Basically, you can choose one of the options above and it would be given the full remake treatment. It can either be a extremely faithful remake (almost 1:1 but with updated graphics and music), a remake that fixes a few issues that were present in the original and maybe some extra content, or a remake that takes chances on a few things in terms of gameplay and story elements and isn't trying to just be a more pretty version of the original game. Presumably, just assume that the end result is also, at least (but not exactly), a good game that largely satisfies its original fans. You can also comment if there are other games on the poll you'd like a remake of as well as any other games not on the poll.

So yeah, looking at the list, I would probably say and HD Banjo remake in a similar fashion to Crash and Spyro would probably be the one I would want the most. Final Fantasy 8 could also be amazing to see redone (though I don't think I would want Square to go the same route with it as they did with FF7R), and the Sonic Adventures could definitely benefit from it if Sega fine-tunes some of the flaws.

This list? Probably SotN with some weapon rebalancing, drop changes, boss AI, and adjusting the soundtrack of the Inverted castle to run a few other tracks.

And adding Maria mode for those of us who never got the opportunity to play her except in gremlin mode.

Bundling Tooie with Kazooie is a bit of a mistake, though. While I'd argue it plays like a 3D Metroidvania, half of the worlds are just flat out tedious (Cloud Cuckooland and Terrydactyland being the worst offenders, and Grunty Industries kind of sucks when you get past the awesome-at-the-time hurdle of actually getting inside it.)

A full FF8 remake has long been a dream of mine, I'd love to see the game iron out its kinks and realise its full potential as a great. Though I don't know who I'd trust to do it right!

xenogears or ff8 for sure (partially because i've never played xenogears before)

a lot of these games do not need an actual remake because the original games still hold up (paper mario, chrono trigger, earthbound, phoenix wright)

Many of these games are fully realized as they are. CT, EB, TTYD, and SOTN will never need remakes.

Xenogears definitely needs help. Its an amazing game held back by graphics that have aged like ass, and theres a lot of rough edges with the gameplay too

Went with Xenogears. I almost said none, because HD remakes are way overdone, but as others have said, it could use the help.

For those saying SotN doesn't need a remake... I do agree, but I was doing a replay of it when the metroidvania humble bundle hit and switched over to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and, wow, does its age show. But it doesn't need a remake. I mean, you want some fancy new graphics and a game that feels more or less just like SotN, it exists.

Would want ff8 or xenogears and voted neither because the OP clarified that this is more a 'the same game by and large' type of remake than an ff7r type total overhaul. I love both games but the things they need to shine brightest are super out of scope for what the topic defines this type of remake as. As such, voted SotN, which could be super sick with some expansions and rebalancings.

I had the opposite experience somewhat recently. To me Bloodstained feels like such a waste when SotN both looks and plays way better.

That last one was supposed to cover a FF7R type game but I guess the wording of that might have been confusing to understand.

All the 2D games hold up pretty well. It's gotta be Banjo or Xenogears. I'd be pretty happy to play either.

I'm skeptical about whether new graphics would look better than the originals for the Paper Mario games. Most people seem to prefer the original 2D graphics to the 3D art we got in the Mario & Luigi remakes.

I want FF8 because i want their original idea for the game to become a reality. They wanted both Squall and Laguna to have fully playable stories but the disc space at the time just wasn't enough. I'd have loved to see Laguna's parts of the game a lot more fleshed out. Honestly they'd probably even be better than the main parts of the game if they did it right.

Full remake? They can fix the hell out of Xenogears. Fix the slow text, fix the issue practically everyone had with the second disc, add some more story beats... I mean, we're talking remake. There was a lot to like about Xenogears, it's just that production issues emblematic of its time hampered it.

A 2D-HD Chrono Trigger remake with Live-A-Live/Star Ocean 2 remake level graphics, full voice acting, and two new sidequests: a full Ayla Singing Mountain sidequest that revamps the Lost Sanctum quest into a proper quest for her and eliminates all the backtracking, and a quest that allows you to save Schala from the Darkness Beyond Time and put her in your party.
