Yeah. When I said that things didn't logically resolve without a third party... Well, look what happened!

Even trying to make myself think of what hints I should have taken... I don't think my mafia knowledge gets there. Someone mentioned Kirby doesn't know how Chris plays and I sure don't either. Perhaps that's why we were left? For all the stuff about how we were banking on crazy coincidents, Chris being SK needed a good amount of such unbelievable things too.

Honestly Chris I felt like you were secondguessing yourself way too much to be town, but thats a biased perspective now I guess.

Damn did you know that Ulti was the Doc with that N4 target? I'm curious what your thought process was for the Leech Seeds and how you came to the conclusion that Red was the right call for N7.

Also as much as Lea was giving us something to take notice of there, MZero sure didn't feel like it but I suppose being the last scum, he didn't see the point.

Thank you for allowing me to play after so long, Han. I didn't think I would at first and actually asked if I could be in dead town chat before it existed lol. It was fun, I am happy with my performance regardless of what people that know Chris are saying I should have thought of. Of course, I'm kicking myself a little over it, but it is what it is. Oh well. I want to play another time, but it wont be this month so probably not the next one.

Followed the entire game. It was awesome. Great job making the game and the roles, good job by Chris.

Put me in the camp of suspecting Chris early on because he should not have lived so long.

Can we get a timeline here of who Chris and the scum targeted each night? There were definitely some weird kills this game, and I'm curious what the reasoning behind each one was.

Scum:
D1: Ben neighbors Chris
N1: Ben chats to Chris. I shoot at Chris, IGCD intercepts. MZero thieves SBell, but nothing happens.
---Pokemon surprise occurs, because we didn't know either.---
N2: Watcher fear - Lea shoots Corrik, MZero transforms and sees if SBell had a night option.
N3: I shoot Chris again. Plum's Leech Seed takes the shot. MZero steals from hb and finds out that SBell did nothing.
N4: I backup as Redirector and think "huh it's too on the nose to point someone right at a kill" so I make Kirby observe JC. MZero transforms into Chris and kills Death. Lea does nothing (but gets visited at least once, triggering a roleblock on red, probably.)
N5: Lea kills Sultan, MZero steals from hb to find out red didn't go anywhere.
N6: MZero transforms into red and shoots Ulti.
N7: MZero steals from hb while also shooting red. Hb finds out that MZero visited himself and red.
(Last scum dies, rest of the kills are Chris and lynches.)

SK timeline:
Night 1: Gets neighbored by Ben, shoots Lea and finds BP day 1.
Night 2: Leeches plum.
Night 3: Shoots Lea
Night 4: Leeches someone who didn't get targeted it doesn't matter, probably Ulti.
Night 5: Shoots Lea
Night 6: See Night 4
Night 7+ ??? (I forget what day Lea got lynched)

I would have probably considered Chris qay more if there hasn't been a single kill every night, I did not consider that he could be a killing role not scum at all because of 1 kill every single night. This requires leech seed -> solar beam. I couldn't get Chris to work in the scum team and I was perfectly right he wasn't there. Damn.

Also one final time. Darthmanitan would have been so cool.

Red death night was hilarious because I was totally ready for there to be a third party. Negates almost all of ctes and kirby's defenses lol.

Like I think I win this game harder if there is a double tap tbh, I just have to kick it into gear.

Also, Kirby, ctes, did it not occur to you in the slightest that if Chris is asking you both "why haven't you voted" that you should probably question the same thing back?

i've been working on my own game but I would request that an experienced host help me look over things as far as balance and such is concerned. i think it should be a fun one though. but i'm in no rush and don't need to skip over anybody who wants to host or has something ready to go.

Man with all my inexperience and after spending a full day telling Kirby he's making flawed statements; anyone saying I should have seen Chris being third party here, now that's a flawed.

Everything looks different if Chris doesn't get to night kill as Bulbasaur too. Everything. I might have died too then, but I certainly begin to suspect then. I wasn't as hard on Kirby as it seemed though knowing he was town he was being too sure about some dumb things probably. I looked at setup and everything and I couldn't piece together Chris being scum. The 1 kill a night was too perfect for me to consider third party at that point. An SK might not be as obscure as what I was trying to figure out, but it sure required way more conditionals to be there. Not bad at all, I'm sure watching such is frustrating knowing the truth, but jeez, take off those 20/20 hindsight glasses. This is before considering I have nothing to compare his play to. He played great but as he said himself; super lucky too lol.

People are wrong about rule 1 of b8 mafia. They think it means "If Chris lives more than a few days he's scum". It doesn't, that's rule 2. Rule 1 is "everything is always obvious after the game is over". There's never been a single good scum/indy play in the history of b8, just bad towns failing to know what the dead town totally knew before the host told them.

That and some indy wincons are just ridiculous

I read all of day 1 and this final day and sporadically followed the rest... gotta say this was enjoyable as hell.

Chris... you are a genius. I have no idea how you managed to:
1) Remove the target from your back that you put on yourself with that prewritten post that totally controlled the discussion of the first topic
2) Managed to create an endgame with two other players who would solely go against one another even though you knew they were both town
3) Somehow didn't kill anyone with your SK powers because you targeted the BP, then the same player as scum did for seven game days
4) Exterminate scum and, as SK, create the illusion that scum was still present
5) Get lucky as fuck with the recipe for success being handed to you on a silver platter

I don't know who I would've chosen on this final day, myself. I had my suspicions of Chris from Day 1 (Han can attest to this) and I was noticing slight inconsistencies with Kirby and ctes's posts that made me think each of them could be scum. To see that it was all Chris's plotting was quite the amazing twist.

...I may actually play in the next one, but that will require thought on my part given how I tend to be in ORGs like this.

Hell, before mzero died, I thought it was Scare/ctes. As scum.

Yeah, simple solution wasn't there at all, was right about that much. This is both impressive and incredibly clutch. Some of the claims in the chat are ridiculous.

I spectated for seven of the days, I don't know how that changed my view of things and it's hard to say what I wouldn't have thought as a player. After two games of spectating, red might be my favorite player to watch. Despite him being an offender for the above, he's usually clever and keeps it short, it makes for good spectating.

Flavor was incredible, I loved it. Helps a lot these might just be the two franchises I have spent the most time on obviously. Pokemon puns in general is just fun.

Also, I felt really sorry for when we PoE'd Mzero lol. He felt genuinely tired of that happening at that point, I fully believed that was demotivating.

The opening crawls for Star Wars days and the first Pokemon day when Han sang the Pokemon theme were 10/10. Fun flavor gives the game a grander feel

Yeah that was great. I loved that.

My plan worked I guess. I really was playing bad on purpose to keep my role going. Also you can check the tape (chat). I had the game solved - MZero + Lea with an SK, first guess Scare second guess Chris.

I flew under the radar until the one person I regularly interact with outside of Mafia decided to scan me :(

Chris played well. I even pseudo-informed was not sure if he was scum or SK for a long time. I did definitely not think he was townish-- but I also only paid attention to day 1 and day 2 so that may have played to my advantage as I missed Chris doing things that made people think he was town.

I kinda blame myself for him winning because I would have absolutely pushed for his lynch day 1 if I could have stayed in the game-- not that I would have got him lynched day 1 but with my flip eventually that might lead some others to actually suspect him. He was playing too passively for my liking, not really pushing hard enough for lynches with votes. But I actually could not play. Absolutely could not.

I did have Han mention that there was a SK in the game but I do think that he should have lost that last day just on setup meta (scum Gladiator/Watcher didn't make much sense with the setup, nor did two Godfathers) and "why is Chris alive if he's town." Chris bussing like 4 scum isn't totally out of the question. Also thought playing coy with the shot was going to get him lynched (do realize why he did it) but vengeful was a good damage control of that.

Chris was my only remotely good read this game though. My internal scum lists contained Ulti and Sultan reliably as scum. I did have Ben and Isquen down but yeah. I would not have been very helpful regardless.

But still yeah Chris did well.

Also yeah I wish I got to play in this for real. Super awesome setup.

I think the setup was perfect outside of hated townie. You cannot ever use that role and it's banned for a reason. I don't care if the flavor worked; role balance matters more than flavor fit.

Beyond that, 10/10 game and worth the hype. Thank you for hosting!

Hated Townie is less powerful for Scum than Scum having that person as a vanilla Scum instead. There were some discussions with other hosts I checked with about putting in another Scum, and math was more in Town's favor to include a Hated Townie.
