I still hold onto my opinion that you can't change how people will interpret a movie to see themselves as the hero unless you make the message very on the nose to the point where there's no room for interpretation, which majority of the time makes for very bad movies. Even then this doesn't work, as seen with people saying that Light did nothing wrong, calling Homelander based when his followers in the final episode of Season 3 literally had the Viking Capitol dude in shot, and the anti fascism messages of Starship Troopers going over people's heads despite Neil Patrick Harris being dressed like a literal nazi. Speaking of Starship Troopers though, there is actually a comparison and bear with me here, between Johnny Rico and the Jessie character. Both start off each film bright eyed, "oh yeah I'm going to photo the war/kill the bugs just like my idols (who they don't realize are kinda terrible people)" not fully realizing what they're going to be dealing with, then they go through the horrors of war where reality kinda sets in, but by the end they essentially evolved/devolved into the archetype of the character they admired at the beginning where Johnny Rico is now the one in the propaganda piece leading soldiers to war, and Jessie is the more callous photographer who ~~moves on from the death of her idol real quick so she could get front row seats to the Oval Office execution~~. --- PS5s have liquid metal tech like the T-1000- AceCombatX Game devs don't deserve money- Zithers, in a topic he made on a game site about artists deserving money.

dancing_cactuar 04/12/24 1:12:22 PM #79	Can I just talk about how Jesse Plemons, despite being in literally one scene where he's credited as an unnamed soldier (although I suspect he and his crew are more opportunists wearing gear than actual soldiers in any of the armies, same deal with the gas station guys), also made it the most memorable scene in the movie and fucking nailed it out of the park bsp77 posted... we rarely even know whose "side" most of the characters are on. It doesn't matter. I'm remembering that one scene with the snipers vs the crazed sniper near the abandoned christmas village, and when Joel's asking questions about what's going on and who they're for in the army, they're basically like "we don't fucking know dude, we just know he's shooting at us and if we don't shoot back at him we're dead" Zikten posted... I'm disappointed that it sounds like they don't go into the backstory of the war. Damnit Yeah that was a bit of an issue for me, the closest we get to an inciting incident is mentions is that the president (who was compared to people like Gaddafi in one scene by one of the main characters) essentially repealed the 22nd amendment and disbanded the FBI, but I feel like there would be more if you get the US split up the way it is in the movie. I don't love sharks either when I'm grinding my C-tier pins and none of them are that effective against the shark's annoying swim mechanics. I already go for gold on all mind dives just to get those extra friendship points, but it having an added benefit is good to know. I can revisit chapters anyway which is good because I know I missed some stuff here and there. I feel like this was also something in the first game, being able to revisit each week. It's been a real hot minute since I played Neo, but while I remember the T-Rexes being the worst in terms of killing you, the chameleons were absolutely abominable in terms of actually fighting them, absolutely annoying wretches.
