Plus, the best thing you could do with a Chrono Trigger remake is to give it the FF7R treatment and get all meta with the idea of a sequel or remake. That's just what Chrono Cross already is!

The preload will be available during maintenance. For normal patches this is usually just a few hours before it goes live. I am pretty sure it goes live earlier for expansions but I don't recall exactly when. I don't think there's a set time.

I'm not sure if the PS5 downloads in background, PS4 kind of did when I swapped over but it wasn't reliable. I would just make sure to update manually once we find out it's live.

Tony, you know how liberals work and I promise you that Texas ones are not really much different from the national. Beto already ran on gun reform (which is popular) without the soundbite, people here already knew this about him. It's the other voter demographics this would maybe work on, which is what my post was about. That's another thing about these polls - Beto's bad national PR moments are already baked-in. McConnaughey has not been put through the wringer yet.

There's definitely an argument to float McC to see if he survives that. I just think it's unlikely. Plus I don't see how Dems leverage an independent celebrity to win local races which they desperately need to do.

Dems are more excited about Beto, as I said. Republicans would support McConnaughey more than Beto, but they still prefer Abbott so it's unclear how good a metric that is. The three way poll is useless. It comes down to if you think McC can leech enough Republicans away from Abbot. I think both of them would get absolutely hammered by attack ads and this would polarize harder. This is why I made the point about Beto's organizing - we know he already ran ONE good campaign. McC is a wildcard but I have very little faith in the state and national Dem party supporting him well. So that's why it's a no from me.

Edit: Other thoughts because I glossed over some stuff, this does show him beating Abbott in a head to head but I'm skeptical of the large amount of undecideds. Also this is assuming an independent McConnaughey which I'm not sure is realistic? There's a lot going on here. I'm not saying I don't trust the polls but I have a lot of skepticism this result holds in a real election.

Spent at least 1000 resin on the EoSF domain. I need two full sets for Xiangling and Xingqiu, plus any incidental upgrades I get for Raiden and Tartaglia (who has 2 Shimenawas). Got a whoooole bunch of mid artifacts and went broke leveling them up to check rolls. Down to 20 fragile resins and I still have to farm at least two EM VV pieces for Sucrose. Pain.

one of my motivating factors to beat TEA was because I think Heavensward and Alexander totally fucking own, and I wanted a shiny alexander weapon for the game I like lol

My personal enjoyment of raiding is affected by the story, I get why that's not the case for everyone, but I wouldn't like this game nearly as much if it was just one of those two halves.

I will say it's not that uncommon to play this game for non-story reasons. I've raided with multiple people who were cutscene skippers just in it for the Savage fights. Hell, the first group I joined was almost entirely cutscene skippers.

I mean, I personally think it's weird. But that's because while the raids are good, I personally wouldn't raid if I wasn't already invested in the game.

Eden's Promise gives 510 gear, but requires 485 to get in.

If you don't want to or can't buy the crafted set, I would say your best option is spamming Matoya's Relict to get 485 gear and tomestones you can use for upgrades to get you past that breakpoint, then swapping to Eden and picking up accessories/belt which are very efficient iLevel upgrades.

If you can afford one 510 crafted piece, get a HQ weapon. You can later use tomes to upgrade it to 520 HQ. Depending on the rest of your gear this MIGHT get you pretty close to the requirements you need.

Assuming you want to do this before Friday. You could just wait!

edit: Oh, I forgot about Puppet's Bunker. 465 to get in, 490 loot drops. That might be the play if you can Need the gear now.

Movement in that game is mostly terrible with only pogoing being any fun and its not used enough. Combat doesn't have enough options in it, and while most of the bosses patterns are pretty fun once you get to the end of the base game and get into the DLC bosses it becomes so hard it isn't fun. Also the story sucked massively.

This is all very wrong but it does illustrate a "problem" with Hollow Knight in that this stuff isn't apparent until you spend way too much time with the game and sink into the depth it offers with randomizers and speedruns and such. Movement in particular feels like it sucks at first but the more time you spend with it past the first playthrough the more solid you realize it is. Obviously it can't hold a candle to Ori's movement, which is nearly perfect, but HK is nicer to control than most actual Metroids and Castlevanias, tbh.

Ori 2 and Hollow Knight are my actual top 2 metroidvanias but for very different reasons. So the division ITT is very funny to me.

8GB is not nearly enough, you want at least 16GB. But RAM is super cheap. There's already a lot of Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals going around. I was able to pick up 32 GB for $100.

Yeah, the 80s are... not great. I've done BRD, DNC, WHM, SMN, and WAR and I couldn't tell you anything about any of them other than DNC playing Vamo'alla Flamenco one more time as troupe leader status transferred.

SMN's job quest is like...essential for understanding Fordola's character in the recent patch story. It's really weird.

SCH and BLM have some good lore in their 80 quests that will likely never pay off. MCH and AST also have good ones just because those have a very strong cast of characters. And then there's DRK's which is perfection.

Oh, Roblox isn't toys to life. It's like an amateur game development tool, plus a self-contained game store, plus an mmo-ish social network. Imagine an aggressively monetized LittleBigPlanet plus Second Life where most of the users are kids.

My strategy for expansions is always to make sure my main has the best available gear going in so that I can use coffers mostly on alts. More jobs = more fun!

And it might not matter as much for DPS but for Tanks and Healers those extra 15 item levels provide a significant quality of life and peace of mind boost in dungeons in addition to performing better. I don't want to worry about scraping by the minimums. Absolutely worth it.

I also don't know what "damage" Minecraft is doing here. It's...a very good game? Notch was a shitter and Microsoft is greedy with the IP but that's a monetization issue that every major game has. There is an argument that it helped spawn battle royale as a genre, but that only applies retroactively. Before battle royales blew up, everyone was trying to make shitty Destiny clones and I think the universe where those are monetized instead is a worse one.

And...hot take but battle royales are a fine genre? Fortnite is a fun game too! Again the problem here is monetization and the Metaverse aspect, which I think would be popping up elsewhere if Fortnite did not exist. And they already are - I'm surprised Roblox isn't on this list because it's the worst aspects of Minecraft crossed with the worst ones of Fortnite, with a more exploitative business model than either!

Hell even the reason I gave for CoD doesn't matter. If you wipe that away the government just funds a different military shooter.

Ok but you will still be upgrading gear this way as you are going through dungeons. The gear we will talking about gives you the highest baseline starting stats, and if you really like the look of the job sets you can glam over them with the job armor. And then as you do dungeons you will upgrade the gear.

And sure this doesn't matter for Bozja or trusts but when you start doing dungeons with other players there's no reason to use worse gear

On the subject of poetics gear for new jobs, it's also a decent idea to cap on poetics and current tomestones so that you can buy the current 80 Shadowbringers gear for them.

You can get a head start now but you'll need to get the upgrade items for them. When the expansion launches they should automatically be the augmented versions.

Of course if you're doing Bozja you will probably get plenty that way.

Bastion is good, though I think the combat has aged poorly. Especially if you are coming from Hades. The rest of the game holds up well enough, although it's a lot less impressive today than it used to be.

You can, but with the current shortage situation we have no idea when "down the road" is going to be. This also makes future-proofing hard. You'll want to make sure the rest of the computer can handle an RTX card when you get it, and the easiest way to do that is right now is...to buy a prebuilt that has an RTX and all the stuff to use it.

Basically, if you want a good deal on a future-proof computer you have to shell out. If you are looking for non-RTX stuff in the $500-600 ish range (before a monitor and stuff) you have to have a good reason to want a PC instead of just getting a console. And there are decent reasons for that, like specific PC games and emulation and stuff! But that depends on what your goal is here.

Frankly it's probably the worst possible time to buy a cheap gaming desktop. Ray tracing is here and is going to be the AAA standard going forward now that consoles are doing it. That means you need to buy the latest and most expensive graphics cards. If you don't get an RTX card, you are essentially buying a "last gen" gaming computer, which isn't worth it. And the PS5/XSX are roughly on par with older RTX cards, so there's not much point in getting a PC with an outdated card when the consoles are so much better value for your money. Even if you don't care much about graphics...the consoles are still better unless you just really want a PC (or can't find one lol).

Like red says you can find good deals if you go for the top of the line prebuilts. It's just all-or-nothing right now, unfortunately.

Haven't seen any, in this case I'm not sure how many are going to care because he literally ran someone over last month. That kind of overwhelms anything else and honestly i just see this as his "thing." I mean maybe he had an episode of some kind but all I've seen focused by people looking into it is his lengthy criminal history. With that I'm sure he has something, either he had it or developed it, but this is mainly state negligence.

Part of the problem is most people get their entire understanding of prison life from movies/tv, so they get normalized to the idea that prison is and more to the point should be hell on earth. Hell you'll find people get outraged when they discover modern technological provisions inmates do get access to, because contrasting that to their misguided media perception sounds too cushy.

I agree with this except I'd say that the media portrayals aren't misguiding in that they're either that way by design or just reflective of how our culture already views prison. But it's self-reinforcing.

My takeaway from the outrage over the prison system being leveraged on someone sympathetic is always a bit of an eye roll because the whole thing is usually based on the idea that there are people who "deserve" the horrors of the prison system and others who do not. Which is missing the point for me, but for a lot of people it really is the point.

Also I am a big KH3 apologist, I enjoyed the game a lot for what it is. But in hindsight I gotta agree with LtM about it not having potential it can live up to.

It's like the ending to Homestuck, or Game of Thrones, or the new Star Wars trilogy, or other huge beloved series that fizzle out the same way. It's almost impossible to meet these huge fandom expectations in these stories with tons of moving parts in a way that's perfectly satisfying.

And actually that's kind of just like Chrono Cross too lmao
