As a person that wanted nothing more but more Dragon's Dogma, I loved the game. It was mostly what I wanted in a sequel. I'm not in love with the changes to Magick Archer and removing my boy Assassin, but the new classes fit the bit well. The post-game is fine, but really missing the feedback loop from the original game. No Ur Dragon? The fuck? I'm also pleased as all hell that they took what I considered to be just a gameplay mechanism designed to keep you from swimming and exploring - the brine - and actually made it part of the core story this time around.

All in all, a solid 7/10 game. Performance is a bit naff in towns, but it's fine outside of towns.

It's a great time. The exploration is wonderful and that under layer of jank makes things unpredictable in a silly way. The thief class is basically the assassin and it's OP as hell so I didn't mind it being gone. Mystic Spear hand is a lot of fun to play as well.

Good times so far but they really need to make fast travel a bit more accessible. Yeah I have a bunch of ferry stones but some more ox carts would do wonders

7/10 seems fair. Felt it was pretty disrespectful with my time.

I've enjoyed it a great deal, the combat is first rate (although a hard mode wouldn't go amiss), the classes are nicely varied, and the world is beautiful.

Sure, you'll never give a stuff about any of the NPCs and the story is threadbare, but the first game wasn't any different on that score.

8/10 for me, but I love DD and especially the pawn mechanic, which likely accounts for the extra point.

Very much hope we get an expansion with new enemies, loot etc at some point.

What turns me off most in Dragons Dogma 2 so far is...

exploration feels nice, but strangely unrewarding.

I can count the good gear I found and actually used on one hand, because most of the time the items in the stores were good or even better, if the stuff I found was even usable by my classes.

When the highlight of a cave is seeker token #77, something feels wrong.

I actually really loved it. I finished the game at over 70 hours and I could have kept going. Enjoyed it more than the first, combat felt much better to me.

I will say though, once all the vocations are maxed I can imagine the boredom really starting to set in fast but I still have a few left which is enough for me to want to circle back at some point and finish those out.

Im on a second play-through with a different pawn. I love the dynamics of the pawn system. Keeps the enjoyment there. Game definitely has some head scratching omissions, though. Wheres my damn loot?

Really hope an expansion shores up the shortcomings.
