i have some mad foresight cause I told dumey this was going to happen

my thought is that there just probably wasn't scum other than peaf in the EoD scramble, or at the very least we shouldn't be wasting our energy there at the moment

lopen you're kinda bending your brain every which way to believe that there's more scum in there instead of looking at the players who just stayed comfortable and/or left

it's an availability bias because there's just more to work with from the people who were actually around and moving

also i did a skim for sultan's commentary on corrik and it was only one stray post where he basically said 'corrik's vibes are giving up and dying lol'

so not much to work with

i came into today thinking sultan/chris/fd were good pressure targets and the nk has me second guessing chris to an extent, and fd coming in hot with the noncommittal red date which i like.

sultan + corrik seems plausible to me, still kind of neutral on isquen and the fact he paired with corrik and didn't create any fruit for himself in his night convo is... annoying.

isquen + corrik scumbuddies having to pair d1 and losing peaf would be... tragic.

See I think this helps us narrow down scumbuddies to people who weren't around a bit, for at least one of them. They weren't ready for a Peaf claim.

Death would be smart enough to not say anything about his role.

Chris would be unlikely to date Death just to murder him. There is too much value in pocketing your own dates.

I would be surprised if Chris is scum not sure why we are making dumb conclusions.

It is interesting Death died while paired with Chris. I'm skeptical scum would kill Chris given the shade he'd get today so I feel like they were targeting him specifically.

Dumey and I kind of expected the NK to be him/you/Lea so Death is a bit out of nowhere. Will have to reread him to see if there are any other nuggets about why he'd be NK'd.

I will say that I came into the day ready to say that the partner of whoever died probably isn't scum because it draws a lot of attention to you if your partner dies. Depending on Chris' behavior and potential claim, is it possible Death was killed to make Chris look worse more than anything?

My brain is having a seizure about its own wording so I'll clarify to say I don't think Dumey and Chris was theatre.

I feel like given the number of roles that don't work in this format that role is very unuseful

the only scum role it would possibly counter is some kind of observer but even then we definitely don't get anything useful from it. his role indicating there's an observer is just as useful as his scan

Anyone else feel uneasy about JC? As if he were a little too desperate to find someone to hook up with once the pool started dwindling? He had one good post about Dumey vs. Chris, but otherwise, most of his content has been skirt chasing Lea and even proposing to Isquen at some point. In particular, his last couple of posts have more or less been hard-focused on finding someone to pair up with.

Am I crazy or is anyone else feeling the same way?

oh i definitely didn't want to be in the last 3 so there was totally some desperation

i just don't really have many thoughts at the moment since i'm still figuring out how to approach the game and we're going to kind of just stall until a claim happens anyways, as i mentioned earlier. i'm satisfied with my pairing for now and that's all the day really needs so i don't feel the need to try and share for the sake of having content, especially when i think it'll be much easier to discuss things in a night chat (which can then be reshared later).

i trust lea and i will figure something out and if she's actually scum then she kind of has to at least perform trying to figure something out! and of course if i see something sus i will point it out

death isn't here and i don't think lea and corrik are going to date any time soon but i think it could be enough to maybe get corrik to claim now that chris is off the table? he hasn't been particularly keen so i'm okay with pressure on him either way

Death just doesn't want us to accidentally end day early because people are getting antsy about being left behind.

I mean, day ending automatically has a delay so there's lots of room to maneuver even if everyone pairs up. And we get another 12 hours soon.

I have not done my due diligence and worked an early shift today, so now I get to partake a bit more. The day is still young, after all.

Currently I've got a "hell no, not even if you paid me" mindset of pairing with a third of the playerbase, another third being cold, congealed fish (including my prior offer.)

This leaves the spicy other third. Lea, Peaf, JC, Lopen, FD, even if you are previously taken, you all have my attention. Woo me like... one of... your French girls?

Isquen, if Lea isn't set on dating me I would be happy to pull out the pastels and chat the night away with you. I don't really want to be in this hypothetical kingmaker position.

Death's committed to not dating today, let him do it lol.

Sure, but it's easier to scumhunt when the threat of a special makes scum more willing to make riskier plays rather than simply pair up and idle out. Which could be the case right now, or it might not be. We don't know. There's no precedent to follow here

this is why i think we should just move on with pairing up to force a claim.

the most collaborative thing anyone can do right now is move the game state forward.

i just want to remind everyone that this is a game of very individual decisionmaking, and it's b8 mafia players we're playing with, so anything can and will go wrong at end of day, especially if we have little to go off of

if i end up being the last person unpaired then so be it, but we should let things play out
