No, it's definitely public. It's even at the public elementary school (Where they'll be starting next year)

I mean you pay when you go to the DMV.

But there's still an extra charge for enrollment?

Here you pay based on how many days your kids go to pre-school. Between 2 and 5 days a week. (We send our two five days a week, because we want them to get the most out of it.)

Not sure how it is elsewhere, but here (Massachusetts) public preschool is mainly for kids with special needs. Roughly half the kids in each class are special needs, and they get in based on need and availability. Their families don't pay because the school gets Medicaid funding for them.

The rest of the kids are typical, which helps the special needs kids because they model skills & behavior, and as far as I know it's basically a lottery to determine who gets a spot. Their families pay because Medicaid doesn't.

So Equifax was breached, ~150M Americans had their personal info including SSN's, B-days, and names comprimised, and what did the top three financial people at the company do just a few days after they discovered it but before they revealed it?

Did you guess sell off shares totaling approximately $1.8M?

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-09-07/three-equifax-executives-sold-stock-before-revealing-cyber-hack

And they weren't part of any scheduled 10b5-1 scheduled trades. Blatant insider trading that will probably have fuck all repercussions for these fucks.

I am not horribly surprised. Trump was always a borderline democrat before anyways.

If he can accomplish the legislature I want to see, I do not care which side he accomplishs it by.

Tax Cut
Corporate taxes lowered
Infrastructure bill
Stronger immigration policies
Leveling trade playing fields. (Plays a lot into corporate tax)
Lessening of environmental regulations in aspects.
Strengthening of military and lessening of federal aid to other countries and welfare at home.

Why do conservatives hate the environment so much?

I mean I get that they love money. That's understandable. I mean it's what gives them power. But no matter how much money they have, they can't buy fresh air. And while they can buy fresh water--they won't be able to when it's all polluted up.

Just wondering if he feels it is "instant karma" that Florida is getting a hurricane right after he said they deserved one and Florida too.

I saw the tweet before but the gist was...

The professor also declared that Florida residents who voted for Trump “deserve” the suffering visited upon Texas by Hurricane Harvey this weekend.

There's three main factors that feed into GOP climate denial:

1) An awful lot of Republicans are also Evangelicals, who believe the end of the world is near, the book of Revelations is literal truth, and that the environment doesn't matter because they're going to be Raptured up to heaven any day now.

2) Environmental protections mean environmental regulations, which hurt corporations' bottom lines. Republicans are the party of big business; ergo, GOP politicians can solicit or earn big corporate donations by pretending we aren't fucking up the world and haven't already fucked it up irreperably.

3) Liberals believe in climate change, and for a not-insignificant number of Republicans anything liberals believe in is automatically wrong and evil.

So to answer your question, I don't think anyone actually hates the environment - it's just that they have (for them) adequate reasons to not care about protecting it.

People like that do exist but most people have actual reasons for what they believe in.

This is no different than someone in these topics saying a Liberal can't commit a hate crime and that it automatically makes them a part of the right.
