Even Miyamoto thinks so. A lot of people keep saying that Mario USA is just reskinned Doki Doki Panic but Doki Doki Panic itself was built on top of the Original Mario 2 prototype that Nintendo forced Miyamoto to shelve because NoJ suits wanted a sequel out faster than what Miyamoto's original ideas were going to take. So he rehashed what they had in "vs Super Mario Bros" (the arcade game) to create the Lost Levels.

In reality, America got the Super Mario Bros 2 that Miyamoto wanted to make all along.

Besides what you two said, let's face it. Even with some licensed games getting a release past the 2000s, such are still not a guarantee to be often even if based on major properties.

So even Doki Doki Panic might not be as big in Japan, thus had the Lost Levels been the only SMB 2, we would have had another good licensed game slipping through the cracks of history.

My brain has invented so many entire Metroidvanias in my dreams.

I could always swear DeSantis was the name of a super villain but could never remember who.

• I played a Legend of Zelda game. I found a hidden passage where I (Link) was promptly gunned down by a man with an automatic weapon.
• I played a Mega Man X game on Super Nintendo. I tried again and again to beat a metallic dragon boss, but woke up before I could do it. When I woke up, I was pissed that I'd never get a rematch.
• I had a sequel dream to the Mega Man X dream months later. I was consciously aware that it was a dream and kept repeating, "Don't wake up! Don't wake up!" as I pumped energy blasts into the metallic dragon and finally defeated it.
• I was playing a Mario "edutainment" game where the enemies could not hurt you (just like in Mario is Missing). I had to admit that this version, which featured overworld sprites like in the original Super Mario RPG, had good background details.
• Last Christmas season, I had a dream that I was playing an old WCW wrestling game and lost when Buff Bagwell pinned my tag partner while I was out of the ring fighting someone else. I forget who I was playing as, but I recall Hollywood Hogan was in the match. The next day, I popped in an actual WCW game (I don't remember which one) and pinned Bagwell in retaliation.
• Recently, I had a dream about finding a hidden coin room in Bowser's castle in Super Mario World.
• Last night, I dreamt that I was playing Yoshi's Island. There were enemy frogs that had little mini-frogs hopping after them, Blarggs/Nep-Enuts that were quadrupedal, and enemy Yoshis that were purple. It felt a lot like playing the actual game.

For once I want what he wants

That's why we got a reskinned Doki Doki Panic.

People want a Mario-esque Dark Souls game.

Republicans right now are like Shooter McGavin trying to steal Happy Gilmore's jacket. It's nearing time for the crowd to catch up to him in the parking lot.

I do like the second and fourth movies. Even Rambo III had a few good moments like the helicopter attack on the village. I just consider the first one to be the best.

Hell yeah, there was. It was a Gameboy game and I remember it being hard as shit, but I loved it as a kid. I'm not sure if I was ever able to beat it.

I remember finding the disc for a Blade game on the original Xbox just laying out on the streets.
I took it back home and was surprised that it still worked. But the game was such an unfunny, sack of cat shit that I just ended up throwing it back out.
