Frank's gonna have a hard time leaving without those keys!

I think the point is that cops are the ultimate enforcers when it comes to the streets. You aren't going to overturn any sort of charge they may present to you until you're taken away and resisting will likely risk worse charges or safety. Once you're arrested, your next ultimate enforcer is the judge. That's the system we're in, with socia media making a weird sort of intervention in this lately.

The nurse was screaming she was doing her job and this is crazy -- screaming is pretty well fine by me. If she ran or attacked, then I don't think that's okay even though she was innocent before the cop tried to arrest her.

We don't shoot to kill however. That's why the protocol of every major police department is to handcuff the guy after the threat is subdued (because as ridiculous as it seems in some instances the person is still under arrest for whatever actions necessitated the shooting until a medical professional can pronounce him; plus since we're subduing and not executing people like the media would have you believe, their still a potential threat until cuffed) and to provide immediate medical attention.

You've helped clarify the medical/handcuff point with me before and I appreciate that.

I guess I also understood that cops are not supposed to shoot unless it is with the intention of killing because hitting a hand holding a gun or hitting a knee from someone behind cover is much too hard to expect accuracy in the moment for. Is this a misunderstanding? Care to elaborate?

LOL X-STATS

I get this is light-hearted, but it's fun to point out GameFAQs had like sixty-three worldwide one-on-one polls every year for when x-stats were at their most important. Hillary/Bernie had one primary poll per state and the Republican party never had fewer than three candidates in each primary poll. They eventually had one nationwide poll one day months away after the majority of their previous polls.

Am I saying GameFAQs was better at getting reliable x-stats? Maybe.

Thought about it! I didn't play much of the Stick of Truth -- I bought it for my roommates as a favor and loved watching then play, but the map system was a constant annoyance for me so I didn't play long after watching them beat it. I also don't think trying it on its hardest difficulty was a good call since it felt like it just made enemies more like damage-sponges. I'll retry it sometime. This is before considering how South Park talks about people who pre-order.....

That said, if after a few days into its release people are still big into it, I'll probably hop on.

I don't think Bernie or Hillary wanted this, and the same goes for if Bernie offered Hillary a VP position.

Still, yes, I think Hillary could have done better if she reached out to progressives more. I voted for her because she allowed some progressive viewpoints to get into the DNC platform, even though I didn't trust her to follow through all the way on them. It would have been nice to see, say, Warren be her VP choice instead of the wet sweatervest that was Tim Kaine.

All Lives Matter = supporting the obvious
Blue Lives Matter = supporting the powerful

Neither are wrong, but neither are as necessary. Neither have an end-goal and neither existed before Black Lives Matter.

Black Lives Matter = supporting the suppressed

And just to be clear: out of all/blue/black, which one has been historically attacked the most? I sympathize with Corrik in that as an NAACP member I do think black communities have made lots and lots of progress in the past fifty years, but there are some still-real issues that cost people their lives and bring distrust in one of our most necessary institutions.

I've long believed that Bernie did the Democratic party a disservice by saying "i don't care about your damn emails." that was going to come long and hard in the general election (and apparently a year later, ugh) and he stopped it from being an issue early on. it might have even won him the nomination, who knows.

I'm not sure what inspired this...it's interesting to think about but I don't think I agree. Hillary already had plenty of distrust. I do think Bernie would be less influential today if he had done that in 2015 though.

When you use it as a counter-movement to Black Lives Matter, it is.

Same for All Lives Matter. Also same for making attacking police officers a hate crime like they did in Louisiana. I think it was already a felony that's above attacking a regular citizen (which I'd agree with), but making hate crimes based around wearing the badge is a bad move unless you want to make the argument that other jobs will be protected too.

Black Lives Matter is for civil rights, and these counter movements have hijacked their names and protections to largely use against them.

Pretty good list, other than that I've never heard of LISA the Painful.

LISA the Painful is a status-based RPG that lacks some polish but also somehow benefits from being raw. Tonewise, think anti-Undertale. Pretty sure it'll inspire somebody one day to make a more mainstream masterpiece.

If you can deal with occasionally walking off cliffs by accident and an extreme clash of light/dark humor, it's cheap enough to be worth a shot (skip the DLC though).
