What would yall have people do? Stay shut up in their homes for the rest of their lives? Covid is never going away. Get vaxxed and go on about your business.

I don't use any of these delivery services. So to the people in this thread saying "then go get it yourself!": that's exactly what I do.

That said, my tip is based on the quality of service. I don't tip a waiter until after the meal, so I wouldn't tip a delivery guy until after he has made the delivery. I've had pizza delivered before and I've always either written a tip on the receipt or given the driver cash on the spot. I'm actually a very generous tipper, but you aren't getting it until the end of our transaction.

I've seen so much horrible video from the last few days, that whether or not this particular story is true is kind of irrelevent.

The Taylor Swift concert film doesn't leave them many extra screens for Halloween stuff.

I've always had sympathy for the Palestinian people. Israel has oppressed them for generations and that's wrong.

That said...

I just watched a video where Hamas militants killed a young girl at the music festival, stripped her naked and paraded her body through the streets. As they passed, regular civilians, not soldiers, ran over to spit on her corpse.

And just like that, my sympathy is gone. I know someone is going say the Israelis are just as bad and blah blah. You're not wrong, but it doesn't matter. The emotional side of my brain can't see a video like that and then offer any type of support to those people.

This likely has everything to do with the HBO show. It's a huge hit. They'll time this release with the release of season 2.

The turn-based battle system. I left that shit behind in the PS2 era.

The "respect the lore!" people are hilarious. The Castlevania games have a plot, sure. But come on... it's not deep enough or compelling enough to make 40+ episodes of television without adding/changing things. This ain't Lord of the Rings here. For most of the games the story is like 1 page in the instruction manual. Yall want whole episodes of nothing but characters whipping skeletons and dodging medusa heads? That's like 2/3rds of the "plot" in a typical Castlevania game.

Speaker of the House is an actual job with actual responsibilities. Trump would be miserable.

Republicans will put McCarthy back in before they'd ever accept a Democrat. Dems can grab some popcorn and watch the show though.

I remember life before the internet, but if I could turn back the clock, give me late 90s / early 2000s era internet. It was like the wild west.

I played 3 hours last night and it did not wow me. It's not bad, but it doesn't seem up to Skyrim/Fallout standards. Will dive back in today. I've heard it gets better after the early hours of the game.

It sounds like the game is shallow. Several reviews say the RPG elements are weak, and exploration is kind of boring. Bad writing, etc. Releasing right behind BG3 probably didn't do this game any favors.

I'm excited for the game, but let's be realistic. The "1000 planets" thing is gonna suck. It just will. They are procedurally generated and most will be devoid of life / empty / boring as fuck to explore. I wish Bethesda wouldn't have made that a selling point because it has created unrealistic expectations. There are people who legit think that means 1000 Skyrims.

The $560M break-even point is what Deadline estimated it would need to reach theatrically to become profitable later down the line (VOD, streaming, etc). It will eventually be a profitable film, though it didn't reach profitability in theaters.

I wouldn't call it a flop, especially this summer when so many other movies REALLY bombed.

Yep. I'm actually looking forward to the game. I even sprang for early access. But come on... there's some "my face is tired" stuff in here.

It is unless you live in a rural area. If you find a discord and get to know the other players in your area, it can be really fun.

The county containing this small town went nearly 70% Republican in the last election. I have to assume this is what they wanted, and I do not feel sorry for them. Getting tired of all the "woe is me" coming outta red states.

If pro wrestling is making the same or better money today, is that because of inflation? Because I have a hard time believing its as popular now as it was then. I remember the late 90s... nWo and Austin 3:16 shirts everywhere. Popular wrestlers easily broke into the mainstream. Today, I can't remember the last time I saw someone wearing wrestling merch, and as a non-fan the only modern wrestler I know is Roman Reigns.

A quick Google showed 9000 and change attended the most recent Raw taping. Many house shows in the Attitude era drew larger crowds.

Looking at the ratings now vs 20 (and even 10) years ago, I'd say the vast majority don't. I haven't watched any pro wrestling since Rock and Austin were at the top. Occasionally I see a clip online from modern shows and I find it embarrassing.

So are they just remaking the 2010 film in animation? Same cast, writers, etc. Edger Wright producing. What's the point? The 2010 movie is great. Can just watch that.

I wouldn't buy it. I've built up a sizable digital library on Switch. That library not carrying forward to the next console is unacceptable in 2023. Plus it would mean Nintendo will milk us with $60 Switch Ports for the foreseeable future.

Unpopular opinion, but I think it's better than Afterlife. Ghostbusters should not have been a franchise. I didn't like any of it's sequels (not not even Ghostbusters II).

I actually like the song, so I'll take the money.

As far as I know, they'd reach their destination. They'd be stopped the next time they try to board a plane, but nothing would be done if they are already on one.

Lui Kang rebooted the entire universe. This is a new continuity and it seems that lots of things have changed. Raiden is no longer a god. Scorpion and Sub-Zero are brothers instead of enemies. Mileena is the princess instead of Kitana. Not a lot of complaints about those changes, but make a character have darker skin and suddenly it's #NotMyTanya

Hope you enjoy it. It's a great movie.

How so? A couple Transformers movies crossed a billion with worse reviews. 59% on rotten tomatoes isn't even that bad. It literally means the majority of critics liked it.

For the record, apparently the dog was not euthanized and was returned to it's owners. It has almost certainly died of old age by now.

The Little Mermaid has quietly stuck around the top 10 for a couple months now. A few outlets are reporting it either has broken even, or is very close to breaking even. It's not the success Disney wanted, but I wouldn't call it a flop at this point. Under-performed is probably a better term.

We will see this weekend how well Dead Reckoning holds up with Barbie and Oppenheimer soaking up all the premium screens. I don't see it reaching the heights of Fallout, and since it cost $100M more than Fallout to make, that's not ideal.

I grew up in a small town in Louisiana. Population was around 250. Everybody knew everybody. I didn't experience any of that "looking out for each other" he references in this song. People were rude. Generally didn't like other people coming around their properties. Lots of fights, gossip and mistrust. The Baptist paster was a drug addict and was fucking half the women in the choir dispite being married. The town had 2 cops, and they were the most hated men there by far. I recall their houses being vadalized, eggs thrown at their cars, etc. My elementary school principle committed suicide. A fellow classmate in my high school murdered his grandparents. This was over 25 years ago too, so it's not a case of "times have changed." I'm pretty close to Jason Aldean in age.

I live in Chicago now. I get along great with all of my neighbors... everyone in my building and most people on my block. We help each other out all the time. If someone goes out of town we take turns watching their pets, or watering their plants. People are generally friendly... will help you carry things to/from your car, hold open doors for you, etc. Everyone back home expected me to be murdered within days of moving here, but I've never felt safer.

Came here to say this. Remember "Bobby" Jindal? Republicans will tolerate minority candidates in lower offices. Not the White House. The "face" of the Republican party will be white for the foreseeable future.

Activision isn't the first acquisition, not will it be the last. There are documents showing Microsoft considering purchasing literally dozens of companies.

I grew out of my console wars phase a solid 25 years ago. I haven't followed any of this and I have no horse in the race. That said... The number of people cheering on a trillion dollar corporation as it buys up the entire gaming industry to put competition out of business, is alarming. Corporations aren't your friends. If/when Microsoft is the only game in town, you may regret it.

The Supreme Court actually has no enforcement power. It's up to the Federal government to enforce their rulings. Andrew Jackson and Abraham Lincoln both ignored / refused to enforce Surpreme Court decisions.

Let's say, for example, SCOTUS ruled that abortion is illegal in every State. California ignores the ruling and allows abortion to continue. SCOTUS can't do anything about it. The President would have to instruct federal law enforcement agencies to enforce the law. If he chooses not to, that's it. Nothing happens. Abortions in California continue.

There were definitely factories, offices and warehouses 150 years ago. Not everyone lived on or worked on a farm.
