As a Packer fan, I am a bit taken back by all the pessimism I've heard about next year. You do realize the NFC North is complete dogshit right now, right? Once the news broke that Rodgers and Adams were coming back, I think it marked the earliest a team has won a division ever in the NFL. It's already in the books. And we're finally hiring a veteran special teams coach to hopefully fix that trainwreck of special teams that we've been dealing with for years. Our window is closing. But next season looks more optimistic than most on paper.

For the record, I'm sure we'll still find some way to lose in the playoffs.

Isn't Packers pessimism "our division is terrible but we're not a good enough team to actually compete with the decent teams we have to play in the playoffs"? Are there really Packers fans worried about...I dunno the Vikings maybe?

Well, there's two responses for that.

1) The fact that most Packers fans view getting to the playoffs as just a given thing that's not worth celebrating definitely makes our fanbase look spoiled.
2) The "not good enough" argument is a little perplexing. We actually beat a lot of good teams last season during the regular season including the two teams that made it to the Super Bowl. Number 1 seed two years in a row. We're definitely capable of beating the other good teams in the NFC; it's just a matter of getting it done.

I mean we have had packers fans on this board say they would rather go through a full rebuild and "lose for a few years" rather than "just" be a playoff team that doesnt get to the superbowl.

So yeah spoiled sounds right.

Considering the Packers haven't had to worry about just being bad for nearly 30 years now, it's understandable that just being good isn't good enough at this point.

it's hard to not be spoiled considering the overall high level of play, for sure
