Would like it better if it was a Captain Marvel story about her destroying the AI and the aftermath right when it happened.

I wouldnt say that shes the only one with personality, but Iman obviously has a blast with her role and that kind of exuberance just cant be matched. Kamalas fangirling over Captain Marvel and Imans fangirling over being Ms Marvel are one and the same, and she steals most of the scenes shes in as a result.

That said, this is also a much better chance for Brie Larson to act a bit more human than she was allowed to in Captain Marvel, and while I think she loses a little bit of screentime since she has to share with two other characters, she also gets some character scenes that feel more natural than she got in the first movie, and that helps a lot.

Its not a groundbreaking Marvel film, but its absolutely a fun one. It doesnt take itself too seriously, and the film is mich better for it. And there were some scenes that the only reason I wasnt laughing out loud is because the theater really enforces its quiet policy. As a fun romp thats just there to be a good time, the movie absolutely succeeds.

The only real problem is the villain, and thats nothing new for Marvel unfortunately. Doesnt hit the lows of Thor 2s villain whose name I cant even remember, but shes definitely the low point of the film.

What kind of authoritarian policy is that? You can't even laugh??

Alamo Drafthouse, they want the theater experience to be enjoyable for everyone and so they have a low-tolerance for talking or loud sounds. I mean, I probably would have been fine, and they give a warning if youre being disruptive, but its also part of the appeal. Other theaters like AMC there can be a lot of noise from people who arent quiet, and it is rather obnoxious to have to deal with that.

It's really fun. A lot of the stiltedness of the first movie, where they didn't really know what type of personality they wanted Danvers to have, is gone.

There is only one mid credits scene, so just be aware.

I thought the movie was a solid B overall. Going a light-hearted route helped and, as an earlier poster stated, Iman really steals the show.

The movie has the typical superhero issues but most can be overlooked. My biggest issue was everything dealing with the singing planet. Super cringe and can be ripped apart on so many levels.

Alamo is my favorite theater to go to, and I've never once seen them come down on laughing when it's appropriate/everyone is. As long as it's not a constant, drunk obnoxious laughter. Do they actively do so at yours, or were you just worried?

They call the theater a "quiet zone" but then the employees are running back and forth right in front of you to take and deliver orders. Bitch I'm trying to watch a movie, no I don't want to order a $15 popcorn. Get out the way.

Yeah, while the cringe was minimal, basically all of it was centered around the singing planet. But as another poster said, it wasn't too much or too long with that.
My main issue was calling the wristbands Quantum Bands, and getting the second one then not letting Kamala keep it.
I loved the tight and fast editing. I was very pleased overall.

Fun.
Ms Marvel was the heart of the movie. It was able to fill the void captain marvel being soldier, take no prisoners. Actually felt more for Carol Danvers as she wanted to finish the mission before going home. Her powers made her the weapon she is but shes still human... imagine if her enemies knew how much heart she got.

Monica Rambeau was a nice refreshing new hero that probably surpassed Carol in duty and kinda fostered the teamwork.

They worked well because the team trained their strengths as a cohesive trio well.

I too thought we just got enough and hoped for more scenes of the trio development. The flerkens... i mean captain marvel + goose was enough tbh

Again, pretty fun movie. I am a fan of what they did.Hope this style of mcu movie dont sour the production of the next mcu movies.

I've only seen bits of the movie (work at a theater), and while very weird and kind of dumb in a plot way, I absolutely loved the way Ms. Marvel and Carol reacted to the situation, Nick Fury's idea, and the PA announcements made me laugh.

This, it's easily up there with MoM and NWH. On top of Carol getting a lot of character development that people have been complaining she was missing, although those people will probably still complain since that was always a weak subjective argument to begin with.
