I'm still not convinced Bonemare goes in every midrange deck. It's way better than I thought for constructed (basically an easier to trigger Blazecaller that also can make a persistent threat) but also it's probably inflated due to how slow things are right now. Seems at its best in Druid where you have a bunch of idiot 1/5 taunts and 1/2 poisonous minions lying around. But I was watching Dog stream last night and a Water Rogue played it against him, and that seems wrong.

Dog was playing a hilarious deck, btw. Warrior list with Dead Man's Hand, DK, Arcane Giants, Battle Rage, and Blood Warriors to endlessly shuffle in 0 mana 8/8s and draw them quickly.

I cannot fathom playing Zoo with only one 2-drop. But I guess you can sort of fill the void with Forbidden Ritual and Fire Fly?

I'm not really a good judge, though. Zoo just feels bad to me without Power Overwhelming and 4-mana Mal'ganis.

They could have been wearing chain, just not the actual cowl part that covers your head and neck. Those look kind of goofy and the Lannisters probably didn't want to look silly on tv. That, or they've REALLY had to cut costs after repaying all their debts.

I wasn't a fan of most of the pickle fight scenes but the Danny Trejo parts and everything with the rest of the family (especially the end of the therapy) were pretty great.

Definitely wasnt trying to insult you, sorry if it came across like that. Just making a jab since this place seems to have a higher proportion of people complaining about Daenerys than usual.

Only real point is that the show hasn't really bothered to care about any possible ambiguity until now. And even now she's up against ultimate heel Cersei and Jaime isn't even a full-time face so it's hard to show. So I'm just not really convinced by it.

The people she uses force on have typically been slavers, sex traffickers, assassins, and other assorted lowlifes it seems to me like she and most of the audience would have little remorse for. The most ambiguous thing she's done was burn down that dothraki encampment, and even that was portrayed in a positive light because they told her that as a widow she had to sit in that tent and never leave. Or maybe the thing with the masters where she tried to work put peace multiple times and they kept breaking it. I guess she should have kept at it.

So sure, ambiguous, but not bordering evil. The same episode also had her servant talking about how great a person she was despite her power.

It's not really just you, but there's a lot of discussion in the topic who don't like her very much. It's ok to not like her and it's ok to think she's ambiguous, but given what the actual show has done I highly doubt either of those two are the goals. Obviously no one in Game of Thrones is "pure good" (except maybe hot pie) but Daenerys is pretty consistently portrayed as in the right and a good person, and as others said it just seems like too big a swerve for it to happen now.

I don't think this is Daenerys going full fire and blood. She could have easily just brought all three dragons and torched Jaime's entire army, but she didn't, and I think it's been well-established she's not going to burn King's Landing down anymore.This is just what war looks like when one side has a dragon, and war already looks pretty bad. It seemed to me they were trying to show both sides here. It's not like Battle of the Bastards where you clearly aren't supposed to root for one side. This was showing "war is hell, but also dragon fights are super fucking rad."

Also had a though about the supplies. Burning them all kind of makes sense if you expect them to retreat at some point. If she's starting her siege of King's Landing, it's important that they get as little supplies from The Reach as possible. She'd rather no one have it if they started to pack up and save whatever they can while running away. It's already kind of insane that they didn't flee immediately; they already thought they were going to get smashed by the overwhelming numbers of the Dothraki, and then the dragon showed up. But Jaime's a fucking idiot and tried to actually win that battle.

Who knows on how Dany plans on feeding her army during a siege but I expect a throwaway line about it next episode.

At the rate Jaime's character is progressing, he's most likely to die, come back as a zombie in Season 8, and then ponderously stare off-screen as he wonders if maybe, just maybe, his life could have been a little better had he not been so loyal to Cersei.

Druid's removal is pretty abysmal for both single target and aoe so I don't see a control style working. Poisonous bugs just seem way too slow with the opponent getting a chance to remove them or make better trades unless you get them out ahead of the thing you want to kill. Druid's also not too interested in playing the long game. They tend to go to fatigue faster than the opponent and would rather slam a big taunt to protect their life total than sit around armoring. The 3 attack is more appealing to me since it's basically repeatable light removal or face damage, and at 7 mana it's not horrible but I can't help comparing it to Justicar, which saw no play in Druid. I want to give it a shot but if I'm playing taunt druid I gotta wonder why not play more taunt?

The closest we've had to control Druid were those Yogg Druid decks (token and Malygos) around ONIK, riding off the power of Yogg because that is exactly how desparate Druid is for board clear. (Goodnight sweet prince)

Ugh why is the Druid one so lame? Druid class identity seems to be "1/2s and 1/5s" this set. At least it seems like it combos with Fandral, and maybe ramping into it is....maybe ok.

The stat line is ok. I'm not really sure of the deck that wants to play a 6 mana 4/6 no taunt on turn 6 when it only messes up 3 or 4 decks, and conditionally at that.

Also keep in mind that this doesn't actually kill Jade Druid. They can just kill you before fatigue. It's strongest against Miracle Rogue and Inner Fire Priest, and is kinda annoying for Evolve Shaman if they haven't evolved (but they have a third copy that doesn't get hit now).

So fatigue decks want it, but that will depend on fatigue decks actually being good (they're obviously trying to support them this set, so it's possible). Freeze Mage might play it to get around Earthen Scales, Priest decks might play it to counter Miracle, but that's valuable deck slots on one matchup. Seems like something you'd see in tournaments but not on ladder unless everyone is playing these decks.

It's essentially Ice Block + gain 5 for Rogue. Then the hero power sets you up for massive value plays. A grindy Rogue deck probably wants that effect, the question is if that deck will ever be good enough to exist. But you can do things like stealth on 9 and C'thun/N'zoth on 10. You can play double removal or healing (in Wild you have Antique Healbot), or two threats (seems really good with Jade cards. It's probably an Anub'arak scenario where the card is great but the deck isn't there, but the effects seem strong if the Rogue can just not die, and the card kind of helps with that.

Incredible game, definitely one of my all-time favorites.

I don't really understand saying the ending is bad. Not liking it I can totally get, but saying it doesn't fit? It felt to me like most of the game was built around having that ending.

All these druid taunts with high health and comically low attack make me think we are getting a Doran effect as the Druid Death Knight Hero.

Doran is a MTG card that says creatures use their toughness instead of their attack to deal damage.

The Mana system is the same but the way your color requirements work is totally different. And they actually weight your opening hand to reduce mana screw, which is huge. Plus it just plays with digital-only mechanics that magic can't do. Echo (add a copy of this card to your hand) and Warcry (top unit or weapon of your deck get a buff when this attacks) are both neat mechanics. It fixes a lot of MTG's clunky aspects while trying to balance some of its failed concepts like auras and weapons, and plays around in similar areas as Hearthstone without being a total fiesta. I particularly like their solution to player weapons. Instead of weapons having a durability, they give you armor, and when all youe armor is removed by any means, the weapon is destroyed. It's a neat game and it's starting to come into its own. Hearthstone was ALSO just a shitty MTG clone for a while too, remember.
