Objectively, HG/SS.

Personally, though, I'll always prefer Crystal; along with the obvious nostalgia, GSC also has my favorite visual style in the series.

DS remakes, no debate.

It takes the best parts of Crystal and adds it to an improved post-game. And the physical-special split is there too. I don't care about nostalgia, I care about function.

the positives of Teddiursa/Growlithe are laughably irrelevant compared to the vast array of everything else. Same for Natures, especially when there's next to no competitive environment outside of Generation VII now.
