I had theorized Ulti to be town overnight but this utterly sycophantic attitude towards red based off of way less solving than Lea and I did, Death flipping Chris BG, and this senseless POE has me doubting

If Peaf had flipped town I thought Ulti was potentially TMI'ing by trying to save Peaf at the the end, but it seems like a weird thing to do if he's scum

Lea is lock town in my book. The way she tried to gotcha Peaf with the rules when Peaf's role actually did interact with a room like he said (just a different effect) makes me think there's no way she's aligned with him

Lea also really helped drive the Chaos that killed Peaf

I feel like basically everyone in the last 7 (FD, JC, Lea, me, dumey, Kirby) should be cleared because Peaf died to begin with. I feel it would be easy for anyone involved aside from me to bs trying to pair up with Peaf if they were scum

The only reason I don't clear dumey for it is it makes a lot more sense for Peaf to break as a gambit to help clear Dumey if it fails than for Peaf to not just feel content to afk with his chained up town soul mate.

I had the opposite impression and felt like Dumey was extra full cleared by how things ended, but your version makes sense too in a way.

And maybe Dumey/Peaf were both feeling the pressure of being called out for being one of the early pairs? But that same pressure was being thrown at red/Ulti and Sultan/Mzero and neither of them flinched.

They could have just as easily pretended to not be around and sidestep all the risk and deal with the leftover suspicion today.

I don't expect scum to be wanting to gambit being a team of 3.

Well the big problem is Peaf was a huge "oh no Kirby is such obvious town" bleeding heart and Sultan tried to create chaos to be fair but mzero was afk as he tends to be at that time

It was way less glaring for Ulti and red to not care (Ulti had been shading Kirby all day) and mzero to not care due to being away.

My big problem is why didn't Peaf just afk if with town Dumey. It's the easiest thing in the world.

I really don't understand why scum would hang around when you had so many NOT. It's why I thought the exercise was unlikely to actually catch any scum

Are they all scum? No. Seems so easy for Peaf to have left much earlier than he did if not with scum to begin with.

My third crackpot theory trying to explain it was that it was all a plan by Lea, who is known for over the top scum bussing.

And if the scum team were exactly Lea/JC/Peaf then all 3 of them put themselves on the chopping block at end of day knowing that they might be trading 1 to make them other 2 look good by creating a situation that scum would "never" do.

I've more or less discounted that one, but I was scraping the barrel trying to make sense of it. Especially with the semi-open setup knowing it's 3 vs 12 with no extra kills.

In that case I feel JC pairs with Peaf not Dumey

I'm not sure when Kirby will be around, but Death was actually his #1 suspect last night (ahead if red, isquen and Chris). So we'll see how he feels about the flip.

If you read JUST peaf posts and peaf related posts that's so clearly it it hurts.

But Dumey x Peaf as a gambit is a hard sell
Death being shot direct is a hard sell

But they're both plausible at least. I don't think Death had a lot of suspicion and it could have been power hunting based on how he was talking about "not exposing power roles"

I'm pretty skeptical Chris/Dumey D1 was a performance.

I'll have to read harder, probably. I didnt exactly do much in terms of due diligence day 1, and lying back and thinking of England while waiting for Corrik to say more than seven words over three lines probably didnt help matters much.

My brain is having a seizure about its own wording so I'll clarify to say I don't think Dumey and Chris was theatre.

See, that's a thing I will proffer freely. The only reaction I got from Corrik is when I pointed out we had a two-hour window of time to talk before day 2 began where we were both safe from one another, if that's what was bothering him.

It is interesting Death died while paired with Chris. I'm skeptical scum would kill Chris given the shade he'd get today so I feel like they were targeting him specifically.

Dumey and I kind of expected the NK to be him/you/Lea so Death is a bit out of nowhere. Will have to reread him to see if there are any other nuggets about why he'd be NK'd.

I will say that I came into the day ready to say that the partner of whoever died probably isn't scum because it draws a lot of attention to you if your partner dies. Depending on Chris' behavior and potential claim, is it possible Death was killed to make Chris look worse more than anything?

Chris being scum is very possible. We have no idea what death did or did not sag and Chris until proven town isn't a reliable narrator regarding it regardless.

Gonna start by saying that I believe FD is extremely likely town. Dude opened up our chat with "Look, until I can understand why Peaf got himself killed, I can't trust you because the only explanation that makes sense is that you're scum with a more useful role."

Like, that line of thinking is not something I'd expect out of scum, especially if Peaf's death was (as I theorize) very likely unplanned. So FD is at the top of my town list.

Lea is also up there for being the one to spark all the last-minute couple shuffling in spite of how illogical it would've been for anybody, especially scum, to willingly split up. I mean, I say that, but Peaf clearly endangered himself for whatever reason.

I'd also like to point out that Dumey was the one who initiated the breakup. Peaf then took it, sent a date request to me, then immediately announced to the entire game that he was gonna be afk and would miss deadline.
... Which just makes the play even more nonsensical like... what he was cooking lmfao

On that note, I believe Lopen is a solid town. FD showed me that expanded version of his spreadsheet and we talked a bit about Lopen. I asked him what he thought of Lopen splitting with Chris, and FD pointed out that Lopen likely broke up with Chris to get a shot at getting FD... which definitely feels like a town Lopen thing to do.

Oh, yeah, suffice to say I was surprised. I was even more surprised to learn that this game's version of Bodyguard auto-protects the person they're rooming with.

Means either Chris is town (likely outcome) or scum Chris is bringing back his Star Wars Mafia SK luck and shot Death without even knowing he was Bodyguard. ... Which is some kind of wicked sense of irony since Chris was the one who even floated the idea of a Bodyguard being protection super early into the game. What are the odds!
