Fun setpieces, good story, bad gameplay (but not as bad as UC1).

The main game that sold me on getting a PS3, have soooo many memories playing through both the single player campaign and dozens and dozens of hours in the multi-player. Such a fun time.

that is literally the first time i have ever seen someone say they like UC1 more than 2

Great game, and great set pieces that games for better or worse are still chasing to this day. A little too heavy on stealth for not having a great stealth system. (You could call the stealth largely optional, but try beating it on Uncharted difficulty without it.)

You could easily say it set up some bad trends, but there are numerous great games you could say that about.

UC2 tries to hard to be cinematic and ends up being a slog. I found the train sequence very tedious and making you do it twice was dumb imo also they made Drake bland, Sully's barely in it, and all the new characters are bad. The core gameplay is improved but it's still not very good so I prefer the simplicity of UC1

I wouldn't describe UC1 as "simple." The game might actually be more tolerable if it were.

Also the part of the train they make you do twice takes like 5 minutes.

Well it feels like an eternity, especially the second time

I'm not even sure it's 3 minutes.

I bought a PS3 for RE5 and MGS4. Uncharted 2 just happened to come with the console. It ended up being one of my favourite games of all time

Uncharted 1 is pretty awful to the point where I avoided trying this game for a really long time.

This game is actually pretty fun though if you just go ham with dashing around trying to melee everything and avoid drawn out cover shoot outs as much as possible.

I think the gameplay tries too hard to be "cinematic" at times to its detriment and the writing is about 20% as clever as it thinks it is, but even with 20% it's a fun enough time.

Much better than the first game. A solid Saturday night movie experience, even if there's not much under the surface and it falls off in the final act.

God I miss when AAA companies believed you could add multiplayer to a game without it being the last game a studio makes for a decade.

Except for EA.

8/10. This one is unfortunately kind of hard for me to rate because I got the never patched audio sync bug that lasts for the entire game and can only be fixed by deleting your save data and started over. So the cutscenes were significantly compromised for me. But I think it was a really good game!
