I agree with this. I remember as a kid adoring these movies (4-6). As a adult I can see the writing is very poor and that polt elements are pulled from other ips. (1-3) are even worse. I'm not touching the Disney sequals. 7 was meh. Didn't go back for 8 and 9

I agree. I liked them as a child, but SW is probably the most conceptually boring universe on earth.

it's weird, when i was younger i used to think cinnamon was spicy. had a serious case of minnesota mouth.

you get a sort of euphoric feeling when you eat super spicy food, like your whole head tingles. and once it's spicy past a certain point, it's all the same. pain is pain, and it's hard to tell a 9 from a 10 on the pain scale.

Just so everyone knows, here's what I did for this time

THIAMINE is the most important thing during withdrawal, if you do NOT heavily supplement you will get Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome. I use Benfotiamine, which is a lab form of Thiamine that is fat soluble, rather than water soluble so your body absorbs it more readily. I take it every two or three hours.

FOLIC ACID is the second most important. I use a B Complex to get that, as well as my other B-Vitamins, plus more thiamine.

MULTIVITAMIN for the rest of the vitamins.

Pedialyte as well as Liquid IV for hydration on top of water.

During the initial stage when I couldn't stomach food, I consumed some high calorie protein shakes, as well as some blueberry kefir with some vanilla protein powder added to get immediate food based nutrition as well as sugar to combat the alcoholic ketoacidosis. For some reason, I crave hot dogs when I can actually eat food, so I had three of those.

Absolutely no caffeine, it disrupts your stomach in a way that inhibits the absorption of thiamine.

I am at my parents house and my mom is sleeping in the living room on the couch while I'm on the recliner. The hospital is a two minute walk from their house if something happens.

Rehab is definitely in order, I do agree with that. I know a guy in AA who I believe can help get me financial assistance for rehab.

You are NOT a doctor. Go to urgent care, go to the hospital. You are
1: putting yourself at risk of a deadly seizure
2: potentially putting whether you live or die on your parents shoulders. it would be insanely traumatic to have your child pass from alcohol withdrawal in your own home.

Go get help, worry about the money after. You can do this.

We have something similar happening in my state, and people basically don't go to jail unless they kill someone.

Legislation is being drafted to remove mandatory minimums for gun possession (which already often don't get prosecuted), it's insane.

That Silent Hill movie was dope and season 4 of Arrested Development was actually pretty damn good.

I 100% agree on the Silent Hill movie, and I'm a huge Silent Hill fan in general.

I get that it was a bastardized version of SH2, but considering the state of video game movies at the time it was impressive that they captured the imagery and feel of Silent Hill as well as they did.

Ari Aster's Hereditary and Midsommar are both mediocre films carried by thematic shock value and stylistic details. Neither film explores the themes present (generational trauma and toxic codependency) especially well. The stylistic details aren't bad, but are a bit derivative because they don't express anything that isn't already obvious in the film's text. Neither film is bad, but their high praise only exists because the horror genre is mostly known for films of a general low quality.

I agree with Midsommar but I personally quite like Herditary.

I felt like people liked Midsommar for the wrong reasons tbh.

Yes, only when I was younger though, 18-early 20s. Never had a bad experience, but it's not worth it once your career advances further than entry-level. If I had been working a job I even remotely cared about at the time, I wouldn't have let anything happen with coworkers.

It just naturally happens when you're constantly around people every day, you make connections even when you aren't intending to.

my mother didn't let me get a phone until I was either 13, or joined extra-curricular activities that required me to be at school after-hours. I feel like this is a completely reasonable rule, and I'll be doing the same with my own children.

You should really watch some stuff about sakuga and why the animation looks the way it does. That animation director worked on pretty much every good fight in the series.

Both Naruto V Sasuke during retrieval and Pain v Naruto were the same key animator. You're comparing his works against each other.

He also did Sasuke v Orochimaru which gets memed on a lot as well, but is one of the best fights in the entire first part. 3rd Hokage vs the first two Hokage as well. He did so much great work.

I kind of see where Google might want their data for models, though . Reddit has a decade of user to user interaction that's rated positively or negatively BY USERS, that seems hugely useful on a surface level. However, reddit is a scumsucking one-upmanship/karma farming cesspool where a lot of the interactions are centered around being as corny and jokey as possible for fake internet points; I don't see that being really representative of true human to human interaction and I have doubts about it's value as good training data.

Also, artist work gets posted on reddit without the permission of the artists all the time. Even if reddit claims in TOS that anything posted is fair game, it seems legally shakey that they actually have the right to monetize the works of others by offering their work up as AI training data.

Tbh, I was under the impression that The Boy and the Heron was one of Miyazaki's more "eh" movies from a story perspective. The thing is, the Oscars does have a little bit of politics in play where, legacy + lack of wins can play a part in a movie winning.

I also don't really think the animated Oscar has nearly the same prestige/weight as the other awards.

You should watch it and decide for yourself. I think what you get from it depends on how much you know about Miyazaki's life and career ahead of time.

Spiderverse is a glorified kids cartoon. There is no depth to it, it's unworthy of a nomination tbh.

Spiderverse is visually stunning and deserves to be recognized for it, but Heron was just better imo. I'm not shitting on Spiderverse, just weirded out by the way the voice actor handled losing.
