Probably the biggest being that they really needed to clean up on there being way too many fucking characters, why are Podcast, Lucky, Janine, and Venkman there for instance. Then you got Finn Wolfhard who kinda has to be there since he's a family member but he has nothing to do, Ernie Hudson was nice to see but you can just have him appear briefly calling on the phone or something and then have the general scientist dude do everything Ernie Hudson did, and same with Patton where you could combine him with Ray relatively smoothly. But speaking of Dan, boy howdy was that man having fun with this movie letting out his paranormal obsessions, Kumail Nanjiani was also pretty great.
