No you won't!

One you start fighting gyms and putting your Pokemon in gyms to defend them you will earn coins.

You earn 1 coin for every 10 minutes that your Pokemon is guarding the gym.

You don't get one could ever 10 minutes however. You get it all paid out at one when you're Pokemon gets kicked out by another team and your pikemen returns to you.

So if it's in the gym 30 minutes you would get 3 coins.

You can only earn 50 coins per day. So if you already earned your 50 for a day and someone kicks out a Pokemon of yours that had been in it's gym for 12 hours you get nothing. But if that same Pokemon had lasted until midnight before being kicked then it would have earned you your 50 for the following day.

So you want to guard gyms that are out of the way enough that they aren't changing hands every 15 minutes, but aren't SO out of the way that your Pokemon sits there for over a week.

I'm usually pretty consistent with my gym guarding so I get my 50 most days. Probably averaging around 300 a week.

So essentially, because CP is a reflection of stats then one 2500 could Pokemon will be otherwise identical to another, right? Even if one is alow level, but high IV legendary and the other is high level, low IV something else.

Right?

They only difference will be the breakdown of stats that lend themselves to that total.

And because the CP formula favors attack then you could pack more total stats into a low attack Pokemon and still have it clock in under the CP break points.

how do you check ivs

On Android I use an app called Calcy IV

It doesn't violate Niantic's roles by accessing their servers, it merely reads your screen.

When you have the app open in the background it overlays a button onto your screen.

If you press that button while you are viewing a Pokemon it will determine what Pokemon it is, what the CP is and it will read the level bar to determine what level it is. Then based on the CP it gives you a range of IVs.

So you might scan something and it will tell you that it's IVs are between 77-91%. And then you can do the appraisal feature and it will take that information and refine it further. Often between the initial scan and the appraisal it would know the exact IVs between 0-15 for all 3 stats. Sometimes there will be more than one possible combination of IVs so you can either be content with the small range or you can power the Pokemon up and try again.

If you are an Android user as well I can cover Calcy IV in greater detail if you want (I love it) but to my knowledge it doesn't exist on iOS so Apple people use something similar but not exactly the same.

I just won't open the gift that you send me when we're within a few days of a tier up. Then I just make sure not to send you a gift after you open one taking is to 1 day away so I have complete control of the timing for the tier.

I have a couple of each Lugia and ho-oh now, but no shiny.

I'd have more but my wife and I planned a trip for this weekend so we didn't have the time available too spend the whole weekend raiding. No regrets because it was still a fun trip, but it would have been nice if Niantic hadn't scheduled it on the weekend we absolutely couldn't do much about.

I don't think there's a universal answer. You have to look at the dps and energy gain of their basic moves, the energy efficiency of their charged moves, and their HP.

Community day moves tend to be powerful/efficient. Beyond that I don't know offhand, but I saw a Reddit spreadsheet of various moves' efficiency for pvp. Don't have the link atm on mobile.

I opened my first mystery box on the way to work today. Caught 18 meltan and used a pinap on each so I'm a bit over 120 candy. It'll take about 3 weeks to have enough to evolve so I hope I found a good IV one by them. Best today was a 78%. I'll probably just send that one too the switch to be my unevolved version on there.

Because you caused everyone to follow you from target to target to target, so their movement from one to the other was immaterial.

There was the SAME amount of chris-induced movement from scum red to scum scare, as there was from scum scare to town jedi.

But players had given their thoughts on red.
And players had given their thoughts on scare.

And players had say "hrmm, who is that" about Jedi, with no alignment indicative thoughts whatsoever.

They followed you to jedi because you are chris. Scum may have followed you because it gave them an excuse to not lynch scare, but that is utterly indistinguishable from town following you because they don't have any better ideas day 1 and here you are commanding all the attention in the world so why not?

Han, I made a read that scare would not fake in that position, because it didn't feel like there was any real pressure on him to claim.

That read, was wrong. But I made it, and I stuck with it. And I knew that at the very least, if it WAS wrong, he was literally sacrificing himself by making it so he'd be dead the next day.

I admitted during the day that it had the potential to be wrong, but I made a choice and I stuck to it.

From there I was onboard with the Pendragon lynch, but I couldn't bring myself to do it based on the weirdness of "Ben says that Terra kinda maybe countered, but then wasn't around for a significant chunk of time to confirm the counter", so the follow up lynch should have been Pendragon every singe time, and it sucks that it wasn't. And then the following day Pendragon was clearly the choice so I'm still not sure how that got screwed up.

But the bottom line for myself is I need to be more willing to play outside the lines when there is a play that seems "logical" in front of me, so that is my takeaway from this game.

@DoomTheGyarados I don't want to hear it from you after the way you handled the day 1 lynch. An inactive? At the very end of the day?? A lynch that told us nothing about nobody? I was right about Red. You were right about Scare. You could have used your ability to force town to do what you want to kill EITHER one of them, and you switch to an inactive in the final hours of the day. We learned nothing from that lynch.

I'm willing to cop to the mistakes I make during games, and there are certainly a few, but this was an empirical mistake on your part. And it's not just a results based mistake because of how the alignments happened to fall, but a true mistake in the sense that we would have learned more from a town lynch on red or scare than we would from a random flip on jedi one way or the other.

The meltan quest line is absolutely atrocious.

It has "catch/evolve X or Y" at a bunch of different stages, and unless you ran through it very very fast you end up stuck on Task pages for things that are barely spawning in.

Yeah, they upped the spawn rate of all those things for a window of time, and yeah they had some quests that lent themselves towards some of them as well, but unless you could dedicate all the time necessary before they unflipped those switches you are just SoL.

Page 3 has "Catch a Ditto". Which was the reward for the "Let's go: make an excellent throw" task, but unless you knew that and you saved one of those reward turn ins you are stuck waiting for an actual ditto which could take days or weeks.

Page 4 has "catch 5 steel type", which depending on where you live is freaking awful. Yeah they had magnemite's encounter rate turned up, but if you didn't get to this page until later on, you will be stuck on this one for a long time as well.

Page 5 has evolve a grimer, and the evolve ones are generally terrible. If I have a perfect or near perfect IV grimer, chances are I already turned it into a Muk. And so now I have to catch enough other grimers, to evolve a presumably shitty IV'd one into a Muk just for the pleasure of wasting 50 candy. This page also has "Catch 5 Gulpin or Slugma". Gulpin encounter rate was sky high, but again, if you get to this page later, you are pretty SoL. Slugma is rather uncommon and except for the event spawning I don't think I've seen a wild Gulpin.

Page 6 has evolve a magnemite, which is the same complaint as the evolve a grimer one. I don't WANT to waste 50 candy evolving a shitty magnemite That's 13 catch+release of a relatively rare pokemon. Why can't there just be a "Show the Professor your Magneton" button and have that count the same? See, look, here is my 98% IV magneton I made forever ago, and that should count! This page also has catch 5 exeggcute. And this is where I've been stuck. I got to this page the last day of the altered spawn rates, and I caught 4 exeggcute. I am still at 4/5. But even when I get PAST this page, because one will show up eventually, there is no end in fucking sight.

Page 7:
Evolve 1 Drowzee
Catch 1 Cubone
Evolve 1 Scyther

Same complaint for the evolving. I don't even have a good scyther in my possession currently. I barely have 40 scyther candy so i'm currently walking the shitty scyther I do have so when I reach this page I'll be able to spend ALL my candy to make a badly statted Scizor. Standard evolution complaint for drowzee as well, but at least I have a few hundred of those candy so it wont be as bad.

Page 8:
And the crap cherry on top of the crap sundae.
Catch 2 Omanyte or Kabuto
Catch 2 Lileep or Anorith
Catch an Aerodactyl

Like, fucking WHAT? Of this page Omanyte and Kabuto will actually be the easiest, because there is a random spot in town where water types spawn in for seemingly no reason. There is no discernible body of water causing it, it just happens and always has, so I can spend a few hours there until the omanye and kabuto spawn. But Lileep? I never see them. Anorith? I never see them. Aerodactyl? I fucking NEVER see them. When I even get to this page I'm going to be stuck here for actually MONTHS.

And yes, all of these things spawned in regularly enough during the event. And Aerodactyl was one of the encounters for a field quest, but you had to know which one and you had to save the encounter knowing that you would need it.

This is the most absurd of all the special research.

Pendragon claimed doc yesterday. Terra indicated she didn't believe and Ben too that to be a counter claim. Terra then proceeded to not be around that final day of day4 to confirm if it was actually a counter claim or not so we lynched the prosty instead.

Terra has now also claimed doc and has generally seemed better this game than Pen.

I made a list of claims during day 4 somewhere not o don't have time to find it. But you can host Ctrl+f my posts and you should stumble across it.

Harris we are in the end game here,a replacement at this juncture is a pretty crappy move. If we mislynch at any point it's probably gg and if we lunch perfectly every day I think we're still closer to the end than the beginning.
