I would start with Hero Mode. It teaches you how to use each weapon, then from there jump into multiplayer and find weapons and strategies that work for you

I lowered my motion sensitivity a couple points and I feel like my skill level has increased 100%

I used to think more sensitivity was always better, and while that's certainly true for a mouse, the gyro aiming can be a little squirrelly

If Splatoon 1 rules were in place, Ketchup would have won

I think it's better this way, to be honest. In Splatoon 1, if one team was decently more popular than the other, it was almost impossible for the less popular team to win, which killed incentive to play. And they tried to counter it by having wins count for more and more (Originally it was win% x2 + votes, then win% x4 + votes, then win% x6 + votes), and it was kinda just getting ridiculous and broke things in the opposite direction, so then the more popular team could almost never win

And frankly, ice cream had the popularity even MORE skewed in its favor (76-24 vs. 73-27) and won, so the system isn't really broken like people are suggesting. Mayo just had a better ratio of better players.

I mean, personally I always thought it should be entirely determined by what team won more games. I think everyone should pick their honest favorite answer, and that's how teams are chosen, and then everyone plays hard. None of this "well I wanna be on the more popular team" weirdness.

But the "win 2 of 3 categories" way seems ok too, the popularity contest is pretty fun to include, I admit.

Where I killed 10 in a row before dying the first time.

Yeah there are probably some guns fairly similiar to the zapper, and, if this game is anything like the first game, they'll add a ton of new weapons over the next few months, many of them being existing weapons but different subweapons.
