Not fair.
Fun fact, if you're ADHD it's really hard to bring your meds into Japan. They really do NOT want stimulants here, I've had to go without for the past 3 weeks.

Depends. I don't think it's reasonable unless they are involved in finances in some way (payroll->banker->accountant etc.), and there's absolutely no way every job needs it. You don't need to credit check your cashiers or your manufacturing plant workers.

That's super cool and admirable. Lots of people who inherit guns just turn them in because they've never owned one before, despite it being a pretty personal item for whoever owned it before. It's a shame.

Lockpicking, it's not something I can tell many IRL people because it weirds them out.

I used to be really into collecting pocket knives too, but stopped when I was saving for my wedding/honeymoon. Hard to justify $400-$500 dollar hobby purchases when you're saving for life events.

You can't get chicken that is "salmonella free" what you can do is manually verify there are no parasites and then cut away the exterior layer of the chicken where the bacteria is. It's safe to eat (as long as it's prepared hygienically) but I think it plain tastes gross.
Fair enough. I didn't think it tasted gross, it was a very light tasting meat and mostly tasted like whatever you dipped it in.

Didn't get sick, but I think japanese food standards are way higher than the US. I've had raw chicken, horse, and beef (the last two multiple times), as well as raw eggs constantly. You can get raw egg all over the place in Japan.

Odyssey took like all the best parts of the franchise so far including the 2D games and put it into one game with immense freedom and smooth great control of both Mario and the camera.

One of those games that you don't appreciate how good it is until you go back to other games.
Odyssey is easily a top 10 game of the decade, possibly top 5.

Honda Monkey probably.

Honda brought a bunch of old bikes back, most of them 110-125cc and usually sold and used in Asia. Monkey/Dax, Super Cub, CT125 (Honda Trail).

They're all awesome in their own way if you live in a metro area. The CT125 is awesome for a little bit of offroading. None of them are highway bikes, though.

Does it though? These things are so much more than a simple money crime. So many lives are destroyed by this level of theft. Fraud on that scale ruins so many more lives than a guy who murders a few people. For example, how many elderly folks have had their retirement accounts plundered by this sort of fraud? Retirement accounts that they spent their lives building. The money they were counting on to survive their end game. It's the ordinary folks that suffer in the end. Only an evil person would do this. That deserves a death sentence.
I'm personally not at all against the death penalty, just sort of skeptical that any government can mete it out impartial. But considering the scale and the impact to thousands and thousands of people, I don't really feel like I have any problem with it.

In my personal opinion, if more CEOs feared real prosecution and real punishment for major crimes (not death penalty necessarily), my guess is that we might be doing better as a society
