You pretty much can summon infinite summons against Rahdan. Then it is just a matter of waiting out a big attack for you to wail on him. Let your minions, erm, allies distract him for you while you wait for the opportune moment. He is not too bad.

That is pretty much a Dark Souls staple. Although, 3 kind of did away with it by making casting speed primarily affected by equipables. I always thought it was dumb since it lowers character building options for casters. You pretty much always used those wimpy dex weapons with them.

I haven't faced her yet, but I hear all types of cheese strats for her like jump attacking her repeatedly in the elevator. Reminds me of all those gosh awful cheese strats for Allant back in the day, such as peppering him with poison arrows through the fog gate.

It isn't, it had no effect on cast times in DkS1 or DeS. Maybe DkS2 alone did that.

I killed Miriam by backstabbing her during the teleport animation the second time, she teleported into nowhere and instantly died lol

Demon Soul's it didn't but Dark Souls it certainly did. Great combustion for instantance would come out nearly instantly with a 40 in dex, while there is a slight delay otherwise. It was pretty noticeable, not just a few frames here and there. Dark Souls 2 adaptability, faith & int would raise it. Dark Souls 3 went back to dex, although there was a ring that pretty much maxed it out, so if you were strength it was not a big deal.

Pyromancies are separate from spells, it didn't extend to spells and so you ended up with a shit tonne of MLGS glass cannons.

Considering how much higher the soul reqs are for levels, it's not that big a deal. Quicker to rush Elphael.

(In DkS SL120 was 30,000 to level up, in Elden Ring at SL90 it's past 50,000)

Haven't had a lot of time to play yet but I started with Confessor and so far killed a flaming cat with a sword, some pumpkin-head thing that lead to the sorcery woman (do I need a staff or something for these?), and an agile knight that builds up Blood Loss (that grants a weapon I can't currently use). Followed the grace points to Magrit and got folded in half. Great game so far

Finally had time to play more. Found Patches! Also my favorite DS weapon, the Zweihander :D And killed a couple tree guardians.

Nah, that's just set up for the death cult ending. There's not a lot you need to do to go complete the game, there's just lots of extra you can do for other endings.

Got my first Great Rune. I'm like level 58 or 59 iirc. I've literally spent my first 20 hours playtime exploring the first two regions lol. Also the weapon I'm using is Commander O'Neal's lance. The L2 is a 20% damage buff for me and all my allies. :0 Also What the hell is up with the underground area. The sky is filled with stars, but you're clearly underground because you can see the roots of the Erdtree poking through, and also you ride elevators to get down there. Is this going to be like Bloodborne where you think the game is one thing, then halfway through it's like "actually, I'm this other thing! hahahahaha!"

Yeah, the underground areas have cool skyboxes, but are kinda annoying. Especially the one with a Anor Londo archer wannabees that nail you from half a mile a way. Even the boss was lame in that one.

I am nearing the end. Beat the God Skin duo. Talk about the tale of two bosses. For ranged they are probably easy, but for melee they are a nightmare. Way too fricken aggressive and coordinated for a group encounter. You pretty much have to go balls to the walls against one to make it a temporary 1v1, then keep up the pressure, so you aren't 1v2 for too long. Pretty much Margit the second for a lot of people in terms of being a wall.

I dont play this game, but I do hate that the kool-aid man is in it strutting like Ric Flair.

I found the ant tunnel.

I think I am scarred for life.

What I wouldn't give for a couple otters.

About 30 hours in and so far, Magma Wyrm is the only boss I think is bad. Its not fun,challenging or interesting. 80% of the fight is me hacking away at an enemy too close to even see.

Siofra River, I just found this the other day. I didn't find those archers annoying (yet) but I've read that a lot of people hate these things so maybe I just haven't run into a setup akin to the Anor Londo duo.

I'm about 18 hours in and have hardly done any of the main story yet, just off screwing around like a TRUE confessor of the church probably would.

Let's all be thankful we no longer have to sit on the ground for 2 minutes just to cast miracles now.

It is REALLY easy to miss things in this game. I'm having fun though.

First I missed the summoning bell (and wolf summon, and I love wolves) until i had put a good 20-30 hours into the game lol. I finally got them, and now I can upgrade them as well (which rocks).

Second it took forever and a day for me to find a few spells. I got some from NE of where I started, but they were not really better, I eventually found a turtle (cause you know, turtles are known to be epic spellcasters) that had a few good spells for me, but jeez that took awhile to find.

I got a rapier eventually and used a keen warthingy on it, which makes it do good damage based on dex (which I find helps dps significantly, and gives me an alternate damage type/combat type.

The rapier is super fast, but I'm using it less now as my spellcasting gets better. My int is about 40 but I have not noticed a ton of bonus damage from boosting it. Boosting Mind also just doesn't seem to really add much to my max FP.

I also have a melee char who was much easier to play initially (I killed the tree knight and got his halberd, but the lionels greatsword or whatever it's called that I got almost right away is still better honestly.

That greatsword with jump attacks just destroys bosses. It was total cake to kill pumpkin head with it, but with my sorc it was a real pain and I died like 3 times before I killed him (did it easily with the greatsword character on the first try and barely used any healing potions (and he has all healing potions lol).

First early/semi fast soul farm spot for me are the 2 giants pulling the carrage ne of the start. They are worth like 1k each, but they can't attack back if you range them (spells especially) and the second one doesn't even count as in combat so you use no stamina casting spells on him. That is a great/easy way to get souls for a spellcaster since you can just spam attack them and then run n a bit and reset.

Still not that far in with either character though, so not sure how they will turn out long term, but so far, melee seems much easier, especially from horseback. The halbard is actually better then the greatword on horseback cause if I time it right I get 2 swiped with it (heavy ones).
