How do you feel about the idea that Pianta should have been the final unlockable character in Mario Party 9 instead of Magikoopa? That's what I thought when I played that game.

I only got my phone in the summer before college started, and I was definitely "late" compared to the people who had one in high school.

Got my cell phone in 2007 and my number has carried through 3 phones since then.

This was already panned before NASB. In fact it would have been out earlier if the majority of their dev team didn't have to leave to work on that game.

I miss the time when all (console) games were 60 FPS by default and developers didn't try pushing the specs past the console's limits by sacrificing framerate.

I don't think that peak fighting, Vibe, equipment Peach could beat DK regardless.

I didn't like 4 either (when it came out I liked it less than all of the previous three), but I think it gets lumped in with 1-3 because it was the last one that used the "traditional" formula. 5 replaced the items with capsules and they kept changing more and more things from there.

Sabrina's the weakest link left but this is a pretty solid result.

In the context of gen 1... well, they all suck. They're all plot-irrelevant nobodies who only show up in their gym once you reach them and don't do anything afterwards (you know, the exact thing that people criticize characters in the newer games for doing).

In later games though... probably Lt. Surge for his cool laughing animation and some of his lines. Plus he directly trades a Pokemon to the player, which is cool. Blaine also got some good characterization with his entire old gym being destroyed.

Outside of time manipulation, are Prince's combat skills better or worse than Ezio's? Because iirc the topics said that DK loses that fight. I think if Prince loses once, he'll lose 6 times even changing his plan each time, but I don't know how the initial fight would go (not familiar enough).

I had Ynglet on my Steam wishlist for a long time and then I finally got it in the Ukraine bundle. But then I had problems with the controls. Do most people play it with a controller or keyboard? Neither way felt comfortable for me.

Next game: Possibly the reason why I started tracking this topic?

I thought the last game was the teenage angst era.

Gen 1 Porygons more recent emergence as a rogue pick is hilarious to me. Porygon is bad but its perfectly built to counter Snorlax.

This is new to me and interesting, when did this start happening?

Also, now that these topics are more established and we're accustomed to the type of "fights" being discussed, I'm retroactively siding with DK > Red.

How exactly are they "fighting"? Is the moon falling like it does in MM and DK is just trying to stop it or die trying?

Letting "brands" have Twitter accounts was a mistake.

I think I actually have seen Petal Crash. I seem to recall someone I know streaming it one time, although I can't think of who that I follow would actually play that type of game, or when it was. When I first saw it I immediately noticed how it looked closed to GBC than GBA.

They had these in Wario World.

Wario won all of them (obviously), and that was one of the few games where he actually had a health bar.

This is even debatable. I think that Wario could take a coconut shot better than anyone else from this topic series so far.

This is an interesting matchup and I'm looking forward to reading both sides' arguments. But my gut says Wario. He has stamina to take heavy hits and in some cases power ups coming from them, and as a "video game human" has physical strength rivaling DK's.

I keep my toothbrush in my room and bring it to the bathroom when I use it. College habit that I continued even after not living in dorms anymore (because I do agree that keeping it in the room with the toilet can be a bit gross).

Wow, they nailed the Steam "retro-inspired" indie game aesthetic perfectly.

They just revamped the leveling system, making it quicker to level from 1 all the way up to 50, so now is a great time for any old players to start playing again!

D-tier rankings from Anagram's visual design topic (just your opinions on the things listed, not specifically their visuals)

I'm wondering if any old BGO players would be interested in getting together to play this Wild Mode this week. Racing in Reverse is a mechanically unique mode where all forms of movement (aside from dice rolls) go in the opposite direction (forwards <-> backwards). It leads to a whole bunch of nonsense interactions and moments that twist your brain trying to figure out how they'll work. It's one of my favorite Wild Modes because it actually changes the core gameplay more than most of them.

New players are always appreciated too, although this mode will likely be incomprehensible if you don't know how the normal game works. (I am always active if people want to play standard games too.)

Is this like.....a problem for these games, DCers?

Splatfests tend to have more DCs than normal because lots of people only play during Splatfests, which includes bad connection people who you wouldn't have to deal with otherwise.
