Seriously. If you gave people the choice between BG3 style facial animations and Bethesda "style" animations, then 98% of people would pick the BG3 option. It's not like Bethesda is taking a "different" approach to animations in their game. This isn't No More Heroes or Mario Odyssey. They're going for a realistic look and failing to achieve what other companies have already well surpassed.

I honestly don't care too much. Interacting with other humans was always invariably going to be the worst part of a game about exploring space. All I care about is whether this game can deliver a sense of awe, mystery, and wonder and be my Outer Wilds surrogate until someone does it better. Unfortunately, a lot of the footage is boring WRPG shit and guns. No better way to get me to not care about the characters and story of a game than to do the WRPG "blank slate character who can be anything you want" shit and throw in a billion unimportant procedurally generated quests.

Yep. After the leak, a lot of people were upset to learn that they can't fully explore the planets like in No Man's Sky.

But that's why I think Starfield will be fine. They aren't trying to go beyond a scale that they can handle
