It's kinda funny that betting on your team to win is illegal and ban worthy for integrity reasons. But the league incentivizing losing is not an integrity issue nor is an owner paying a head coach to lose games.

Obviously players shouldn't be betting on games but it's hard to maintain integrity when some teams aren't even playing to win and the league/media encourages it

I agree, the league should just make it simple and any team which failed to make the play-offs should be put in a non-weighted random draw.

If they have to make weighted, it should be based on something where you would be less incentivized to do like consecutive times missing the play-offs.

I'd be fine with that. I'd also be fine if the weight was towards winning rather than losing (i.e. best team to miss the playoffs gets best odds) so that the emphasis was always to win.

It's one of my biggest pet peeves in basketball that the lotto odds are weighted towards the worst teams and it's not like I'm a fan of a good team. I'm a Magic fan so I benefit from the current system.

As a Broncos fan I feel like they gave up to much. Harris was the core of that dline and we are going struggle to put any pressure on QBs which is an issue in our division...

Not good enough? We went on the road and beat the 49ers and Bengals. We beat the Rams cleanly. We nearly beat the Chiefs, on the road, even without Aaron. We survived against the Cardinals, on the road, when they were playing the best football in the league, without Davante or Lazard.

I would have loved to see how we matched up against the Bills, but aside from not having them on the schedule we did everything imaginable to show we were at the very least on even footing against the other top teams in the NFL.

To clarify- I'm 100% on board with not being overjoyed about the Aaron Comeback Story because you're soooooo over him on a personal level, and spiritual level, and moral level, and drama queen level.

HOWEVER! "Let's just blow it up and rebuild because I'm sick of us being pretty good but not good enough" is for when your team is treading water between 7 and 10 wins, sometimes missing the playoffs in the final week, sometimes sneaking in but then getting destroyed by competent competition. It's not for when you're going undefeated at home, earning byes, and consistently having close results against the league's best teams.

Did our Bucks blow it up and rebuild after spoiling great seasons with two (admittedly embarrassing) playoff meltdowns? No, we resigned the MVP, maintained the successful core around him, made some smart trades at the deadline, caught a couple breaks in the playoffs and BOOM, title time baby!

Broken foot, but still, point stands.

Bears cut Cohen and Goldman today, Cohen with an injury designation. Sucks because he clearly hasn't healed from his ACL tear back in 2020, and it's been about a year and a half. Hopefully he can play again.
