How Leon's dialogue sounds in this trailer will decide if I buy this.

RE4 looks fucking amazing.

Felt like they were setting up to end with the line and they didn't do it. Bad sign.

The audio in my stream is bad so I missed this, but that's good!

Right now I've got a hard line that if he doesn't say the bingo line I won't buy it, but if they add a bunch of other cheeky one liners then I could be swayed to forgive it if they don't.

Salazar CONFIRMED

Seeing RE4 remake legit had me tearing up, oh my god it looks so fucking good.

That gameplay, and second trailer, man. March can't come soon enough.

Also I ain't gonna lie, some of the pre-order costumes look real good.

The last one looks it could be based on the Castle RE4 Beta build.

Not sure i like the look of Salazaar but that's about all i can complain about from that trailer

Not going to lie, RE4 looks immense!

RE4 seems to be going harder on the scare factor and not as much in the camp, which is a shame but at least there was that cow part. I suppose making it not as campy really makes it its own thing and lets RE4 original be its unique goofy campy self.

But yea generally seems pretty nice. Leon parrying the chainsaw with his gun was ridiculous but awesome (I guess I could kind of throw that in the campy-ish territory too with how outlandish that is)

I don't know. Maybe I'm too optimistic, or it's my giant rock hard boner for RE4(Best game ever made), but I don't get the feeling the camp is going to be gone.

First off, I feel like the scare factor here is solely due to graphical fidelity. It obviously looks amazing, and the darker tones/lighting of the initial interaction with the villagers has a lot to do with this, but the original oozed atmosphere as well. Did some of the camp off-set some of the scare factor? Sure. But I'd say village through castle had some very good horror elements to it, and a lot of that was just the atmosphere. Island kind of goes off the rails with the action, it still had Regenerators though.

Capcom has been solid, or even down right amazing the past 5-6 years. Yes, they stumbled a bit with the Remake of 3, and 2 while not a 1 to 1 remake, was still on of the best games of the last generation.

You can already tell this Leon is a lot different from the 2 remake too. Plus he is still kicking the shit out of ganados to get away(praying for suplexes still), blocking a chainsaw with what appears to be an indestructible knife. I do think some lines may be removed. I can maybe see them removing the "ballistics" line, but who knows.

To me Salazar seemed to be being played more straight in this preview, although I suppose he got very little time in the trailer so I can't make that judgement for sure. We'll see, it looks wonderful no matter what really so this isn't really me complaining about it.

It works like RE2 remake. So you can move and shoot, albeit slowly.

Also this is the first game I have pre-ordered in like 6 years...And I got it twice. I got my wife into video games and she loves Resident Evil now(she only plays like 3 series lol). So I'll play on PC and she will play on the Playstation.

And Skyrim was re-made like once with VR maybe too. This isn't just the endless re-releases they did with Skyrim and RE4 in the past. This is a fully new game.

Those are re-releases of the same RE4 game you have listed there.

The game they showed is a completely new game based on RE4. Like the RE2 and RE3 remakes.

It does seem to have durability that goes down as you use it. You can briefly see in one of the clips that it breaks entirely when you block the chainsaw.

I'm still really baffled that we're living in a world where the two horror games that needed a remake the least are both having one developed at the same time. I'll never say that either RE4R or SH2R were necessary or even necessarily a good idea... but RE4R at least does look like it's going to be a lot of fun to play.

I would have been happy with a good remaster for Silent Hill 2 tbh.

They literally didn't need to touch Resident Evil 4 though.

Yeah and I'm assuming this is the case because the knife seems to have more defensive utility as well as offensive.

Would be kind of broken if it was like the original knife...which was broken anyway.

I'm fine with the knife being breakable. It was one of the reasons RE4 was ridiculously easy to begin with.
