Lost a fairly close game against Evil Twin I definitely could have won had I seen their monster in their yard would lower my monster's attack unexpectedly. And this is just salty venting as a result. But it does frustrate me that this game really wants you to be practically omniscient to keep track of every card's trigger in every possible zone. Nowhere is safe.

Just flip Monarchs Erupt (or Skill Drain if you're a pleb) during the battle step to deal with Timelords =)

That's when your opponent Tribute Summons their Timelord and BAM! You're already dead.

You can tribute summon during the battle step? News to me. Wonder why no Timelord player I've ever faced has done that.

Well, no, they do it before you've activated Monarchs Erupt because they've read your moves because they're from the future. Duh.

Real talk though, I did lose to Thunder Dragons once because they read well enough to tribute one of their special summoned Thunder Dragons so they could normal summon a Thunder Dragon, which let them get around Domain and get one fusion off which was enough for them to win at that point. It was kind of impressive.

So we got a banlist.

They banned nothing and only semi-limited a small selection of problem cards.

Seems like throwing darts at the top decks and seeing what sticks. Eldlich and Dryton suffer meaningful damage, I think, with everything else getting a slap on the wrist. And DD Dynamite gets semi'd, which wouldn't even be that effective if the change to daily gem rewards hadn't already killed off most of the botting.

i wonder if crafting costs has something to do with them being so hesitant on the ban trigger. and they don't want to give refunds back to all those people who crafted cards that are now banned.

if the game had a decent card viewer mode for collection purposes personally i wouldn't mind. they could also do something like ability to set custom banlists/formats so your cards aren't unplayable when they get banned.

and they can always take stuff OFF the banlist too ya know

They're refunding extra copies of now Limited/Semi cards, so I doubt doing it for banned cards would be any different.

Why are they hitting Eldlich via Conq instead of hitting the floodgates instead?

Benten to one and Dynamite to two are legitimately good, but also why hit Benten and still leave Eva at 3, where are Rhongo and True King?

Fusion Destiny to 2 will probably be a good move if Destiny Phoenix Enforcer comes out soon, but that's gonna need big hit to Verte too or that card's gonna warp the Master Duel metagame just like the current TCG metagame, which honestly looks even worse than what Master Duel has

Benten, Dynamite and Sekka's Light are SR. Other than that though, yeah.

Yeah that banlist is a joke for so many reasons.

I think what's especially funny is Fraktall. Not only can the one just be replaced by a Tenki, but it's not even the right Tri-Brigade to hit! Nervall is the card that's busted.

Well, that one is semi limited in the OCG too, so whether it's right or not, Master Duel isn't the offender this time.

Yea, this smells of an OCG banlist(TCG usually goes for limits and bans; semi is more for getting off it. OCG usually uses the semi as a slight consistency hit and then kicks it up later if it still is a problem).

Also notable...no URs on this list.

For how bloody consistent and recyclable Tri is, -1 Fraktall does essentially nothing, I agree. Hitting Revolt should be the way there, I'd think. But this is what the OCG has...

For VW, isn't Lulu the best way to hit consistency? I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure Laolao ain't it either.

Adamancipator got hit in three different ways (Sekka, Anaylzer, and the Prank Kids card) and I still expect that to not matter at all because Block Dragon is actually that good lmfao

Don't actually know enough about Birds or Phantom Knights to comment on the impact those will have, but I think this will drive PK in particular to be even more of a Rhongo Turbo?

Also fucking Conq to 1 is a far bigger hit to Eldlich as an engine (where it's actually cool) than it is to the meta floodgate cancer version still, c'mon Konomi

The bird that was hit made it so you can grab the bird tribrigade to drop with your XYZ search and grab another tribrigade, but losing one means nothing.

They hit Bird Tribrigade more than Zoodiac Tribrigade, which was a more oppressive deck.

Did a single UR card get hit? I think Konami wanted to avoid the refund of crafting points for UR at the same time hitting decks that mostly consist of URs like Drytron.

idgaf about rank, but I do care about being able to rack up gems semi-effectively to finish a few decks out, and lower ranks = easier daily mission completion.

I have 9500 gems and a new gut feeling that Darklord Despia may be a more fun fusion deck than Invoked Shaddoll (especially since Winda has decent chances of being limited/banned during the inevitable fusion event, and that's my primary incentive for building a fusion-oriented deck)

Got another few days before I cap and have to decide what pack(s) I want to sink a few k gems into for sure though.

I've been playing Magistus with the new season and honestly having a blast in Gold. Just had like a 16 turn duel with a Burning Abyss player.

The back and forth was insane. It ended with me trying to just sit on Ecclesia hoping to deck him out, he had 5 cards left in deck but ended up using Farfa to get around it.

For the fusion event my current plan is to hope the loaners are good, and that they ban super poly so it's remotely tolerable.

Same reason I have a half-completed synchrons that I never finished (Because the synchro event A) Hit way earlier than I expected and B) turned out to be surprisingly awful)

As one who runs both decks...I like both, but I prefer to keep invoked to Plat and above or if I am really salty since you can only ns Aleister so much before it gets a touch tiring.

As for Darklord Despia...yea, it is pretty fun. First Darklord is a pretty solid boss monster, gives targeting protection to all your fairies(and a nice field nuke if you fuse with Lucifer), plus you can summon Archlord Krysta from hand or grave for ss lockout, Superbia helps you swarm to kingdom come (though, do remember the when clause-needs to be the last effect in the chain or it misses timing), Lillith helps unbrick hands and helps make use of our great backrow in grave. Darklord link helps link climb, helps you not die to your LP costs, and helps unbrick hands as well(and actually makes Lucifer summonable)

As for Despia, while not at full power(give me Branded fusion plz)-the field spell makes it much easier to get out First Darklord(and all the main deck despias are dark fairies, so...), Branded opening keeps First Darklord from dying to a Raigeki, Aluber is a nice negate if one of your fusions leaves the field, and can fetch them back if it dies while field spell is up, dramaturge is a nice extra deck negate( and do note, it is on any extra deck summon, so you can use it if you extra deck summon as well), and quateritis is a nice annoyance for those that don't run fusions. Proskenion is only ok, but it makes for a decent super poly target and nabbing an opp's powerful extra deck monster from grave can be hilarious sometimes.

If you're going to use it for fusion event...it's solid, but losing access to the darklord link as well as link climbing hurts, but our backrow is pretty solid and First Darklord is still a beast. And we still have the Krysta lockout.

Big new update just released. A whole bunch of datamined information in terms of cards/ranks/gems/events, as well as some pretty good UI and animation updates.

All of the actual paper I've looked into says it's even more cancerous than this format between DPE and the Adventurer stuff, and it's all practically here. Oh well.

I'll at least make Swordsouls, since I was actually looking forward to them. They took too long to get here, though, and yeah DPE sounds awful.

yea, DPE will be...interesting.

I scraped together enough gems and crafting points to finish the Swordsoul Tenyi list I found. Picked up a DPE in the process but no real idea how to use it. The loaners seem fine (and all of them have Super Poly, so you know what you're in for).

You just use fusion destiny or anaconda

If it's not clear it can special summon itself with its own effect after the pop

The common use for DPE is Artifact Dagda to set Artifact Scythe, into Verte into DPE, use DPE to pop self+Scythe during opponent's standby phase, locking your opponent out of the Extra Deck for the turn. Then DPE just revives himself later with his effect, and you keep popping him (unless you have something else on your field you actively want to pop, like, say, another set Scythe) and one of your opponent's cards. Every single turn.

And it's only a four card main deck package (five if you're not already running Scythe). So mega splashable. Every relevant paper deck is running it except the madmen still playing Drytrons or pure/floodgate Eldlich

And this is why I don't play DPE. Just feels...wrong and boring.
