Why does it feel so controversial to support 'not killing civilians, and especially kids.' when it comes to the Israel/Palestine conflict? Like... that should be basic human decency? Idk, but somehow people will call you antisemitic for thinking genocide is bad. And it sux, cause you'd think we could all agree killing kids is bad. It's bad when Hamas does it, it's bad when Israel does it. But apparently saying that makes you a supporter of Hamas in the eyes of some people, and I just don't get it.

Israel goes very hard on its PR/propaganda and pushing the "Anti-Zionism = Anti-Semetism" and "Supporting (or even just feeling bad for) Palestinian Civilians = Supporting Hamas = Anti-Israel (= Anti-Zionism = Anti-Semetism)" narratives.

One of the saddest and wildest things about it is how close Israel is acting to Nazi Germany. Youd think a group of people who were subjected to that shit would vow to never make anyone else suffer such horrors either and yet here we are. God humans fucking suck so hard I hope we dont exist in other universes or timelines or whatever because were a plague to all life including fellow humans

There has been a very concerted effort to polarise the discussion as to where you literally cannot make any kind of statement without being painted into a side by somebody, because it benefits the extremists to keep people divided and angry. Hence why Netanyahu and the Israeli government actually supported Hamas previously, to prevent peace.

The amount of vermin rhetoric I'm fed on socials is just plain depressing. Especially with what's going on in my life and seeing how hatred can radicalize a family member, I'm astounded to see so many people do the exact same thing over this conflict. Overloading themselves in a disgust that dehumanizes entire peoples and even with it pointed out they accuse you of terrorism.

Im sure a lot of opinions would be reversed too if Israel were the non-white ones. Humanity is so divided were destroying ourselves and everything with us. If there ever was a doomsday scenario it wouldnt go like the movies where everyone works together. Everyone would just try to fuck over everyone else and wed all lose

Wish the poll had a more clear option than "better to wait" because that doesn't preclude supporting an invasion... just later, but it could be a sign that even in Israel public support for a ground invasion is not there (a previous poll had support for a ground invasion at 65% on the 19th). Don't know if that will matter to Netanyahu's government though.

Some of the language used by Israel elected officials and influencers is extremely, and literally, pro-genocide, at the very least.

Are they not planning to eradicate the Palestinians that are living in whats called the worlds largest open air prison where they also control whether they have access to water and electricity and whatnot? It might as well be just a few steps away from concentration camps and gas chambers imo

Theyre not planning to eradicate the Palestinians. Theyre going after Hamas, which just carried out the biggest terrorist attack since 9/11. It is true that a lot of innocent Palestinians are going to get caught in the crossfire and thats totally fair game to criticize, but theyre doing nothing close rounding up civilians to put in concentration camps and gas chambers.

The Isreali government would absolutely love to wipe out the Palestinians and reclaim the land.

They've openly said they consider Palestinians in general to be animals, and that they don't understand why anybody cares about them.

Now if you wanna argue that was an old man mispeaking, sure, but that's what was said.

I saw a really nasty video of old Israel soldiers happily recalling the rapes and murders of Palestinians. Instead of such things normally giving people PTSD and shit these guys talked like it was their happiest time alive and it was extremely unsettling. Sure theres propaganda left and right with the whole ordeal over there, but uh yeah really nasty stuff

Switching over to the ongoing NY Civil Trial for a moment:

Today the two sides got into an argument over whether Ivanka can be compelled to testify. The AG wants to call her to testify and Trump's team was objecting. Her lawyer says she doesn't live or work in NY but she never submitted an affidavit stating such. When the judge asked what NY property she owned the defense went "we don't know," the AG gave a list of properties, and then the defense claimed it was out of date (despite having just said they didn't know.) The defense also tried to offer up Eric instead but the AG went "lolno"

The judge ruled she can be called as a witness but she can appeal the decision.

We also have tentative dates for when the Trumps will be called to testify. The kids starting Wednesday, and Trump himself currently scheduled for November 6.

Yeah Biden needs to push back hard against that statement and make it clear the US will go along with decisions of the UN Human Rights council.
