Anyways the reason there is a verified account is because this is for the Black Lives Matter organization, not the movement. These things are not interchangable and there have been plenty of fair criticisms of BLM the organization from people within BLM the movement, mostly around standard NGO finance shit. Tony, how do you feel about sending cops to prison? Abolitionists do not support the prison system, but in high profile police brutality cases for instance you have to admit there's just not a lot of other tools in our current system as it is. It's totally possible (and necessary!) to have these conflicting thoughts. This situation is pretty close to that.

I mean honestly I can't even tell if this is actually about sentencing or if you think the guy is blameless because of "herd mentality."

This is yet another situation where people are looking to put the blame on one person as a substitute for a larger issue. Talking shit and as a hype man and performer is an established thing in music, especially live music, and not just in rap but in rock and metal which he's lifting from. Huge stretch to prove he is actually inciting real violence, but then again our legal system is a joke so whatever.

Which isn't to same he has no blame - he and his company were event organizers. The whole debacle was an organization failure and should rightfully be blamed on them, as well as Live Nation and the venue organizers who deliberately overbooked the place and skimped on safety precautions in the name of making a quick buck. All stuff people want to overlook in favor of complaining about inviting violence which is not at all what actually happened.

Also Jakyl you keep saying shit like this and I just want to make it clear that I don't necessarily think Rittenhouse should have gone to prison. That's also not a just outcome because there can't be one here. There's an argument for it being better purely in terms of outcomes and not process but I don't care enough to make a distinction.

In fact to the extent I think the justice system could be changed to fix this, the most important step would to make it less punishing, but as a society we are nowhere near that part yet.

The legal system is rigged and bad, you are correct. Secondly I don't feel like the events that night back up what you are saying. I have stated multiple times I think Rittenhouse is fairly shitty, but also judging him based off the actions of that night it seems to me like he was all talk about being that gun blazing type of guy. He says a lot of shit, a lot of really bad shit, but that night he acted from my point of view based on the evidence... about as properly as I would expect someone to behave themselves. He said some shit, but the way he carried himself... frankly he showed more restraint than a lot of cops I've seen shoot people. Yes, that's not a defense of Rittenhouse but just so we're clear.

I don't dispute the facts of the night or the legal interpretation of them. My point was that I find the drive to go out and play vigilante in this situation so monumentally a bad idea that it casts a shadow over the whole thing. This kind of white vigilantism as an excuse to shoot Black people (yes, I know the vicitims here were not actually Black) is deployed often enough that it deserves larger scrutiny. It happened before (Zimmerman, Hurricane Katrina aftermath) and it'll happen again. Again, our legal system can't handle this. Justice here would be if no one got hurt, criminal liability once they did is a separate issue.

My broader political opinion on this is I don't want 'the left' to fall victim to what the right does - which is bullshit. The right is pure bullshit in our country. I want us to be outraged that the kid went there, and hammer people who prop him up... but also realize this is the law. I am comfortable meeting on the grounds of 'should it be this way' or 'outcomes aren't equal.'

I agree, I think all the shit about the biased judge or his stupid ringtone or whatever are distractions, and people looking to blame individual actors for a massive systemic problem. I just see no reason to celebrate a "legally correct" verdict or defend the sanctity of the law when it's so obviously busted.

The fucked up part isn't anyone's race, it's that an alt-right militia mobilized for an opportunity to shoot people protesting a cop shooting and advocating for racial justice. If you're changing more of the context you maybe have more of an argument, but then you are changing the situation significantly. Context matters, but morality is subjective.

The law is supposed to be objective and applied equally, and can only consider context to a certain extent. I understand why it has to be this way. But that inherently divorces it from subjective morality, and then you add in the fact that laws aren't actually objective and are subject to interpretation constantly, and thus aren't applied equally, and well. Maybe you can see why I think this doesn't matter. I think this is a problem inherently unsolvable by the legal system.

Yeah I'll be completely honest here; I didn't recognize her either until I saw the name pop up and it clicked, but that's not because she doesn't look like the character, it's because Arya's character design isn't very iconic! So of course it doesn't translate well compared to cartoon characters who were designed with that in mind.

Advocate for a more lenient justice system all you want, the truth is that law enforcement and the courts have already been extremely lenient with this group given how unprecedented Jan 6th was. Laws aren't applied equally. As a whole, they're getting off pretty lightly in a system that is typically very punitive. All things considered, not worth wringing hands over the alt-right here.

Current project is leveling up Yanfei and my shiny new Bennett. And boy is Yanfei annoying to build.

First of all Nocturilous Jade is annoying. Mining ore for a local speciality is just a pain, not too big a deal though it's just slow.

Second of all, and this is much more obnoxious, her boss material is from the Primo Geovishap. He's an HP sponge but Diona makes him basically not a threat. But. The elemental gems this guy drops are random so I'm going to have to spend even more resin on the flower or cube just to get the right kind. Both Yanfei and Bennett will eventually want 80/90 so I desperately need fire crystals, so it just feels really bad having to kill this guy.

Her artifact situation annoys me too because she wants Wanderer's Troupe which is annoying to get. I at least have the main stats sorted out but the substats aren't ideal.

Oh well. I hope the explosion lawyer is worth it!

Also extremely yes, it actually matters more for BLU because their weapon doesn't have stats so the INT on gear scales harder. So get Scaeven and/or Blu gear with allied seals and also pop some grade 6 materia in your slots.

In addition to them listening for mechanical additions, it's also pretty obvious the writing is heavily influenced by the community response at parts. This ranges from relatively small things like the Raktika tribe quests leaning extremely hard into community memes, to bigger things like how certain characters are written in ShB patch story. This is speculation, but Ishikawa was probably chosen for lead writer on Shadowbringers specifically because of how the DRK quests and the Azim Steppe were received, and the Shadowbringers reception basically cemented her position for Endwalker.

There is just so much fanservice baked into the game. Whatever your thoughts on that, they're definitely listening.

I started playing back in September, and I probably would have played/enjoyed it more if the events/character progression expecting you to be at the end of the current content hadn't soured my experience so much. Nothing more frustrating than your shiny first 5* lagging behind in levels because she requires Inazuma mats that I can't get to ascend, as well as time-gated events that depend on you being there to do. I refuse to be rushed by games, so I'm more inclined to just play something else than feel like I have to grind through the story for hours.

Yeah I started mid August so I felt this, although the September events were a bit more lax to get to. There's just a weird tension with the new player progression in the game. The story honestly isn't that long if you focus on it, but that means you aren't exploring the map as much which is the fun part. But taking your time and exploring ranks up your AR, which means now you have to grind mid-story plus don't have Inazuma materials. You can put off the grind by sitting at one of the World Ascension gates but that also feels bad. Probably still better than rushing because it keeps your characters from falling off.

Since most of next patch's events are centered around Dragonspine, hopefully the prereqs aren't too bad and don't require Archon Quest progress. Not sure if we know them yet but I'd expect to have to do the main world quest there and maybe a character quest or two.

I don't necessarily think it's Nintendo's fault for not anticipating that console gaming getting a taste of that sweet 60fps would be the thing this gen, bit there's something a little weird in general with optimization on Switch.

yeah it turns out if you take a pretty decent dance house beat, get a modern pop star most notable for making an entire album in that style, add legendarily talented vocalist elton john, and then just have them sing a couple of his classic pop choruses over the instrumental, it makes for an enjoyable song

Nah I'm with Tony on this, the information is one thing but I'm sick of the editorializing sympathizing with a shitlord and somehow painting his aquittal as a win for the justice system and not the completely laughable failure on multiple levels it actually is. The laws are shit. The investigation is shit. The trial is shit. All of it is shit. I am over the details, and frankly I'm annoyed that people seem to be warming to Rittenhouse and reducing it all to a "fair, next."

I watched Avatar all the way through for the first time in the past year and yeah, it still holds up. However, the first season is pretty rough and doesn't get good until the finale with the north water kingdom which is also the first real story arc in the entire show! Season 2 is actually incredible, and then Season 3 is a mixed bag due to some very obvious and unfortunate issues, but is great despite them. Also the teen romance stuff is generally pretty awkward in a bad way, and I think kids' shows post-Avatar started to figure this out better thanks to it getting the ball rolling.

I'd put S1 of She-Ra over Avatar's pretty easy, BUT She-Ra's first season doesn't have anything quite as good as Avatar's finale arc. That's basically the perfect comparison of the two overall. Avatar has higher highs and lower lows, She-Ra is more consistent because it knows what it wants to do from the start and is allowed to do it. And both kinda have issues wrapping up the series.

This probably would have been a 10 or 9.5 for me a year or two after release. Persona 4 has weirdly not aged too well. I've got too many minor nitpicks with some of the characters and the spinoffs make the game feel less special. That said it still meets my standards for gr8ness! The mystery is fun as a dramatic element if maybe not as an actual whodunnit, and I think the game's structure really enhances that. In particular the midgame and last few dungeons really make full use of the setting, story and gameplay structure, and themes.

Make sure you use pins that trigger beatdrops independently of statuses or knockback and things like that, those tend to be worse on bosses. I also had to slot a healing pin for that fight which is rarely useful in this game.

And Minamimoto is particularly rough so when all else fails just lower the difficulty

Tried using the settings on the character select screen to download my hotbars into PS5 version and it didn't work. Weird.

There's two backup options, one for account settings and one for specific character settings. Hotbars are on the second. Only thing I can think of, though I've only used it on PS4/PC and not the new PS5 version so there could be issues.

That said probably still worth trying to log in with the old PSN account. Bennett is in the Starglitter shop right now so you could get him easily on there if you had enough resources banked and then decide from there. If it doesn't work, oh well, if it does then free alt!

Edit: oh do note that there might be some issues with it, like I think accounts that started on PSN have to go through the PS Store forever. I have the opposite where I started on mobile so I can't do purchases on PS5. Not that it matters if you're F2P. And idk what happens if they are on the same email address.

What does PS+ have to do with it? Can you not log in at all with your old account? Everything is saved to Mihoyo's servers and has cross-play now so if you can still log in you should have it.

The game definitely has a soul, it's just bogged down by everything else. Though even that is less revolutionary and more derivative, but that's not always bad. It's just...an obvious take. It's a point I saw coming for months just by watching his other videos and playing the game and having played Witcher 3. A lot of good but obvious takes going on for hours.

I mean, I guess this does give credibility to his claim that his review of Tokimeki Memorial WAS his review of Cyberpunk, because it kind of is!
