The amount of office space that can practically and legally be turned into housing is trivial compared to the problem. The few buildings that can be converted take years of extensive reconstruction to convert.

The biggest problem is daylight. Every building code in the country requires bedrooms to have at least one window for natural light and many require the same for other parts of the apartment. To use the Empire State Building as an example and a generous 40 feet as the practical depth of an apartment, only a bit less than half of the floor space along the outside walls could be used for housing. That's why buildings designed for residential use are narrower than commercial office space: they simply need a larger surface to volume ratio.

Biggest problem is plumbing, actually. There's no good way to get plumbing to every unit with the way commercial buildings are designed.

They're redesigning a building in my downtown area from commercial to residential, but they're having to do communal bathrooms/showers because there's just no cost effective way to plumb every unit. I doubt people would choose a building where they don't have access to their own bathroom unless it's REALLLY cheap.

i think this console or the next needs to be the last gen for a long time, the industry needs a chance to catch up and figure out how to make games at the current AAA level faster and cheaper.

5 year "do or die" development cycles for games is bad, and it's going to kill the industry or every halfway decent studio left

We just had a similar shooting in my state where they are completely avoiding mentioning anything about the shooter for some reason.

I think there's a certain contingent of people that are (rightfully) tired of getting blasted by this rhetoric for nearly a decade and still not seeing things materially improve for them at a day to day level.

Hinterlands is easily the biggest zone, that's normal. You don't have to 100% complete a zone before moving on to a different one.

You're missing out, I think. Albums are very intentionally curated experiences (good ones, anyway) and there's a lot to be said for listening to an album front to back. Give it a shot sometime, it's a good way to listen to music.

80s is my most listened era in general. A lot of people were playing with new sounds in the 80s, which is why I like it.

Lots of "let's just try this out and see if people like it".

Probably They Might Be Giants' first or second album. Or something of Oingo Boingo's.

It's not a forced thing, I just don't like sweet stuff. I gave up soda years ago, and everything became too sweet for my tastes after that.

That could definitely be it. Going to the gym starting this weekend regardless, it's just confusing. I've been consistently and reasonably losing weight for like 3 months, and slowly losing weight over the past 2 years. I actually completely gave up alcohol and fast food recently, so it feels weird to hit this road bump. Eating less than I ever have (not intentionally) because of meds, too.

How can you truly know how many calories youre burning?

I know how much I'm eating, which is not much due to prescription stimulants making it difficult to eat large amounts of food. Not sure how many calories I'm burning, but my job is fairly active lately. I'm usually moving for about 6 hours a day at work.

Are you factoring in calories from beverage/liquids? Are you getting ebough fiber and water to have proper bowel movements?

I only drink black coffee or water, so that's definitely not it. Maybe it's *too* much fiber?

Just finished up the main quests in the Hissing Wastes. God damn that zone is big and empty. Managed to snag all of the mosaic pieces though.

Should I start doing the Oculara and collecting all the shards in the other zones, or move on to doing Emprise du Lion or Emerald Graves?

Or should I do the Descent DLC and unlock even higher tier endgame equipment?

Or do I do the Main Story and unlock the Arbor Wilds?
