Just played a Danger Dark World while grinding out N/R

I went first and semi-bricked. They played solitaire for about 5 minutes on their first turn, then gave me their Ogopogo using Transverser and immediately surrendered lmfao. Good with me, because I had no outs to their board at all. Hella boring to watch though.

I just played seven games trying to do daily missions

Won the first one, no problem. Four of the next six, I didn't see a single monster card. The other two, it just wasn't possible for me to actually play the fucking game (Both courtesy of Ash Blossom making it impossible for me to un-brick my starting hand).

I know I'm playing a deck with consistency issues, but jesus fucking christ, it should not be this bad. And that one aspect has definitely been significantly worst over the past week

Update: 10 Ls in a row before I finally got a win. And the win was literally me drawing my strongest turn 1 board possible (Majesty's Fiend + March + Domain). I've played against most of you guys, so I'm pretty sure most of you know it should not take that for me to break such a stupid losing streak.

Follow-up on this for maximum comedy:

The 10 L streak demoted me from Plat 4 back to 5
Today I did my dailies without playing a single card because I hit 3 DD Dynamite abusers in a row (And lost all three coin flips), which put me back into plat 4

Wish I could've hit one of them yesterday instead so that I didn't wind up with such a frustrating losing streak, but lmfao

Yup

If you stall for an extended period of time the bot will surrender 100% of the time as well, so there's no need to be losing to the deck at all.

There's a ton of bots playing DD Dynamite+Banquet of Millions FTK running around right now. Definitely in plat, pretty sure in gold too. If you've seen people with 13 card extra decks, it's the main counter to that

On further inspection, if this aligns with the TCG release of the same cards, it looks like they'll have very little impact on the meta. Let's also hope for a banlist.

(Really though, Skill Drain is only a problem because it's being abused by Eldlich, which can completely sidestep it. If it actually impacted them, it'd be a lot less of a pain in the ass. I'm not saying it doesn't necessarily deserve to be limited/banned, but it is at 3 in paper while all of the cards I explicitly listed are all banned in paper, though Imperial Order is only announced to be banned in the next list, not yet banned itself I guess)

I beat the event but for real this time.

It's really a shame that we're still not getting the cards I care about until the next period (in another 3 months?). I have quite a lot of gems saved up but I guess I'll be using them somewhat erratically in the meantime, and maybe chill out on the dailies.

I don't know if I'll finish the new event missions (I probably will since we'll have the weekend for them I guess), but it did make me play a few more games in it using a Stone Statue of the Aztecs OTK deck that I threw together managed to hit a high score of 16k on in 5 duels (Two wins, even)

I definitely will not. It was enough of a drain just trying to get to 20 wins to get the initial gems.

My set-and-pass strategy for Stone Statue of The Aztecs seems to have pissed some guy off into trying to hard stall me by just not playing (To clarify, it has done so because he is actually playing the same deck, but he actually summoned something with attack points too but still refuses to attack)

Joke's on him, I'm doing four other things (including write this message), while just keeping the game in the background where I can glance at the phase button every so often, and am content to stay here until he fucks up and auto-ffs, decides this isn't worth his own time and scoops, or I deck him out.

Sure. That's correct play

This guy is, technically speaking, also playing "correctly" (since he'll take >8000 damage the instant he declares an attack with the cards I have in play), but he has 11 cards on the field so he can't play any more. He also has fewer cards in his deck than me since he went first and played 2x Shard of Greed to draw additionally. This game can literally only end in his loss, whether by deck out or forfeit, and he's opting to take multi-minute turns doing literally nothing because of it LOL

Sounds like a real grudge match. If I make a deck for mission progress and it doesn't look like I'm getting it quickly I'll just stop. Like when I was playing a steal control deck a few days ago. If my opponent wouldn't play a monster on their first turn I would instantly surrender.

EDIT: I would also instantly surrender against Megalith regardless, but that's just because anyone playing them for the event was guaranteed to be a no-fun-allowed robot.

Yeah, I insta-ff most games, especially if my hand isn't good. But this guy I'm sticking with out of spite because he started slow-playing because it was a mirror.

yesterday I played against a guy who caught on to what I was doing, but he was playing a Gemini Summon deck so I just stuck with it to let him progress that mission since it was easy enough to just pass every turn in the background. He played at a reasonable pace the whole way through.

(got 50 gems for winning by the way LMAO - never seen a reward that high)

I'm not complaining about them being too good for the format, though they are. It's just that every opponent playing them would summon Bethor and wipe your board no matter how irrelevant and obviously harmless it actually was, so I concluded that they're all robots.

This is the min of what I'd do. Other cards I'd consider moving is Necroface to 2 and Numeron Network to 1. Not because the decks are really good, but because of how they play out in the Bo1 format.

I'd also consider banning grass, but the sample size is too small (because running 60 card decks just costs a lot) so people dont do it. There are just a lot of busted stuff in MD that doesnt see a ton of play for various reasons because its not AS busted as like drytron or trizoo.

As for Eldlich. I'd consider moving him to two also for MD. But I think a limit to Skill Drain and getting rid of IO should be enough.

Yeah these D.D Dynamite decks need to get hit badly. Not only is it just not fun to play them, but if they don't get to go first they just forfeit.

Because they're getting played by bots who's only real intent is to get as many wins as possible (Regardless of win%) to maximize the rewards you get after each game.

The intent behind that being to either sell the account for profit, or just to use the gems yourself when you're actually playing instead of the bot (The bot can just play essentially 24/7 while you're not at your computer or whatever)

Yesterday I matched up against a D.D Dynamite deck played by a real human, which is somehow way worse than a bot playing it.

I picked up a quick Baronne from the new packs and am still a fair bit over the gems cap. I guess I need a new deck.

I assume this was the guy that MoistCr1TiKaL covered recently? If so, I can't believe how obvious he was about it lol. Why did it take so long for him to get caught?? When I used to play the physical card game, I always watched my opponent shuffle and I always cut their deck afterwards.

Honestly, I think I'm pretty done with the game outside of potential friendly play once I finish my current decks and building stuff for the inevitable fusion/synchro-oriented events. Once I do that, I'll be on two lower-end but competent/competitive decks that I like, two meme decks, and one for each non-Link extra deck type. Without an interest in grinding ranked or keeping up with the meta (especially in a relatively slow-moving but already more-or-less solved format), what reason do I have to really continue?

Yeah I didn't even partake in the n/r event. I'm just not sure what my drive to keep playing should be.

I have seen two duels with them, but my big Lunalight fusions are level 8+ and banishing Kaldeo Chick keeps them from the aluber revive so they have been pretty easy for me.

(Helps that I already play Despia on YGOPRO, so I know how the cards work.)

I just learned about the hilarious nonsense with that Dragonecro card's effect text lying. The TCG version stealth errata'd it so it only works on monsters with a level, and Master Duel uses the TCG text for its English translation, but what's implemented is the OCG effect. Surely YGO's tradition of terrible decision making peaked with that.

Haven't finished it, but it's a neat nostalgia trip, for me anyway. Not really relevant to Master duel in anyway but it's cool to get some perspective on how the meta changed over the years.

I made a revised Synchron deck using some of the new support, and I'm still learning the lines, but even after I do I'm a little hesitant to play it in ranked. See, I cut Synchron Carrier, but that gave me an extra Normal Summon for my daily missions, so it was kind of nice to complete missions in 2 games.

I should just start building some form of full-on Synchro deck

I'd go straight Stardust but my understanding is they're bad

Virtual World seems fine but I get more frustrated by how long people take with it every time I run into it and it's putting me off from wanting to play it myself even though I know it's quite good. Adamancipators has the same problem, but even worse (Especially with how fucking slow excavating is, and that seems to be one of their core things).

(Realistically I should just say "fuck it, Tri-Zoo/Bird or just the rest of the floodgates for that style of Eldlich" because I'm also getting quite frustrated with how often my Monarchs are hard bricking in the past couple weeks, and switching to ZW to try to get a change of pace has just seen me straight up hard countered (Seriously, Necroface Mill and some other deck that was turn 1 dimensional fissure when I tried today, what the fuck)

Meanwhile, I just made my Despia Darklord deck, and it has been fun.
