The weak second half is real, but it's foundational for a reason.

I've played some of this and kinda hated it. I'd probably be in the FFD camp but there's a chance it'd grow on me.

Breakable equipment is one of the most minor inconveniences in DS1.

Its been over 10 years since I played the Ps3 version so I could be wrong, but every time I play a Souls it just reminds me why its not my kind of game and since I know many loves them I wanted to give a reason for my low score.

I absolutely HATED this game when I first played. Obnoxious, obtuse, ugly, and just plain not fun.

Around 15 hours later... 10/10 game. What a turnaround.

Hey I played this for the first time last year. Currently on DS3 and it's my final FromSoft Soulsborne game (including Sekiro). Would probably give a 9 to DS 1 through 3 (2 was so good, don't get the hate) and Elden Ring was a 10.

To me, From existing has been a net negative to gaming.

I get that (a lot of) people love them and I won't yuck on their yum. (Elsewhere, obv. This whole topic series is about yucking and yuming.) But they have pretty much all been hot garbage.

Can't wait for Capcom to make Resident Evil 9 a Soulslike in order to 'revamp the series' again

I cannot imagine how much you have to hate a game to give it a 1.4. I fucking hated Xenoblade Chronicles, a game that takes 2x-3x as long to finish, and I still gave it a 3 because there's still an essential quality of production to it.

Anyway, I can't rate Dark Souls because I somehow have not actually played it yet.

I got Bloodborne when it was free on PS+

Like FFD, the best thing I can say about it is that I didn't pay for it

RE7 was absolutely inspired by PT and indie horror games. If RE9 is another reboot, then it's going to look at market trends - maybe take things in a more action-oriented direction, like they've done multiple times before.

The chance of it being a Soulslike is extremely low, but not 0!
