One of the best Zelda games. Exploring the Great Sea is awesome. Some cool dungeons and bosses. Love the art style. Medli, Tetra (in the first half of the game...), and Ganon are all awesome characters. I even like the triforce hunting segment and might consider it one of the better parts of the game.

I hear HD fixes a lot of the issues but I don't like it enough to replay in any form.

Basically solidified "3D Zelda isn't for me"-- didn't even try Twilight Princess after this + Ocarina.

Do want to try Breath of the Wild sometime though. Bet I'd like that one.

Hot take perhaps, but sailing was the best part. Too easy though even on "hard mode" and the first Zelda in which I felt not every piece of land had a reason to be there. Interesting hiding places just to find some rupees (which in turn are used mainly for just one thing) got old fast.

Not gonna lie, I did replay some parts of it last Xmas (Earth temple mostly) on the GCN and it did feel very frustrating now (camera in particular). My score would be even higher if it weren't for this.

There's a lot about the game that is really good but it suffers from the same problem Skyward Sword has where the overworld is 90% uninteresting filler that takes too long to get through. Also it really could have used like one or two more dungeons IMO. And the triforce hunt sucks, even in the Wii U version.

My dream Next 3D Zelda involves the landmass size of BOTW paired with something akin to a Great Sea redux.

I love this game aesthetically and it has some fantastic high points but when I think about actually playing it again also going through the lows, I realized I'm no longer as enthused.
