I submitted my survey a while ago, but I forgot to mention that the change where you only play people with your exact rank was awful. And I deeply regret that. Because it's awful.

How did I find a player with Lord of D/Flute/Luster Dragons in Ranked duels?
What was his real endgoal?

I did end up making a kind of interesting monstrosity for the Fusion Festival that I wanted to show off. I'm really unsure about the card inclusions and numbers, but the idea is really neat. Indeed, it rocks.

I was particularly tickled by the idea of Extra Foolish Burial that acts as half tutor half kill spell.

Why is the game music based on your opponent's field?

I have a cool song for the field I have, but only my opponent gets to hear it? And I just get to hear the basic battle music every time because people are boring.

This one is actually, literally just "because Konomi is dumb and hates money"

Nothing in the Fusion Festival packs are much good, but I still had to facepalm at my first two packs having 3 of the 4 cards being URs and they're all Black Skull Dragons. They've retrained or given support to a lot of old school meme cards, but that doesn't seem to be among them.

It's especially funny because aside from being an OCG-only card for literally thirteen years and not having any dubbed anime appearances, Meteor Black Dragon entirely outclassed Black Skull Dragon (Forbidden Memories/Duelists of the Roses players know that especially well) even though Black Skull Dragon was released second. And to add insult to injury, Meteor Black Dragon has gotten a retrain

I'm running an exodia deck to clear daily missions (Normal Summon + spell activations) while maintaining low rank so that I don't have to tryhard the fusion event to max it out (normal summon RML to start, or just summon White Stone to suicide after I brick to get progress there and give opponent easy wins)

I got into a mirror today where I bricked mega hard to start, but my opponent ran out of steam at two mallets and I was able to pop off after

I got credit for "Quick victory" for winning on turn 3 despite the longest fucking turns LMAO

Really though, good riddance, Verte and Auradon.

Had a fun win against Cyberdarks where they got out their Cyberdark End T1 but found themselves very unequipped to deal with Fossil Machine Skull Convoy. They had their Cybernetic Overflow to wipe my board, but I just put Fossil Fusion back in my hand and used the first Skull Convoy to summon the second.

EDIT: God I love Skull Convoy. Another nice win against Heroes where they had their Malicious Bane out and I summoned not one, but two Skull Convoys, putting their monster that can't be destroyed by battle at 0 ATK against two monsters that get three attacks against monsters a turn.

I've been out of the Master Duel thanks to Elden Ring and other things but finally Dimension Force came out and for my birthday I treated myself to a box. On my final pack I got the main card I'd been searching for, the one I've been waiting months to come out here. Real Yugioh protagonist pulls going on

Got to plat 2, so I thought to play some madolches to change things up a bit. Game proceeds to give me horrible luck whenever I don't misplay and lost all my plat progress.

Guess the game doesn't like me to have fun, it seems.

I was able to get Despia and Hero players into stable situations where they couldn't really do anything to me but it still looked like they had the stronger position so they didn't surrender, and farm a bunch of mission progress off each before putting them down. it was great.

Something pretty fucked is going on here.

All of the one turn games were my opponent disconnecting without doing anything.
One of the two turn games was somebody immediately scooping at the start of their turn. The other was me winning the coin flip and being able to play a full turn before they disconnected, by clicking through the "Waiting for response" popup.

What even is going on?

I don't know what's going on but i wish I had that happening to me so I could stop playing

I still need 3 normal summons and two special summons to be 100% done gems-wise

(And I can't get them if I can't play because of immediate DCs)

I also got several turn 1 disconnection opponents, same as you. And I'm in gold 5.

I actually got finally forced to Gold V yesterday by hitting this kind of opponent in ranked, but I thought it was a one off and didn't think about jt.

That reminds me that I need to stop winning so much in ranked duel

I mean, if your goal is bronze, just play until you're one win from gold 5. No reason to turn down at least a few free gems in the form of daily missions and rank up rewards

I don't see the point in dropping all the way down there compared to Silver myself, but whatever works.

(Granted, as I say this, I was in a match with a bot that did nothing but pass, I couldn't OTK him on turn 3, and he couldn't handle having 7 cards in hand on turn 4 so I had to wait for the time limit to expire, which it did as I was writing this)

Finished everything for the fusion event. Won 13 of my last 15 games which made things a lot easier.

Also got to finish my last game by whooping True Dracos which I always roll my eyes at. Why play a fusion event with no fusions?

Just a purple title that says "Fusion Festival 2022" LOL.

Though I did need to use every game to that point to finish every gem challenge anyway.

I don't think True Draco was super strong this event (At least, compared to how the floodgates could completely shut down synchro decks), but it still had one really big advantage going for it - You can easily spam normal summons with it (And you can get a fair few special summons via True King's Return if it turns into a grind game, too, and they have very easy to access destruction effects too), which Konomi wanted to incentivize LOL. Not to say they were weak for this event, but I think it has more to do with them being well-suited to the mission list (And rather cheap to build, since you only need like two SRs other than whatever floodgates you want to run, while conventional fusion decks tend to need lots of SRs and URs) than them being overpoweringly strong.

If you don't play something like that, most fusion decks are, what? Aleister the Invoker, and maybe a Despia or Hero monster for normal summons, probably not more than once or twice a duel?

I don't think they're particularly strong, they're just going against the spirit of the event. They ARE legal though so can't expect people to not use 'em.

(I have no idea why Konomi is incentivizing normal summons in an event supposedly oriented around extra deck summoning, but they did it for xyz and synchro too so...)

To force you to play more duels, of course.

I swear they don't really think about the missions and just schlop whatever comes to their heads. It certainly feels that way anyway.

First time going back into Master Duel since the end of February because of Elden Ring, bunch of disconnect wins but when I DID play my Melffys were nice

I think every single Asian-character name I've seen since getting ranked up to Gold this month has been a disconnect/timeout bot and every single name using the latin alphabet has been a real player

Free wins keep me from having to stress to try to rank to gold 1 at the end of the month so I'll take it. Especially since they're going to be free and easy surrenders to avoid ranking up to plat.

And when I get to go first, I've been cycling the summon, win and spell activation dailies with my Monarch deck, which is decent to good at both types of summons even without an extra deck, so those are pretty free too

(So basically, even though they take longer, I much prefer these to the insta-scooping DD Dynamite FTK bots - I can just do other things for a few minutes while I wait)

I climbed to diamond 3 a few days ago and like haven't played since. I could hit diamond 1 I feel but don't really have the drive to.

I'm considering dropping the super poly fusion package as dpe has basically stopped being played in everything but it is basically an easy out with anaconda.

In between all the DC bots I've gotten the occasional real game with Swordsoul when I felt like playing. I love how Archnemeses Protos craps all over DPE. Had a pretty good win going second against Tri Brigade with DPE mashed in.

I've played Swordsoul twice. Went first both times. Both did their combo thing for a few cards on their turn without being able to out the Domain extra deck lock so they ff'd without finishing their turns when they realized they couldn't actually do anything to me (Pretty sure I'd get wrecked by them going 2nd though)

Their out to floodgates is Vishuda, if they can get a token they can bounce Domain and go from there. But can't always find it, and you can't tutor it with Swordsoul Emergence without being able to Synchro first.

They put a new Infinite Impermanence bundle in the store (Same as the previous bundles - 750 gems for card + 10 packs)

I hadn't actually crafted any of these, so hey, free staple. On top of that, I got two URs (some Valkyrie thing I didn't recognize and Interrupted Kaiju Slumber) that I can dust at my convenience.

Not completely terrible.

Kind of interested in trying Floowandereeze when it comes out, though I have no idea when that will be and my interest in the game otherwise is pretty low right now.

We could possibly get new cards with the duel pass reset? Though I have barely any gems at the moment. I'd like to try to build Evil Twins once Trouble Sunny comes out, and I want a Link deck for the festival anyway.
