Simmons is now pulling the probably-fake injury gambit, he skipped today's workout because of "back tightness"

He is just a shit bloke all-round.
My issue with him started when he came to the casino I worked at in Australia one night.
He and his goons were refused entry.
No ID and wearing camoflauge pants.
That's two reasons against the policy for allowing entry.

Then he goes onto Instagram, making a video then and there, and says they were refused entry because of their skin colour.
He didn't just call the casino racist in his video either.
But went as far as labelling the entire country as racist!

So, fuck that guy.

2-15 from downtown and Tatum blows it off. that's not what I'm looking for.

i'm not that concerned about it honestly. think tatum's shot selection will improve again, not to mention he doesn't have games like this *that* often

but yeah, losing in 2OT with just clunker after clunker was painful

I've always wanted Sarver out because he has always fucking sucked as an owner, so if all that is true, good riddance. I feel horrible about the victims though.

Sooner he gets ousted the better. Any one remember how long it took for it to go from Sterling to Balmer?

I would love nothing more to get new ownership, and the Suns win the championship without Sarver being attached.

From what I'm seeing, the stuff about Sterling came out in late April, he was removed 5 days later, and Ballmer took over the team in August.

The NBA is doing it? Not some news source...the NBA itself? Is actively trying to oust one of its owners? That must be really bad

He won't get the boxscore numbers to back it up but so far Franz Wagner absolutely deserves to be spoken of in the same way. His on/off for the season is the second best in the league (it's like +43 or something). Almost all Wagner lineups for the Magic are positive, I think every single non Wagner lineup is negative. And he's been playing like 33 mine a game.

He's like the ultimate glue guy that the boxscore doesn't show but the team is clearly vastly superior when he plays.

I think based on what I've seen so far though, I'd say Mobley.

Cade gets in his first NBA game and the Pistons win their first game!

It was nice to have his energy, but he certainly looked like a guy both coming back from injury and also playing his first NBA game. Only 2 points, but also a handful of assists and rebounds. Turned it over way too much though

The real story though is Kelly Olynyk dude was on fire off the bench 18 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks

So, can someone explain why exactly the celtics not winning RIGHT NOW is such a big deal? I know things have looked kinda blah the past couple of years but you have both brown and tatum locked up for at least another couple years, brown is like 25 and tatum is 23, neither guy has even hinted publicly at any sort of serious dissatisfaction to the point the celtics should be worried they'll leave, you have a couple more young guys who are believed to be future contributors (robert williams, pritchard, nesmith)...why exactly is the panic button being pressed so hard? There's still plenty of time as of right now.

Partly because the media loves to overreact to shit for clicks/views. Partly because they made 3 conference finals in 4 years whilst holding onto a shit ton of assets and so the expectations were high.

Okay so what I'm hearing is that there's no valid reason and it's just overreaction

Don't get me wrong, I definitely think a team with tatum and brown should be performing better than they are, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. This doesn't really seem equivalent to a sixers situation for example, where you have to press hard to make the most of the window RIGHT NOW.

expectations are like a 4-to-6-seed. we are 2-5 right now with multiple losses to the wizards and a 0-3 record at home. celtics have no realistic way to getting better now that they've paid everyone and tatum and brown are no longer on rookie contracts. tatum and brown are still young, but they can't get that much better at age 23-25. two superstars are simply supposed to be a lot better than this.

I mean there are valid reasons to have concerns about them. Brown/Tatum are an awkward fit without a playmaking facilitator because the balls sticks in their hands and they both just want to shoot. Saw a stat this morning where both of them are amongst the league leaders in terms of shots taken per game to assists.

They have horford on a big 1 year deal (+1 nonguaranteed), could they possibly deal him and some of those young assets for a guy if such a person becomes available?

they could, but we're not likely in contention for those pieces if we're flirting with .500 - no single person, especially available person, is good enough to drag us into contention.

we survived losing horford and kyrie, but what we really needed that bubble year was for hayward to stay, and stay healthy. it didn't happen, and now this is where we are - with basically no supporting dudes who can dribble, pass, AND shoot. add that to the anemic big situation and it's real bad.

that said, if brown and tatum are really supposed to be our kawhi and PG or MJ and pippen, then there's just no excuse for missing the playoffs regardless of supporting pieces

the season isn't over, so we'll see if this team can put it together. but if it stays like this then there's every reason for the Celtics to panic

Sarver is fucked

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/32440987/phoenix-suns-robert-sarver-allegations-racism-misogyny

If the commissioner comes in and investigates to see what the f--- is going on in Phoenix," one current business operations employee told ESPN, "[he] would be appalled.

Edit: Jesus fucking christ

Sarver once used the N-word when explaining to a staffer why he preferred hiring Lindsey Hunter over Dan Majerle as head coach in 2013, according to an executive.
"These [N-words] need a [N-word]," Sarver told the staffer of his largely Black team, according to the executive.

How is this entire article just shit like this.

When the Suns were recruiting free agent LaMarcus Aldridge in the summer of 2015, the team knew that Aldridge had young children in Texas and that playing near them was appealing. During the recruitment, Sarver remarked to two basketball operations staffers that the Suns needed to have local strippers impregnated by NBA players so those players would have children in the Phoenix area and feel obliged to be closer to them, giving the Suns a potential edge in free agency, the now-former staffers said.
