I always thought it was weird that a girl with a body like Akanes was made to be the ultimate gymnast. Why not just switch the ultimate skills of Akane & Hiyoko? It would make more sense, given how tiny Hiyoko is.

To be fair, Hiyoko's tinyness is addressed in chapter 6. However, Akane isn't really a gymnast so much as an athletic acrobat type. I suspect that whatever they meant for her, the closest word in English they could find was gymnast. Or it just sounds better to have someone be the ultimate at a sport since nobody else in the game is explicitly. (Ultimate swordsman and ultimate team manager being kinda close, I guess.)

I'm trying really hard to infodump without infodumping, and still have it feel natural to the character's voice. I've done dozens of write-ups for my characters, but never first person because that's exactly what you're supposed to not do when submitting your query letter to agents.

So definitely an interesting challenge.

Ok I feel dumb but this NEWS password isn't easy. There are 5 numbers and they are all positioned at seemingly random places.

I figured it, after having to use Google to learn the 6 was an upside down 9. Also took a while to notice the 4 was a compass, because I had skimmed the text.

Ok I suck at this game.

Nagito talking about mouse buttons scares Monomi. She's not used to people who can see through the 4th wall.

I suck at this game but Nagito doesn't. He just reveals all the steps when I talk to Monomi. Because she's useless like that.

I'm dumb so I asked Nagto for the Otello solution. Then I tried again and he literally gave the password. This game is tearing my self-esteem apart.

I googled it again out of curiosity and realized I'm too sleepy to understand the explanation. Except apparently you must read the lights from right to left. Because this is a Japanese game. Okay this is on the level of the fish bowl thing in terms of unintuitive puzzle.

I didn't have any trouble with it. Only weird part for me was understanding the controls with using items on other items. But then, I apparently suck at interpreting a lot of the other stuff that you're picking up way before the reveal. (Granted, among floating tons of other theories, but I simply had no theories and watched as stuff unfolded.)

The final dead room was one of the more entertaining parts of the game. And also one of the points where I stopped thinking of Nagito as nothing more than an obnoxious screwball.

Due to the way tracks on Killer Instinct works, yes. It's basically an all phase mix, which is far more evident when you listen to any of the other tracks.

There are additional factors to consider, though. Yes, there's the spell crit, though there's a good chance that just leads to overhealing. But for the benefit of spirit, there's three counterpoints I'll throw at you.

1) There's the talent in holy that adds a quarter of your spirit to your spell damage.
2) Spirit Tap. It has absolutely no role in healing a dungeon, but it's also the single best talent priest has when out in the world on their own, and it depends on spirit.
3) Clearing trash, spirit is better. Your goal as a healer is to remain close to full mana in order to respond to emergencies, and you'll be more effective at that if you're not in the habit of drinking after every fight. Put in that perspective, your timeframe is a lot longer than 2 minutes assuming that the group chain pulls so long as they can afford to.

This doesn't reverse the fact that for strictly healing 5-mans, int is probably better. However, I'm not going to prefer int to spirit on gear, so much as recognize that they probably should weigh about the same.

The one I don't know how to evaluate is spell damage. Like, how much is 1 point of +healing worth? Can't make the same apples-to-apples comparison and I find myself misevaluating gear because I don't have a frame of reference in my head for how to convert. I had the impression that +healing was better for, like, paladins who use smaller heals repeatedly rather than one big one, but I can't pretend like it's irrelevant. Especially not if it also comes with +damage for other phases of WoW life.

And oops, Makoto, Hajime, whatever. The dude who does the stuff. Hajime exhibits a little more personality at the beginning than Makoto, but they aren't very different as protagonists.

The gender imbalance will be highlighted in the next case, to the extent that Makoto gets to be an honorary girl. Also be prepared to stare at a lot of really intense red and green for a while. It kinda gave me a headache.

And I agree that the motives in DR2 are much more forced. I liked it better when it was simply the group's dynamics that pushed the players to these extremes. But that's mostly just 2-2 and 2-3.

Fun fact: I thought I had spoiled myself on DR2. I wanted to look up images of one of the characters and ended up on the wiki. I was leery, but I went okay, this seems contained. They have spoilers blocked off. I should be good. And then I saw some line in the appearance section that made it sound like this character was the archvillain. And I was completely, ridiculously wrong. But I kept playing the game, looking at that character with a sinister eye thinking they were going to pull some crap any time now. Instead, they never did anything remotely suspicious. (Turns out, whatever I saw was linked to some kind of extra in DR3.)

Personally, I think that Umineko track is weak as hell. Yes, I do tend toward the episode finales and the songs that sound like them, but there are other Umineko tracks I like. That and RIP aren't two of them. But even as much as I've ragged on RIP in the past, it's better than yesterday's track was.
