That Wolverine is awesome. Most of the variants in that aren't interesting but I love that Wolverine and love one of the Helas.

I really wish the game itself had some kind of gallery of available variants so you knew what to hold out for. Even better would be a way to mark some kind of wishlist!

Oh my goodness someone just Shang-Chi'd my Typhoid Mary to win a lane on turn 6 but it gave +3 to both of my other lanes and I won the game. One of the lanes I was losing 6 to 8 and it was webbed so it flipped to 8-9.

That is exactly the kind of stupid play I would make and feel like an idiot so I'm glad it didn't happen to me.

You are strongly underestimating how much people like to win.

If they don't associate the win with the Zabu tweak then it doesn't actually improve the game. They might see a bit more cubes but they'll still hate Zabu. They might not even know he was changed.

Also players love big memorable wins, even if they are statistically worse off due to a bunch of minor losses. That's the basis of casino games and this game definitely follows that. They can always increase the rate of bots if they want people to statistically win more. But the only way to create more memorable moments is with card changes.

Woah Leader change is big. I figured they would make him copy the cards in his location only, but other location is really smart to avoid things like Odin and Leader getting repeatedly copied

There are some extra rare variants that can show up exclusively in the token shop. They're pretty rare though, even series 5 cards are more likely to appear there. Confusingly they are called "Ultimate Variants" even though there are cards with regular variants depicting the version of the character from the Ultimate Universe that are also called "Ultimate Variant"

Aww, didn't realize the new location says "cards that cost 6" rather than "6-cost cards" so my She Hulk Infinaut plan won't work quite as well as I wanted. Probably still pretty solid though.

I like it. Just had someone play Goose on it and it revealed while I was winning. They quickly retreated.

When Elysium and Plunder Castle are on the same match. Neither myself nor my opponent had a card we could play in the middle. Wouldve won, but didnt know he had Shang-Chi so ended up losing turn 6 after he destroyed Devil Dinosaur

Just got BP from a reserve, thats cool.

Had a lot of Spider-Man pointing this match. We both played Jubilee and both pulled a rock with her on the same location and then both played Devil Dinosaur turn 5. He retreated turn 6 before I got to try using the Leader that Agent 13 pulled for me.

lmao I just won a game because their Iceman hit my Sera and they had no 6 drop for the new location

Im really loving Hazmat in my Wong deck as a contingency plan for if I dont pull the right cards in the first four turns. At the very least i can Wong, possibly Mystique, and then Hazmat the other side to oblivion. In that situation it doesnt matter as much to me because I havent played much of anything else. I threw in Hazmat instead of Okoye this morning bc Okoye wasnt doing much in that deck.

so far its caused two people to retreat the moment they see every single card of theirs drop 4 power at once lol

I hope my luck with series 4+ cards gets better at some point. The two I've pulled were Titania and Orka. One of those isn't even series 4 anymore >_>

Titania is the ultimate big brain card, lol. Whenever I pull her randomly with a location or Agent 13 I really overthink it

Yeah it's really fun locking your opponent's lane with Titania + Green Goblin on turn 4 though if they have 2 cards in the lane. Then you just have to play a card there on turn 6 for a 10 power swing.

Shang-Chi being played causes me to lose more than any other card probably. I never know if people already have him or not especially when the locations that give you random decks/cards pop up.

Gambit is a great intimidator with Wong too. More than half the time I either don't get Odin, or playing Gambit turn 3/5 kills my Odin, but it's often enough to scare away the opponent.

Yeah it was the exact same for me for a long time. Armor really helps to know at least 1 lane is safe.

My favorite Titania plays

Titania + Goblin (Titania first) same turn on a lane with 2. If they play a single guy Titania stays on your side. If they play no guys Titania and Goblin lock the lane and you swing her back for +10 turn 6.

Titania turn before Professor X, get initiative (easier with Titania on your side) drop Xavier into Titania's lane and she can't go across.

I might swap Sentinel out for Armor just in case of Shang-Chi. Hell I might swap Storm out still too for Cosmo or Killmonger to deal with some other pesky stuff too.

Shang chi has won me so many games.

I bet! Also I like their reasoning for buffing Wolverine, but then why is Cyclops left as a 3/4 no ability card? I rarely ever see him played because why would you when so many better 3 cost cards are in the game

I think hes intended to be for the no-ability buff decks.

once you start seeing patriot decks you'll see Cyclops

Ive basically only seen Patriot from random draws so far. I think most of what Im running into now is Movement decks or distribution types with Iceman and Scorpion among other stuff. Its weird I was seeing so much variety before and now its rare to ever even see Enchantress or Cosmo be played

I think Patriot + Mystique decks are the two most common decks I face at this point. And it sucks.

Right now I'm only running into Zabu decks. It's either Zabu/Shuri or Zabu/Darkhawk. I'm playing Zabu/Shuri so I'm part of the problem I guess but Zabu is too OP to not play.

How long do people generally wait before they just cave and buy a card with tokens?

When the Token Shop first launched and they gave you a dump of tokens to start using it, I splurged on Agent Coulson for my Devil Dinosaur decks and he has served me well

But since then I have the mindset that Im eventually going to get all of these Series 3 and 4 cards for free on the track, so the best long term strategy is to save up for cards theyve said probably wont ever be dropping from Series 5 like Thanos and Galactus, because it could take FOREVER to get those for free.

But hey, if you see a card you really want to build a deck around, and you want to grab it, that makes sense for most people.

Im not sure what cards Id build a Rogue deck around, but I guess I can always just wait since almost everything is gonna appear for free at some point along the way

Rogue is mainly used as an alternative to Enchantress. You dont really build a deck around her, shes a counter card like Shang Chi

Watched a video where the guy had on the person who has the highest known Rank Level, 402 (fucking hell, by the way). He said his most used card is Dracula, because theres no way to counter it. The effect hits after any Shang Chi or location effect or anything else, so hes always a safe play, and combined with Zabu its a no-brainer

That's true but I've been countered by Maximus a few times with Dracula although maybe unintentionally. Planning on Discarding Apoc for 20 power or something but Maximus makes me draw my Blade that Dracula discards instead.

But yeah I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the cards like Dracula or Collector that just increase in power based on stuff happening that's not ongoing or on reveal. Feels like they need a new keyword to interact with those cards.

You could definitely put Rogue into an Ongoing Onslaught deck. If you know you can double her effect on turn 6, then playing her by herself on turn 5 becomes more viable.

Woooow all of the new kids are playing with the new nerfed Leader though.

Sometimes I get too confident when I'm on a winning streak and stop thinking about the combo someone is setting up on me.

Maybe it's a brain fog thing from working all day but sometimes I really find myself not even trying to consider what the other person could be playing. When I watch streamers they're always talking out the turns and talking about every potential play the opponent could be doing. Does anyone else play like that?

I try to some extent but ever since getting into pool 3 the options exploded so much, it's hard to consider everything. Requires so much playtime to learn.

Also I got Wave in my shop, should I buy her? So many decks use her but I dunno if I want to play those decks
