Slightly lower this game as i gave him one extra draw (magik) but denied one with black widow and he lost out on a second by putting Thors hammer in his deck and drawing it naturally

im already infinite so the cubes dont matter, i just thought it was funny to see it go from -50 in every lane to me losing off of one card

I definitely know the feeling, I was running a Hazmat/Spectrum deck before Cerebro and those times where you were sure you had the payoff and it just gets robbed are just tragic D:

Kinda agreeing. Not entirely sure why. Definitely seeing too many decks with him but not sure that's actually the issue.

Annoying cards that combo off each other.

It's really just an annoying deck, and they all play identical. It's not as annoying as Galactus decks, but it's just not enjoyable to deal with?

It's definitely a matter of meta saturation right now, but it's also not fun to see your guys get nerfed into the center of the earth when the opposing player doesn't have to do anything to "earn it."

Even if the differential is the same, it feels way better to lose a lane with 15 to their 30 than it does to lose with -5 to their 10.

I'm just running decks that can afford to slot luke cage and haven't felt too bad but I also haven't played as much as usual the last two days

I feel like if you retreat against Sunspot and Lizard thats like a good half of the decks you face and they may not even be Galactus >_>

So is there anything I can add to improve the High Evo deck I posted earlier?

If you're deadset on using all 8 HE cards you've probably got one of the optimal setups there. Maybe swap something for Rogue or Enchantress to stop opposing Luke Cage since everybody's using him right now

otherwise you could decide to focus more on either the unspent energy cards or the negative power cards, at which point you're basically building a whole new deck around it

most high evolutionary decks i've seen have been running a sunspot / she-hulk / scorpion package

i've been messing around with a lockjaw package (lockjaw / thor / jane foster / doctor doom) which is probably just worse but has been fairly solid for me anyway

oh i've also seen like a moon girl variant of the she-hulk package too where you try to drop 2x abomination 2x she-hulk on turn 6

but that one seems inconsistent to me

I'd imagine there's a package where you also run wave so you can try throw down She-Hulk and Abom early or with Wave T5 so you can be ahead T6 and like Doom or Hulk

Clutter their board/deck and High Evo cant even play some stuff? Id imagine a deck with like Yondu, Korg, Viper, Debrii, Rockslide would be pretty annoying to High Evo players. Alternatively Enchantress their Luke Cage if they have it and play Valkyrie turn 6. Theres probably other stuff as options too

Maybe a Patriot deck with like Luke Cage + Enchantress or Rogue in?

Or, lol, Galactus probably feasts on HE

I play like ass with my High Evo deck. So I would suggest just focusing on playing well yourself and it should work out.

I think I played like 5 games with HE the other day and went 3-1-1. Felt awkward to play but I was also running all the HE cards and it feels like you probably should only run a few. Shocker feels actively bad as I had HE or Wasp at the far left whenever I played it and Misty Knight seems questionable as other 1 drop probably better than her.

Cyclops and Wasp feel pretty OP and I'd guess those will be the target of the inevitable nerf

Nebula can likely replace a 1 drop in a HE deck if you have her. Shocker has been fairly nice for me though. Hes still weak, but Ive had hit him my Hulk like 3 times already so thats been cool. They definitely need more cards who can have their power unlocked though because theres very few and some of them are whatever still

I complained about tokens then like my next cache was 600 tokens lol

Hot Take: High Evolutionary is not fun to play against.

Not really a hot take when all the Big Bads were unfun to play against other than maybe Kang who I never saw. Thanos, Galactus and High Evo are all pains and Im sure High Evo decks will see some nerfs not long from now

I wonder what the best way to balance HE would be. I think the only drawback to the deck is that HE himself is useless outside of his effect, but that doesn't mean much when you might not even draw him. I almost feel like HE should share Quicksilver's effect and just be a borderline dead card taking up space in your starting hand.

Nah, Kang was absolutely unfun to play against.

I can count on one hand the number of times I faced him, but he would always play turn 6, see he was going to lose, and then retreat.

Such a monumentally bullshit card. Fortunately you're still better off not using him for most decks.

Yeah, I dunno how you fix a card like HE. Kinda hard to nerf some of the weaker cards he buffs because then they risk being worthless again. Hulk will probably be nerfed to +1 instead of 2, but otherwise I dunno. I feel like Abomination or Thing would be next on the block for nerfs out of the HE cards and then maybe Cyclops after them. The rest arent really worth nerfing

Wasp is basically 0/3 that also enables Abom.

Cyclops should probably only be -1 per unspent energy upto a max of 2. Or his ability should only trigger once or something. Since he's both enabling Abom and increasing Hulk (and probably sunspot too).

Those are the two that will likely be nerfed first imo since it also effectively nerfs Abom and Hulk in the process.

If you had to play him, he's unplayable because he's 4 cost and by the time you get him out, you can't make enough use of his effect. They would have to make him 1-2 cost if that was the requirement

HE is definitely intended to be a dead card, which is why I suggested he should start in your opening hand as an actual drawback to playing his deck.

Why not? It's super thematic, and it's an obvious result considering they nerfed him to 4/4 (data mining showed 4/7)

High Evo himself should be nerfed to 4:1 or even 4:0. The utility he adds to other cards should force him to take up a spot in decks with no added power.

Theres no point changing High Evos power because he doesnt get played anyways. Making him a 4/1 just furthers that. If you make him need to be played he just turns into a niche Mr. Negative kind of deck you barely get to use

Which is why they did 4/4 instead of 4/0. Considering negative, 4/4 is technically the weakest stats he can have.

Why would you ever play HE and Mr. Negative when all of HE's support cards have higher power than cost?

Yeah, for reference Mr Negative is less power but a FAR more powerful effect and is....kinda not good.

Any card that a deck HAS to draw to work is going to have a lot going against it

I think making him 2 cost is fair. Not low enough to be hit by Elektra or Killmonger, but they would be forced to make him take up a spot and add a little depth to when they want to play every other card to get the effect after he's played.

This deck has a decent amount of final turn options. Got to drop Hulk and a 0 cost Abomination final turn

Winning a match because Misty gave +1 to a card when you were otherwise gonna lose the tiebreaker by like 35 points feels soooooo disgusting. Hit tier 50 very easily and won 9/10 matches playing High Evo
